i was having gps signal problems after i rooted my device.i was searching what could cause that problem again and again.after going back to stock again and again i realised that right after i use adaway host file, gps stops working every time(on every application)..it just cant find signal
i use xperia m ss 1905 updatesd and adaway last version..
what could cause that?any way to fix it?
sorry, noob with phone development and maybe bad english
Nope.I dont think thats it.Mine works ok with adaway and everything...
N.
i am experiencing gps problem just after installing adaway and enabling it. I have checked before enabling adaway, GPS is working. just once i enable adaway, gps stops working. I am using a lg G3. I have also tested this on T Mobile galaxy Note 3 and same thing. I am almost sure, adaway does something, at least in the two devices i have texted.

I recently installed GingerVillian on my G2 but after trying all the reboots. and other solutions i've read on the forums i still can't get wifi to work. After rebooting once it will let me add my wifi network but it will never connect. It tries to then wifi turns off and back on and does this repeatedly never connecting. I turned off wifi sleep so that isn't the issue neither. How do i fix this? I'd love to have GingerVillian on my G2 but it's just not functioning properly for me. Any resolutions to this issue and i'll try again but for now i'm gonna restore my old OS
was it 1.5?, I think I had it work for me, when I get home I will reflash and post result.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
try rebooting it
I would agree, try rebooting. Just loaded 1.5 on my G2 and the wifi works here at home.
I got exactly the same problem after installing ad free, and titanium backup..
Don't know if any of those apss could result in such behavior.
Tried Fix Premissins through Rom Manager with no luck.
Tried also to uninnstall those programs, still no luck.
It seems like the phone dissconnects the wifi after a short while.
i have to re-enable it, but still no luck.
Enabling Wifi-tethering works though. the AP appears on other devices, an connects. Also enabling traffic passing through my 3g connection.

FYI, i called t-mobile and are sending a free replacement. now i just have to figure out how to revert to stock os
Flashed with CynogenMOD.
Works perfect untill i enable WIFI, then it boot cycles.
Rolled back to GingerVillian, Same problem as before.
Flashed my radio, and now it works perfect again.
Seems like a glitch in the radio image or something?
solution: newest Radio?
So which radio would you suggest?? I am having a problem with my wifi running the radio ending in 26, which I believe is from T-mobile.
I am not sure witch Radio you should pick,
I found mine under Phone specific tutorials.
My signature shows whitch i am currently using.
Go visit the phone specific forums and search for your newest radio in some of the tutorials.
Hello,
I am having some rather particular issues with my Note 2.
About 2 months ago the GPS just wouldnt work. If you tried to turn it on it would crash the UI or OS .
I have been running Syndergy Rom r85 for over a year at this point and not serious changes to the phone ina while.
So I did a nandroid and started to tinker, a clean flash would fix the GPS issues.
So Backed up some apps and misc stuff and wiped the phone and reinstalled Synergy.
Every was peachie except for the following :
Using Wifi Tether V3.2 B2 M5 *Synergized its getting killed as the Wifi auto on's of its own accord.
Its not just when I tether I now have to check it throughout a day to make sure its not on. It isn't auto connecting to what it finds unless it is a network I have connected to before.
The only thing I am not 100% on is if I was running that version of the tether app.
So, is there a way to figure out whats turning my Wifi on? Is there a newer version of the tether app that will work with my N2 on a 4.1.2 ?
Thanks for any help
-Robert

All the big brains out there and no ideas on this ?
Hi everybody !
Sometimes, I need to use my phone as a GPS and since I updated to stock marshmallow, GPS fix is really bad (can't fix or takes lonnnnnnng minutes) and regularly (too regularly...) when I drive, Google Maps says "Signal GPS Perdu" --> ("GPS signal Lost" ?) and obviously it's when i don't know the road...
In Lollipop (stock) , I thought that GPS was very bad compared to my old Galaxy SIII.
GPS fix took half a minute and sometimes it disconnects (but less than in MM when there is a fix...) (in the same location my old GSIII took 2-3 seconds and it never disconnects)
oddly, my old Asus TF700t who is on Marshmallow (KatKiss) works largely better than my G3 for the GPS (not as good as the GSIII, but it works really great) but unfortunately it's really complicated to take it on the car...
So, I would like to now if someone has these kind of problems with its G3 on stock marshmallow and if it's the case how to resolve it ?
Thank you

I was surprised when I received the same issue. Running GPS Locker before Google Maps seems to work for me, although I did load FasterGPS and set the NTP Server to my local area.

I tried FasterGPS and TopNTP apps but everytime i set different setting than default, the GPS stop detecting any satelites (previous root my LG g3)
I need a solution soon :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Same issue here. It finds the satellites but never gets the lock on. When without wifi or mobile data, its a problem
Or, when there is a fix, after a few seconds, it losts the signal...
On CM13, fix is faster, but it regularly losts the fix...
i have the same problem on my LG g3 I am tired of it........
try gps fix from my signature
Since I installed the first N OOS build i have issues withmy GPS,
every few seconds it lost the lock and needed a few seconds to reacquire it.
Also sometimes it does not acquire ay lock at all and need a reboot to work again.
As far as I can tell the issue happens with every android N based OxygenOS.
And also with Lineage OS 14.1
I tryed clean flashing booth and it did not change anything.
Now I flashed back to the last MM based community build and it works no lost of GPS signal, reasomably quick fix.
Does any other users also have GPS issues with N based roms on the OP3?
How can I solve the issue or at least find out whaty causing the issues?
Funny you mention this. I use my op3 for my topo maps when I hike and I have found N based roms to cause the gps to require a relocking. Also, the gps is noticeably less accurate.
Anyone got an explanation/solution?
good to herar that I'm not the only one with GPS issues.
Now the question is how to fix those?
I am also facing GPS issues since Oxygen OS 4.x.x, before that I never experienced any.
Sometimes it take 5 to 10 minutes until it finally fetches a GPS Signal but it is still very inaccurate then.
Hopefully the new OOS 4.0.3 update helps, but I doubt it since there is no mention of GPS in the release notes.
I also have this issue, the only resolution I had is to switch on WiFi scanning. After turning it on GPS has been a bit better and locks to the correct location quickly.
Sent from my OnePlus3 using XDA Labs
Ok I found out something new when I set mobile data to 2G GPS works great also on the 4.0.3 OOS ROM.
And since people complained since the start that some have issues with GPS and 4G I guess the issue really is that if some particular frequencies are used GPS suffers. Apparently something changes in N ROMs that makes the issues appear for more users.
Interestingly is that flashing Modem Firmware has no affect so the issue is in a part that is in the android kernel itself.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/gps-issues-t3416544
Every time I turn location on, I get the "improve location accuracy?" prompt. Every single time.
How can I stop this? Never had this before, usually goes away after one enable.
Another strange thing sometimes the GPS cant get a lock and the only way to fix it is to restart the phone.
the bew Open Beta 12 based on Android 7.1.1 seams to have resolved my GPS issue really strange
Hi - I also do have heavy problems with losses of GPS- signal at the OP3 since months. Especially while using LTE the GPS gets often lost. Since 5 weeks I am working/struggeling with the OP-support a lot - but no changes till now. @David: "Open Beta 12" has solved your problems?? what is this concrete?
i do have the problem...... from 4.0.2 updated to 4.1.1 and now Beta13, the problem still there~!!
On my phone gps signal gets lost always at the same location and when lte is active. On any other location gps works perfect. When i disable lte everything works perfect. This has happend on any rom. I think this is a hardware problem and can not be resolved. The only solution is disabling lte or using a different provider. I am using o2 in Germany, the problem does not happen with other Providers. Different Providers have different frequencies, this might be the difference between o2 and the other providers.
I do have O2-LTE too and it is "under suspicion" in Germany. But in February I was for 4 weeks in Florida and travelled a lot using navigation. The provider was AT&T - and I had very often losses of GPS-signal too.
I can confirm, that the problem happens with different ROM, but not at only one location - it happens everywhere.
But what can we do? OnePlus is working at this problem since months without a solution - and the customer with this bug really have to accept it "for zero"??
Hello @OPFan , did you get help from the support? Or could you resolve the problem?
3 months of contact - lots of bubbles - no solution
try downloading the "Gps Test "app then enable GPS and open the app and click on the 3 dots > AGPS > Clear and update

this was one of the thousands of tryings - but also with zero effect
I'm having a lot of GPS issues since I've been using OPO or OP3.
I sold my OPO because of the bad GPS. Now I have the OP3.
On both phones I used custom ROM Cyanogenmod.
I sometimes had bad GPS reception, but this was fixed under Cyanogenmod doing this: Disable GPS, Disable Data, Enable Airplane mode, Disable Airplane mode, Enable Data, Enable GPS, then wait for GPS reception and start navi app.
Last week I flashed my OP3 with another ROM (AOSP) but this only made it worse!
I use my phone as car navigation daily, and while navigating, it finds GPS and it loses GPS every 5 seconds (using WAZE app). It's incredibly annoying. Using AGPS or any other "fix" found online doesn't fix the problem.
When using another navigation app, like Google nav, it's works better (because Google also uses LTE). Clearing cache or unistalling and reinstalling the WAZE app doesn't fix the problem.
Conclusion:
It is totally not related to your provider because they are working on fixed standard frequencies and I've been using the same provider on both phones.
It's also not related to the hardware only, because it was working on my OP3 under Cyanogenmod. So it should be related to the hardware driver included in the ROM.
Maybe this gives anyone an idea?

I have also GPS issues. It works well in gmaps, but it is unusable in Waze.
I thought AOSPA was causing it so I cleanflashed latest OB, but GPS issues are present there too
Hi everyone,
I used Dual Apps for a while. But suddenly GPS stopped working for Dual Apps.
I'm using official MIUI 12.5.1. At the beginning everything worked.
For normal apps GPS works just fine but for every Dual App I'm trying GPS doesn't work.
I rebooted the phone and reinstalled the apps I even tried new apps but nothing helped.
I read that this problem used to happen in the past. And it was fixed as it worked for me before.
Do you guys know anything?
For those searching for a solution. You have to grant location permission to profiles for work. You can find it under location settings.
