How do I free up storage on tablet? - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

Anyone know how to increase free storage on internal memory? When I go into TWRP, it says that the internal memory size is only 11GB. Anyone know how to increase this? This is the total available size of the memory, and not the free space :/ By comparison, the micro SD card says 7.7GB and it's an 8GB card. Anyone have thoughts on how to improve this?

11 is what you have available after it's formatted and after Android is installed. You don't get 16 GB out of the box.

Sure... For the tablet, root it and use titanium to remove a bunch of useless crap. It's what you should do regardless.
A standard kitkat ROM is only 200mb. A TW ROM is over a gig, packed. That should tell you what you need to know.
I wish someone would release a true AOSP ROM for the TM-520.Until then, deflating TW and running Nova is as close as I can get.

Does titanium remove TW? I use nova but not rooted yet. I'm not sure what you meant when you said deflate TW.

[Q] Internal Memory as Phone Memory?

I'm tired of been Google it this for days, it is even possible to use the internal memory as phone memory of may be partition it as a single one I dont use it anyway I have my 16 gb sd card and is just wasted memory
What are you asking?

I think there's a way to use it in a sort of apps2SD style. I wouldn't suggest it though because the eMMC used in the phone is slower than the SDcard and must share bandwidth with the system.
yeah i know what you mean, but the phone itself has 7ish gb of flash memory (total of 8gb) that dedicate 1gb to the system (746mb usable) so instead of been just there is there any way to use them as part of the system (as right now my phone sees 2 sd card the physical one (16gb) and the internal 6ish gb) this last one I don't use it at all so my question is is there any way to partion it the system one to be able to use the total 8gb internal flash memory?
Same way Motorola Droid X Does
Yes, edit the vold.fstab file in /system/etc and switch the last two lines. Specifically the the "auto" and beyond and the "3" and beyond. Leave what's before the auto and the 3 on the last two lines.

I think the app NotEnoughSpace will do that for you. Or more to the point it will allow you to use some of that space for the /data/data partition which on the Dinc is allocated to 150MB and is responsible for the "Application out of space" errors people get all the time.

That just mounts emmc as sd and sd as emmc. I think what hes asking is if there is a way to dedicate more than 1gb of the memory to the system out of the 7gb free. So in other words out of 8 total gb he wants 7gb to be dedicated to the system and 1gb for emmc storage.

+1 on this as well.I just store important stuff on there which is nowhere near 1gb used. 700 some mb is just not enough for me.

There has to be a way to do it i just have no clue how. But i would love to have more space for system.

notenoughspace is useful for moving what's in /data/data so there's no more FC's and warnings when it gets low based on the old 150mb and under. all my media and storage of files is on a 16gb sd so I'm hardly using the emmc. once this is figured out I'll reset my /data/setup based on how much more space we can allocate for more apps outside the initial 1gb
update: after playing with "NES" and moving certain apps one by one to avoid problems I nearly have almost 120mb freed up in data/data and notice some increase in performance unless my eyes are fooling me
any news on this? I'd love to create more program memory out of the emmc

[Q] Internal mem. FULL app data files to SD card?

Ok, so I understand the whole 2GB's System Storage & 11.something Internal Storage that somehow make up 16GB right?
I bought a 32 GB micro SD card that is virtualy not even being used by the phone. I have enough space on the 2gb portion for all of my apps, my problem is that whenever I download an app like GTA3, Six Guns, or Modern Warfare it saves all the date files on the 11gb Internal instead of the 32GB micro SD.
This is so dumb, I have already filled the 11gb's with so much app data and I wanted to know if there is a workaround or something, maby disable the 11GB's Internal storage so that I can have 32gbs for all the data dump. Anybody had this problem???
Its very annoying right, I cant get link2sd to work either because of the way this s2 is partitioned. Depending on what ROM or version Android your running you might be able to unmount internal sd in storage options, or maybe try the data bind method thats somewhere in these forums.

Can't you just use a bigger sd card?

I doubt that. Internal storage is not like cpu freq, where you can increase it and see whether it is safe or not. This is like " I want to increase my pendrive storage from 1Gb to 2Gb without purchasing new pendrive."
Can it be done? By "hardware hacking" point of view, it is possible.
Should you do it? I guess not.

I have tried to move apps to external card. All I get is The device does not have a real primary external storage,
or the primary external storage is emulated.
Moving app to sd function cannot be supported by this device.
Rom Tool box says the same thing, moving to external not possible on this device.
My internal memory is approx 9GB free my external is approx 18GB free.
It also says system rom: 2.21 GB (297 MB free)
Internal and media: 11.8 GB (9.91 GB free)
I have just uninstall-ed around 20 apps, so I can now update the installed apps without problems.
Now I am going to re-install to see how far I get before it tells me "not enough space".
I have nearly triple the amount of apps on my galaxy S3 and never run out of space.
I just wanted to add. No problems with my 64GB SD card. I have 4500 music tracks on it as well as 4 movies and approx 2000 photos. All work without a hitch.

How to reverse the internal storage and the micro sd card by using Xposed?

Well, the 16gb internal storage would definitely not be enough for a tablet... Is there any way to reverse the internal and the external storage using Xposed? And what kind of format on the sd card should I use, FAT32 or exFAT? Thank you!

No, but there are apps you can use to extend the internal storage to the external.
However it always suprises me when people say that 16gb is not enough.
I have nothing but apps and app data on the internal storage, loads of apps installed and still plenty of space for more.
Everything else goes on the sdcard.
ExFat.

Sometimes apps like Facebook can take up a few hundred of MBs and the average size of the apps I installed is about 100 MBs plus some cache with them... And the actual usable storage on the tab s is much less than 16gb, so once I installed too many apps, the shortage of internal storage comes... Btw What kind of apps can I use to extend the internal storage to the SD card? Or is there any way to reverse the storage without using the Xposed?
Link2sd Pro and Foldermount being 2 that I've used. Link2sd Pro being my preference.
