[Q] SM-P607T vs. SM SM-P605 FW Compatability - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi,
I just got the T-Mobile SM-P607T a couple of days ago. It came pre-loaded with KK.
Android Version: 4.4.2
Baseband Version: P607TUVUANE2
If you search the Sammie site for compatible firmwares, it feeds back the following:
Model Country/Carrier Date Version PDA CSC Kies
SM-P607T USA (T-Mobile) 2014 May 4.4.2 P607TUVUANE2 P607TTMBANE2
SM-P607T USA (T-Mobile) 2014 May 4.4.2 P607TUVUANDA P607TTMBANDA
Nothing else. No older FW's for this device are reflected / found.
I was wondering if anyone might know what (if any) functional differences there are between the 607T and the 605.
Reason: I am considering trying to downgrade this Tab to Official Sammie Jellybean (in hopes of not tripping Knox) so that I can try to Root (again, attempting to preserve Knox 0x0). Would the P605 be a viable solution?
Once on JB, I would likely attempt the method I used to inject root during the 4.4.2 upgrade on my Note-3 which PRESERVED Knox 0x0.
Thoughts?

If you have a new KK bootloader then you can't downgrade the firmware to JB... It will just sit on the Samsung logo getting hotter and hotter...

Thanks, UltraMag.
This question driving this post is now moot, with GeoHot's recently released Root which worked quite nicely.

Downgrade kitkat to kitkat

Hi there.
I'm a bit of a noob and need some help.
I updated my Note 8 to the NF1 version from United Arab Emirates, it seems that my battery is draining faster and the device is not as fluid as it was. Can i fowngrade to the previous version of kitkat, which was the April version from poland, by flashing it with Odin?
Will this work or will it fail and/or trip knox? Knox counter is currently 0 and the device is stock and not rooted.

[Q] Install 4.4.2 on Note 3 Neo from another region

Purchased a Note 3 Neo in Hong Kong last year.
Model Number: SM-N7505
Android Version: 4.3
Baseband Version: N7505ZHUAND2
Currently running:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/29517/N7505ZHUAND2_N7505ZZHAND2_TGY/
KNOX is already flipped, so I don't care.
Browsing http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N7505/, I see that there are some 4.4.2 for various regions, but I need to have a 4.4.2 base in order to install a custom ROM correct?
I get a "Device has been modified. Software updates are not available" message when clicking "Check for Updates" - so my assumption is I'm going to have to do this manually? But do I just need to wait?

This may answer my question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-neo/general/to-flash-bulgaria-firmware-german-sm-t3035794

I posted the question but I didn't find an answer to this, yet.
I would flash the newest firmware for the N7505 (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/43318/N7505XXUCOB1_N7505OXXCOB1_BGL/) and then the modem for Europe (N7505XXUCNG2).
But I don't know if this is possible?!

[Q] Is the AT&T Note II impossible to root?

First off here are the current details of my device:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Model Number: SAMSUNG-SM-N900A
Android Version: 5.0
Baseband Version: N900AUCUEOC1
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-4335446
Build Number: LRX21V.N900AUCUEOC1
Knox Version: 2.3-------------------------------------------------------------
(Sorry I would have posted screenshots but I don't have 10 posts yet.)
I bought the phone with KitKat 4.4.2 and Baseband Version N900AUCUCNC2
Since then it has been updated through:
KitKat 4.4.4 - Baseband: N900AUCUDNJ5
KitKat 4.4.4 - Baseband: N900AUCUDNL1
and now Lollipop 5.0 - Baseband: N900AUCUEOC1
I carelessly updated my phone via Firmware Over the Air (FOTO) not knowing at the time that it would change the process for rooting the phone later on.
I have tried many tutorials and checked various threads throughout the forum for a solution but it just seems AT&T phones are extremely hard to root nowadays.
Some of the things I have tried without success are:
TowelRoot
KingoRoot
Root De La Vega
and possibly a few various other methods.
It is also possible that I may have done one of the above methods incorrectly, although I tried to follow the instructions as carefully as I could for each tutorial.
I have heard that it is easiest to root this phone while it is at KitKat 4.4.2 and I am curious if there is a way where I could downgrade the Android version and successfully root this phone. But I have also heard that AT&T patched 4.4.2 so that it was harder to root although I am not quite sure if this matters.
If anyone has any solution to my problem I would so greatly appreciate it. I want to be able to use this phone to its full potential before I get a new one.
With the 5.0 update comes a fully locked bootloader. ..which means no kernels....ever again. .
Downgrade is not possible to an older version. ..
No bootstrap recovery exists to my knowledge. ..and leaves you with no real root options. ..
Perhaps our devs could find a method. ...but support is not looking good for this older device.
You are locked up tight. ..
Very sorry. ...g
Sounds like you have a Note 3, not the 2.
What he said. Note 2 is i317 and has no lollipops

Anyone still stuck on 4.4.2?

Samsung noob here.
Bought a used Galaxy S Tab 10.5 a month ago. For some reason it's still on KitKat 4.4.2 and never got the update to Lollipop.
Any idea why?
Model: SM-T805W
Build #: KOT49H.T805WVLU0ANF5 (I search all around but couldn't find any info on T805WXXU0ANF5)
Carrier: Bell Canada (Although I don't use mobile data and only have an expired T-Mobile SIM in it to get rid of the "No SIM" message. I only use WiFi.)
Probably because there is no marshmallow rom at the moment.
Latest is 5.0.2 and can be downloaded from SamMobile.

Oh snap I meant Lollipop. Fixed OP
According to sammobile.com this is the latest firmware for T805W model:
Date: 2015-09-01
Version: Android 5.0.2
PDA: T805WVLU1BOD7
CSC: T805WOYA1BOD7
Are you non-rooted stock? As far as I know, one reason when OTA updates are not offered is when ROM status is not official or if the system is rooted (maybe when it is stock rooted, OTA is offered but cannot be installed).
Anyway, you can download the original firmware from sammobile.com as ashyx suggested and flash it using Odin. There are plenty of manuals how to do that here on xda.

Re-flashing official i317M ROM?

Hey all!
Got a question, got my parents a Galaxy Note II back 2 years ago and this unit started acting up (likely after the Android 4.4.2 update, not sure). Was wondering if there's a way to flash the stock ROM again without it triggering any of the Samsung KNOX protection systems. This is not my device so I don't want to put any custom ROMs or trigger the device's security.
Code:
[b][u]Device Details[/u][/b]
Device: SGH-i317M
Android: 4.4.2
Baseband: I317MVLDNH3
Kernel: 3.0.31
Build number: KOT49H.I317MVLUDNH3
Any help is highly appreciated, thanks!
Cheers,

I believe you have a couple of options. You can grab the firmware for your specific model @ SamMobile
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I317M/
and flash it using Odin 3.10.7
http://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
Or you can use Kies firmware upgrade and initialization;

Wouldn't flashing with ODIN trigger the security subsystems? I know that Samsung devices are particularly finicky because of KNOX.
Cheers,

Flashing Oem firmware with Odin won't trip KNOX. If you're not comfortable with Odin, Samsung Kies is pretty much fool proof.
