I decided to give Kit Kat another try a few days ago, but since then I have not been able to connect to LTE.
Prior to flashing I was running CM10.2 and my LTE was working fine. I initially lost LTE when I flashed PACMAN. I have also tried AOSB/ProBAM and Beanstalk. None of the Kit Kat roms gave me LTE so I gave up and restored CM10.2, but afterward I was still not getting any LTE connection.
I tried flashing the MD4 modem, but that didn't seem to fix anything. I've also heard that going back to stock could help, but I'd rather not have Knox if I don't have to use it. Which stock ROM here on XDA would be the best (Not planning on using the ROM. I just want LTE and then will flash back to Kit Kat)? Would a different modem fix my LTE issues? Is MK3 better than MD4, or are there any newer modems I should try?
Thanks for the help!

Any of the ROMS that have [TW] in the title should work. Full Knox only comes with flashing a tar file in ODIN, because your flashing every partition of the phone. Modified stock ROM zips do not have knox, unless otherwise noted. Make sure to do a prl and profile update when you flash to stock.

Flashed Wicked Sensations last night with the MK3 modem and I seemed to be getting LTE as soon as that booted. Updated my PRL and Profile, and then wiped. Installed AOSB again, and I seemed to be getting LTE until I rebooted. After the first reboot I seem to be stuck in 3G again.
Im currently running AOSB on 2 devices. When I first flashed them, I had the same issue until I rebooted the phone. After that I never had this issue again.

I think that's the opposite of what happened to me. My status bar said I had LTE when I first booted AOSB (this was after flashing/wiping TW). After the first reboot it connected to 3G and I haven't seen the LTE signal since.
I have updated the APNs, but I was using the same APNs for a while and had LTE on CM10.2 with them.

This is something wierd with Kitkat. I do not believe a fix has been found just yet. but if you dial *#*#info#*#* on most phones you can get into the phone systems and turn LTE back on.

KitKat roms are currently having data issues. You could try backing up your current KK rom and go back to Stock, update prl and backup your DNS settings then go back to your backed up KK rom and restore from the dns settings you backed up.
How does one downgrade from kitkat to jellybean? I tried to just flash a jellybean ROM with a clean install and got an error?

ohhh i had this issue but i figured it out for pacman and most roms just download nova launcher and when you do create a shortcut on nova ad click on setting an it should say apn once there u open it and youll see where it says ehprd something like that click on it and go all the way to the bottom and change where it says bearer to ehrpd and lte should work ^_^
Ok so I finally got it working, although I'm not sure what was wrong with everything in the first place. My buddy said Cyanogenmod screwed up a recent ROM, so maybe that code was in one of the ROMs I was using.
Each time I flashed back to TouchWiz (I ended up using Wicked Sensations) I could get 4G/LTE. I ran a **72786*, did a PRL & profile update. Prior to finding a working ROM, when I went back to BeanStalk/PACMAN I would lose LTE. After I found the updated BeanStalk ROM I flashed and it still had LTE! Happy days!
At this point I was able to send MMS somehow, but phone was having problems being recognized by the network. I could connect to LTE but couldn't use the data. After I updated the APNs everything started working again.

This should work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794956
so i had taken the plunge and converted my e980 into a e980H
post then whoever i call from the phone keep saying that my voice is all muffled up i figured this should be an easy fix via flashing the ATT modem file , booted to CWM and tried doing that , showed success , but on booting back showed the same old baseband
so fired up the TOT and flashed it completely like 4 times and still nogo shows the old e980H modem , rerooted and factory reset multiple times and still tried flashing, didnt help
the LG Support tool says i have the latest firmware and wont do anything for me, how can i fix this. unable to effectively use my phone as a phone here
What TOT you used?

If you are looking at your baseband version through the settings on your phone, the baseband version is the same for all versions of the G Pro, even though the actual files are different. If you flashed it through CWM and it didn't come up with any errors it should have flashed correctly. Make sure that you flashed the right modem file. Has anyone told you that your voice is muffled since you flashed the modem file?
well i had flashed the e980H rom and since then had complaints, i flashed the ATT modem and still had complaints from one person, then kept looking at details in the about screen and after multiple tries got paranoid in trying to fix.
there were no errors while trying to flash the same, situation seems better now, am enjoying the battery friendly rom but a little bugged why cant the rom properly update the modem once flashed correctly.
Hi.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 model on carrier T-mobile. Lately the phone has gone nuts and will get stuck on dialing out and will never make the call. Everything else works fine. Sometimes I have to soft reset, pull the battery and that will fix it for a call or two, then it will get stuck again. I have contacted T-mobile about this over 5 times and none of them can help. We tried to change the sim, reset the account. Etc and nothing. I have reset the cache, factory reset and even put in a good working sim card from another phone and the same problem comes up. During my latest troubleshooting I have narrowed it down to where I switch "network mode" to GSM only and that can make calls out all the time, but the data stays on E (which then I can't use the internet because it's so slow) When I switch back to auto I am sometimes able to place calls again, but only a few. After I test a few calls and leave the phone for a few minutes the phone will get stuck back on not making calls out and just saying "dialing".
Has anyone had the same problems or know of a fix? Currently I have been trying to flash the modem to different versions to see if that fixes the problem. The first two modems I have flashed did not work and came up with "unknown baseband".
If anyone can help I greatly appreciate it.
This is a known issue with 4.3.. What firmware are you on? Assuming you flashed the correct baseband for your device, the 'unknown baseband' message sounds like you are in 4.3 but what build? You can't flash any modems successfully less than 4.3

I was previously on 4.1.2 when the problem first started. I updated it to 4.3 and still the same problem.
jss15j.t999uvuenc2 build. (I put this one back on last night so at least I can use the phone today when I am at work)
I was just hoping that the device didn't go bad when it was on 4.1.2 because it was working just fine before the problem started.
Was it official update to NC2 by OTA/Odin or you just flashed a ROM?

NC2 was OTA. After doing some searches it said that OTA could of been corrupt, so I went and downloaded KIES and did a reinstall that way.
When I upgraded to 4.3 I tried that default baseband out and had the same problems. That is when I was searching on google and came across this forum and also the thread about flashing modems.

APN is epc.tmobile.com
Network Mode current set to GSM (the only way I can make calls out without the problem occuring)
WCDMA/GSM (Auto Connect) is what it should be on so my data is at 4G, but the calls is the problem here
I am not sure but can you check the settings of the Dialer to see if there is ways to choose Lookup providers ?

Nope don't see anything in the dialer about selecting a provider..
Its supposed to be something about Choose Lookup Providers. At least that's the way it is on AOSP.
I suggest Odin flashing the stock NC2 firmware and then factory resetting from stock recovery. (Backup first of course!) If it is still an issue, it will most likely be a hardware problem. From what you have said so far, I believe that you will find this to be the case. Could've been due to damage from a drop, or even overheating at some point. Or it could just be that its simply due to hardware degradation over time.
I've been having issues with my E971 on Rogers ever since I tried to flash an E975 ROM on it some time back. The phone is unable to connect to the network and shows 'Service Disabled'. I am unable to manually add an APN or search for networks. If I take the SIM out of the phone it shows my IMEI but if the SIM is in the phone it shows as null.
I used a KDZ to go back to the stock Jelly Bean version of Android and still had the same issue. I thought it might be an issue with the modem so I rooted the phone and flashed houstonn's Rogers JB modem and still couldn't solve the issue. If I flash the ICS modem on the 4.1.2 ROM I'm able to connect to the network but WiFi doesn't work. I tried installing various different AOSP based custom firmwares and was able to get data using the ICS modem but again no WiFi. Using the JB modem on an AOSP ROM would give be an external modem(undefined) subsystem crash. At this point I got my hands on a stock ICS bin file for the E971 and flashed it using LGNPST. On 4.0.4 both my data and my WiFi worked so I backed up my EFS manually using adb and ran the OTA updates on the phone. Unfortunately once I had updated to 4.1.2 the network stopped working and once again I got the 'Service disabled' messaged. Manually restoring my EFS didn't solve the issue.
It seems that for some reason my phone is unable to work with the JB modem. I find it odd that after restoring to stock the OTA would end up breaking it like that. I'm not sure if I'm backing up and restoring the EFS wrong or if the phone is just broken in some way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
We had a few hours network outage due to security reasons. But my G3 didnt recover when the outage was over and is still stuck at "no Service" even after several reboots, clean flash of cloudy and restoration to stock using nandroid. It was working just fine a night before. I have tried restoring Stock from nandroid but still no luck. I have tried different SIM cards too but still no connectivity.
*#06# shows proper IMEI number.
Any clue what might be wrong and how to go about fixing it ?

OK So I looked around. my IMEI is correct. my wifi and bluetooth mac addresses are ok. but my baseband is shown as unknown. So i flashed a modem from here for v10D D850 and now I am not getting "No service" but still not getting any network
My suggestion is flash stock Rom with kdz or tot method. Look under general section and return completely stock.

OK so I am back to stock using TOT method. I have my IMEI, baseband and MAC addresses intact. Now it doesn't say No service rather it keeps on searching for signal and catches some from time to time but loses it again in a jiffy. Sim Toolkit is working fine so I assume SIM jacket isn't the trouble maker here.
search for signals :::: get a lock on :::: lose the signal :::: repeat
Any clues ?
Turn on airplane mode on and off. Factory reset your device from settings menu. It's a weird problem. It must be fixed after tot method.

Are you using it on At&t? Maybe sim gone bad or imei blacklisted by accident.
Which ATT APN are you currently using?
I'm actually having this exact problem to right now, I flashed back to stock and I still receive no data. I've tried nextgenphone APN and the PTA APN, I also checked my IMEI and it's fine to.
Edit:
I'm using an AT&T LG D850
When I put the sim card into my Moto G, it picks up 3G and works.

Ok so after having my go at the phone i had it given for repairs. The guy said he has replaced antenna multiplexer ic which has solved the problem.
I am experiencing the exact same issue but with a D855.
I decided to go from stock to CM12.1. This didn't end up working. Stuck on Bootloop. I also tried Xenon HD and had the same issue. So I came back to stock. Now having this issue.
What I did was flash from 5.0 to 4.4 so that I could root. I was unable to on 5.0.
Then I rooted using LG One click Root.
Then I flashed the latest TWRP
Then I did a full clean in TWRP and flashed CM & GAPPS (same with Xenon)
When this didn't work, I flashed to stock using LG FLash tool.
I tried both the KDZ and TOT methods numerous times, also tried to re-flash CM & Xenon and had the same issues.
I also tried flashing stock 4.4 and 5.0 roms and still the same.
I have also done multiple factory resets after flashing.
If anyone out there has solved this issue without sending their phone away, please advise as I am at my wits end and without a working phone.
Thanks
