Lock Screen Swipe Left --> Home Screen bug? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm relatively new to my HTC one M8 and I've tried to do a search for this but nothing has come up.
I've set my "home screen" to be the 3rd screen from the left instead of the default 2nd screen from the left. So swiping to the left from the lock screen is supposed to take you to your home screen but it keeps taking me to the 2nd screen from the left even though I've changed it to the 3rd screen. Is something wrong with my phone or does this happen to everyone?
Thanks

Where do you see that it is suppose to take you to your home screen? It says takes you to widget panel in the settings "which I don't even know what that is" but it just takes you to the last screen open, not necessarily home. Mine does the same thing as yours.

Wake up the phone directly to the Home widget panel
1. Lift the phone in
portrait orientation.
2. Swipe left across the
screen right away.
This home widget panel is what I set as my home screen right? I see no reason that it would keep going to the screen next to blink feed. Is there some way I can choose what my home widget panel is?

Home Widget panel is the 1st screen after Blinkfeed which can have widgets on. Above behaviour is also true when you set the Blinkfeed as your home screen.

Very minor yet odd problem with screen when I turn Desire on

When I turn my phone on, and then slide down to unlock, it very briefly shows me the 'main' screen on my 7-page wide homescreen (the one that shows the time and shortcuts to email, people, etc) but then quickly zips across 2 'pages' to the left without me even touching it. Like page 2 rather than the middle one, page 4, the default screen when I turn it on from sleep.
Does anyone know why it might do this?
Make sure you don't come near your htc desire trackball, if I assume you have a desire! In my experience with my desire it is some times very sensitive to the smallest movement (skipping 7 screens when trying to switch 1 screen)

I always found the Sense UI very buggy when it came to managing the screens. I would sometimes loose all widgets and shortcuts until I switched to an empty screen then back again. Or it would jump to the last screen randomly when an app closed.
Just get rid of Sense UI and you won't have the problem (you may want to wait until your warranty is up).

[Q] camera on from lock screen

The other day I turn on my phone and was getting ready to unlock my screen when I almost drop it. After I fumble it and look at the screen the camera was turning on an I can't figure out how I did it. Can somebody tell me how I did it? Thanks.

Thank you. Lean something new. No telling what else this smart phone does that I don't know. But it's only as smart as it operator.
Swiping from right to left on the logogram brings up the camera app.
This was a feature introduced in Android 4.2, along with Lockscreen widgets.
In case you didn't know this, swipe left to right on your lock screen and you can add widgets to your lock screen such as messaging, calendar, gmail. So you can take a quick glance at your frequently used widgets without even unlocking your phone.

[Q] Day planner full screen thing on wake-up

I am not sure what it is called, but when I wake my tablet, it shows this full screen calendar/day planner thing. The top half is a calender page, the bottom half is a blank scribble pad.
What is this thing called and is there a way to turn it off?

[Q] Gestures taking me to the wrong home screen?

This is my first post here. I searched but didn't find anything like this. I posted on another site and nobody could help.
Ok so I just got my M8 yesterday and so far love it. However I have found a small issue that really bothers me. For some reason when on the lock screen gestures, if I swype left to go to home screen it always takes me to the screen just to the right of blinkfeed. I have changed my home screen and reset it so that my home screen is in the middle of two panels. (Blinkfeed is two to the rignt). However regardless each time I swype left on lock screen it takes me to the (what was the default) panel where the home screen used to be.
Anybody else experience this or know how to fix?

How to split screen?

I have a Moto G 5G Plus. Does anyone know how to use the split screen functionality to view 2 apps side-by-side? I’m running the Nova Launcher and can’t work out how to do it.
You can use Motorola gestic to do so.
Activate it under Motorola Actions - gestures
Put on finger on the leftern-middle side of the screen and Swipe from left to the right and back to the left.
I'm using Smart Launcher and I've got problems using split screen as well.
Thanks for your reply. I've enabled that option but can't get it to work. For example, if I swipe from the left in Google Maps I see a "<" appear on the left centre of the screen. It disappears again as I swipe back from the right but the screen does not split. I've tried it in the Gmail and PocketCasts apps and I get the same thing.
Swipe up and hold until vibrate toget to the screen where you can switch apps.
Press and hold the app icon at the top of the card.
There you should find the option.
