I have the Sprint, LG G2, and am travelling to Canada and going to be purchasing a prepaid sim for when I am there. I am using the CloudyFlex rom, and am wondering, if I request the unlock online, will it screw anything up and will it work?
I doubt the unlock is going to work if you are not on a Sprint stock based Rom. The same way that updating your PRL and Profile doesn't work when on AOSP based Rom's.

Is it possible to unlock the Droid Incredible 2 for T-Mobile? Or does that depend on the ROM? Cause MIUI doesn't give the option to pick a carrier, but other ROMS do.
Should I just try a different ROM?
Yes , Call Verizon for Sim Unlock Code , any Sim Card will be accepted
to get GSM working , the Rom should support GSM Mode
For Sense Roms Only Stock Rom or Rooted Roms Based on Original Rom will support GSM Mode , [ like rmk , and also VU 2.39 can be used with GSM Patch ( i didn't test VU) , ..etc ] , this means that there is a menu inside Settings\wireless networks\Mobile networks for choosing Operator and APN
Specifically for t-mobile , i am not in US , i don't know if Stock Rom by Verizon has restrictions on use with t-mobile , But i guess Rooted Roms should not , some who use other carriers also install PRL ( Roaming list ) suitable for the new carrier , you should check with someone live in us

i have Sprint S3 that i will soon be using with Virgin Mobile USA.
I love touchwiz interface (as in the stock sprint rom) but if im on VM isnt it possible there could be an update (from sprint) that could wipe all my custom settings that put the phone on VM network?
is there a way or a rom that will let me still do updates without wiping my carriers specific settings?
i know CM10 can do this for the D2SPR (my sprint s3) through its auto update but it dont have touchwiz?
so i guess my question is what would be the most "STABLE" and "Similar" rom to the stock Sprint rom that can still do big updates without messing with carrier specific settings when the updates get done?
thanks
As the title states, I just picked up a AT&T galaxy S3. I am looking to use it on T-Mobile. Coming from a galaxy S1, the unlocking procedure is a bit different. It also seems that roms are fairly brand specific, so I assume I should be looking for i747 roms. There are so many options out there, could anyone point me in the right direction to get this phone up and running? Are there any special considerations I should be taking since I am using an AT&T phone on T-Mobile?

Before you do anything, if you want to unlock you phone so you can use it on another network go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033225&highlight=sim+unlock
You will probably need to change the apn numbers to match t-mobile which is easy.... as far as roms go, you should do some searching for t-moible roms in the development thread. Also not being familiar with AT&T and T-mobile you should check to see if they use the same band and also check which modem (radio) you need... I am sure there have been lots of people that have done this arleady.... search search search at least you asked the question before you started not after you had a wreck
Thanks for the link. I did the unlock procedure, haven't tested it yet since I still need to cut down my SIM card.
I also went through and did the CF-Root procedure with ODIN. So theoretically the phone should be ready to flash a custom rom.
I was under the impression that I should be looking at i747 roms instead of the T-mobile version (i999?) since my device is originally AT&T branded. You are saying this is not the case? Basically I should look at roms in the T-Mobile section? It might not matter anyway since some popular roms run on both.
UPDATE:
I installed Stockorama V2 on the phone and it is up and running on t-mobile. It is a multi-carrier rom, but I used the AT&T options when installing. Would I have better luck installing it as T-Mobile? Basically, can I install a T999 rom/kernel on a i747?

Ok I don't know why but I always tend to find my fixes just minutes after asking...
For those wondering how to enable Global Carrier/ or GSM on the CyanogenMod 11 (KitKat) Go into Settings>>More(under wireless & networks)>>Mobile Networks>>Network Operators>> Automatic
This should switch your phone to Global carrier support.
Hey guys,
I just got done installing the CM11 ROM onto my verizon HTC One, and I was wondering if there is a way to get the global carrier support.
I've been using my phone with T-Mobile on Stock jelly bean/ htc sense, and the option was always there to switch between global and CDMA.
I can't call or send messages, and I would really like to get that going as soon as possible.
So is there a way I can flash global support onto it? Or at least t-mobile?
Anyone confirm that you can unlock the ATT variant and flash it to be fully functional on all Tmobile bands?
Going to pick one up but need to be sure it will work. Thanks!!!
Consider it confirmed...plenty have done it including me. You may not be able to change the kernel, but there are custom touchwiz roms you can use. Just read read and read some more before making any changes.
Sent from my i747 on T-Mobile that's getting awesome LTE speeds.

if you ever updated to kit kat or newer basebands+modems, you are out of luck with Loki or installing ANY aesop custom roms or Cyanogenmod. They have towelroot but that's enough for some people, but you are stuck with laggy Touchwiz. It's worth paying extra for the Tmobile version
