Well it depends on how good the phone will be!
Yeah...reminds me..this phone could be the last product from Sony Ericsson..
Next time will be SONY.
hope there is flips phones...misses my old SO 905i
sent from Hinata's Arc
it will be new design, exmor r will stay, definately will go if i have some spare bucks at the time it goes out
I will most certainly have a Sony next time, but only if Sony follows the recent trend.
Had almost all other brands recently. HTC, LG, SAMSUNG even Nexus S and the Arc pleases me the most!

I think Sony will develop their smartphone integrated with all of their products.
Just wish that they would made it special. and of course with their excellent camera. or maybe like HTC that works with monster beat
Come to papa o xperia DUO~
my hope is:
a walkman with great audio quality.
a cybershot with xenon flash.
true psp phone.
-or Xperia arc 2nd gen with dual/quad core,hd display, and still same arc design with front camera.
or my expectations are too high ?
I will probably get another, I wasn't going to stay with them but when you look at what the devs here have achieved, along with S.E's recognition of users wanting the ability to be able to mod their phones, there's already good times ahead.
From My Arc Running CyanogenMod.7.1
All I want is the Xperia Arc with Duo core and front face camera...
I hope SE continues making phones with great designs but with dual core processors.
I think its performance will be much better this coming year.
i want same design as arc, with dual core cpu (non tegra 2!) 1Gb ram, front facing camera, and headphone jack on top of device and a better camera. the camera on the arc really is not that special.....Maybe has something to do with severe compression on SE's software.
I'll nevr evr take SE again

yes ofcourse ,, why not take Sony again?!
If I could afford a new phone and Sony keeps the same design philosophy, I would buy the Nozomi. They SE phone might not have the best specs, but they do have the best design.
Phones are like cars IMO: you buy them for the logo. If you buy a SE, you make a statement: you think that design is important.
It depends on whether what was Sony-Ericsson now begin to behave like Sony typically do, i.e. lock down everything, treat your customers as if theyre thieves, etc.
Even if they dont i'm still not sure i'd feel entirely comfortable giving money to a corporation that treats its customers with such contempt. I will admit to a certain amount of cognitive dissonance in convincing myself that it was okay to buy a Sony-Ericsson phone because theyre a separate company from sony (even if sony were part owners, it was still independent in terms of management, board etc) but at least SE were unlocking bootloaders and supporting CM at a time when, say, HTC, were starting to lock everything down.
But if SE are now just another part of the sony hierarchy, and are subject to the same paranoid psychotic management decisions that drive much of their product development, then i dont see their phones remaining attractive to me for too long, regardless of how nice their hardware is.

I was going to keep hold of my x10 until a dual core with decent RAM turned up, but dropped it and shattered the digitizer 4days after my contract ended and a free arc s was too much to say no to...
Perfect device would be:
Arc S design/size but in nicer materials (say carbon shell and aluminium)
Quad core and lots of RAM.. Add in cyanogen and I'll be happy as a pig in ....
My ARC S will probably be the last Android phone I own. I'll be looking at Windows phones for my next one, as I want and need a phone that intergrates fully into a corporate environment.
For instance, not being able to use a WiFi proxy without rooting your phone and installing third-party apps is ridiculous.
I LOVE android, and the ARC S is great, but the OS is so hard to use in a work environment.

And 1080p Video?
Depends on how the phone will be.
If they don't add the old build quality + sd card slots in the new devices I might move, even if I'm a big fan of Sony Ericsson, well Sony then.
Will decide when the phones are out
And we have 6 months or more months left to decide

Hi all,
I am currently using an Xperia X10, with unlocked bootloader and a custom rom. Does almost everything i need from a phone, but it can always be faster and better right
Today i stumbled upon a nice offer with an Xperia Arc S. I can also choose a samsung galaxy s plus..
So i have a few questions for you guys:
Do you recommend the arc s? I really like SE for it's build quality and excellent camera. So the samsung is out i think . PLus the Arc S having Android 4.0.
Is the Arc S nicely build?
Battery life? (xperia x10 has 1500mah, but with custom rom it gets trough the day with ease)
I will almost certainly do the same with it as i did with my x10 : rooting the phone and tweak it. So is the arc S an easy phone to edit and root? Are there some nice ICS roms for it? (of course there are )
How about performance? i know it is not the best phone on the market, you could even call it an "older" model. Adreno 205 is a good GPU isn't it?
And is the camera really as good as Sony claims it is? Yeah i am not comparing it to my dslr (SonyD) Alpha A500), but can you make some nice pictures with it.
Or should i just pay a bit more and go for Xperia S
I have been using my x10 for 2 years now, don't know if i will do the same with the arc S. But the offer is so good that i could even sell the phone and still don't pay more than with my current Sim-Only.
I hope i get some answers from you guys. Information from users is much more valuable than everything i read on the net. Reviews are generally pretty positive.
Greets, and thanks in advance
I would go for the Xperia S personally, the arc is great but the lack of RAM and memory make it often frustrating to use. Multitasking is a pain because you'll find that you leave an app, come back to it and it will have closed most annoying on the browser. Also once you install a decent amount of apps on it you do start to notice it lag.
It is a great phone, as long as you're a light user. Going back to my arc from my Xperia S you do notice this more. That said it is a good update from the X10 which is very sluggish with 2.3, but if you want something much better and more future proof I would recommend at least a phone with 1GB RAM and a dualcore processor.
I don't have an arc s, I have an arc. I previously used an x10 though and the arc is worlds better (even with similar specs). The rom community for the arc is also very active so you'll likely find exactly what you need for your usage.
That said, adsada is right; if you can swing it I would get a newer xperia phone, but if the deal on the arc s really is a good one I can't see any reason not to grab it. Just expect to use your phone like a phone, not a computer
if u buy arc s you are going 10 months behind with u see the config..but the looks are still futuristic..one of the best looking phone. but only drawback is its RAM..if u want your phone to survive jelly beans load and want to stick to it atleast for 1-1.5 years then i think your btr go for xperia s..
i have 3 smartphones..i see my defy as a rough & tough man..i see my SGS2 as a big corporate man with suit blazers..but when i see my arc s i see her as a sexy victoria secret model ..
BTW this is general section...Questions should go into Q & A section..
The build quality is good.
The battery life...hmmmmm.. I am still waiting for the phone that last more than 1 day in heavy use. Still, with the right ROM and settings, it lasts about 10h (and by heavy duty I mean HEAVY DUTY, used at least 6h out of 10 - music, internet (data), gaming, etc)
Camera is good. I had nothing to complain about.
The RAM and internal memory is indeed a drawback. Still, some workarounds can be found with the right ROM and app configurations.
If you want it mainly for the design.. go for it, it is great!
If you are more interested in force than in beauty... go for Xperia S.
Thanks for the answers.
Yeah the offer is pretty nice, but i think i will wait a bit and buy something a bit more high performance.
Looks of the Art S are the best though, i really think there isn't a better looking phone on the market right now.
Lack of Ram is something the X10 has too. Really irritating sometimes, but after some modding you can run it pretty fast.
But i really like to tweak things, and i like technically advanced stuff. So it is probably better to buy something different.
Don't know if i stay with sony though.. Samsung galaxy S2 is getting a lot cheaper fast here. So that probably is a lot value for many. I hate touchwich, so that one will be modded for sure
i have an Arc S, to be honest i prefer the Galaxy. Arc S is good but when it comes to updates i think ICS will be the last update this phone will ever taste (porting will help but some stuff might not work)
maybe newer ver of android requires a bigger memory (RAM) ICS is kinda slow on this phone but Modding helps speed it up.
im an arc user also..
work in a mobile section been exploring all high end phones
just my own opinion and what ive experience
sony - camera / visual(your screen) / audio
those criteria sony will have great advantage towards other brands
but speed xperia s dual core old architecture cpu,
s4 dual core phones will swallow it alive
im planning also to change my phone maybe other brand
i used my arc for almost a year now and the ram just cant handle it
got an Samsung Galaxy S2 and an Sony Arc S. have to say, the RAM on the Arc is really a problem, but the camera is way better than on the Samsung :-D
currently I´m trying AOKP on my Arc S, just to see if it handles the RAM really better than Stock
so for you: get a device with more RAM and nice optics ;-) but you probably won´t be disappointed with the Arc S.
... If you want a upgrade from x10 go for sony S http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_s-4369.php, it is a bit expensive now, but if you wait a little it will be a good upgrade.
I want to buy an Arc S very soon and i want to know if it is worth buying it now ? my budget is low because i sell my 5 month old atrix 4G + salary of 3 days working xD
The big question is if there are any bugs or consistant lags which i need to know about ?
Buy an Arc S, load it with FXP kernel and CM9, and you got a phone which can compete with the most expensive Android phones on the market.

And if i don't want a costume rom ? at least until the warranty is over...
Is it good ? does it have any bugs or lag ?
I think you should get together a little more and buy a xperia s, s I think the arc is becoming obsolete, but with the roms there until today, you'll get more out ... as I, ;p
Depends on what you want from a phone. If you're not very heavy on apps, want a nice looking phone (with cheap housing) and have a low budget - yeah, go ahead. You could give Neo (especially if you want a front facing camera) or Ray a shot, though.
Sent from my cracksperia Arc
Is it possible to Re-lock the BL ?
And the neo and ray have small screens compared to the Arc S and neo is too thick
I'll go for the Arc S Is is fast and slick with everything ? i mean dialer, sms, contacts, calendar, settings & menus, apps like whatsapp and facebook ?
How is multitasking for a single core ? good ?
Thanks
Yes, it's possible to relock the bootloader. Neo is thicker, yes, though housing is better. But I suggest you buy a protective case for Arc, because the housing is crap and if you accidentally drop the phone, you'll definitely damage the housing. And there's that tiny crack that'll develop above and below the proximity sensor regardless of how you treat your phone.
The multitasking. Well, hm. I suggest you stay on Gingerbread for that. It's a lot better than ICS on Arc. I can't really say much more as I'll be upgrading to Xperia T/TX soon for a bit more power. But overall, it's an okay phone if you don't mind crappy housing quality.
Sent from my cracksperia Arc
I suggest you to at least buy Xperia U... It's cheaper than Arc S (at least here in Serbia), and it has a dual-core processor, so it's better for multitasking. If 8GB of storage is enough for you and you don't need good camera, than go for it. If you don't, than buy Xperia Arc S if you can't buy Xperia P.

Hey im using arc s from past 4 months and its just AMAZING....
The only one demerit is it lacks in front camera...apart from that everythings fine...it gives a good batery bakup..ram management is good...the screen size and resolution is apt and moreover the design of the phone gives the killer look to it...it is powered with scorpion snapdragon single core processor which i feel is good moreover the novathor duel core which is equiped by the new sony xperia nxt series..
I suggest you to buy it and install cynogen mod rom in it for best use !!!
Hope this helps u !!
Your choice
IF I SUGGEST YOU THENNN(KEEPING AN ANDROID PHONE IN MIND)
1. ARC S HAS 1.4GHZ SINGLE PROCESSOR
>>>IT'S A VERY GOOD PROCESSOR AND TILL DATE IT CAN RUN EVERY ROM MADE FOR IT
<<<SUGGEST YOU TO BUY A DUAL CORE PROCESSOR ALTHOUGH QUAD CORE PROCESSORS ARE LATEST BUT DUAL CORE PROCESSOR CAN DO THE WORKS SMOOTHER THAN SINGLE CORE.
2. ARC S HAS ONLY 512MB RAM
>>>FOR RUNNING OLDER ANDROID ROM (Eg.GINGERBREAD) IT'S BEST..BUT IN LATEST RELEASE OF NEW ROMS (Eg. ICE CREAM SANDWICH OR JELLY BEAN) MORE AMOUNT OF RAM IS GOOD AS IT WOULD CAUSE LAG(DOESN'T COME UP INITIALLY BUT LATER IT'S A LAG LIKE HELLL AS YOU START DOWNLOADING MORE APPS)
<<<SUGGEST YOU TO BUY A PHONE HAVING AT LEAST 1GB OF RAM FOR A COMPLETE LAG FREE PERFORMANCE
3. ARC S HAS A BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, CAMERA AND OTHER FEATURES EXCEPT FRONT CAMERA.
IMPORTANT:-
THE BEST EXPERIENCE ON A PHONE CAN BE ACHIEVED BY A VERY GOOD ROM OPTIMIZED FOR IT. IN RECENT WITH LATEST ROMS REQUIRING HIGH END SPECS TO RUN SMOOTHLY ON ANDROID DEVICE..
AT LAST:-
PERFORMANCE IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO $$$$$.

Hi guys i've been exploring these two devices and their forums. The fact is that this friday i'm getting a new phone but i don't really know which one of these is right for me, i mean in specs they are pretty much the same.
Physically i like a little bit more the XT because of the bigger screen, the nav bar instrad of the Not so nice notification led bar on the XS, also the XT Has the possiblity of adding an micro sd card. The downside i see about the XT is the Thermal throttling and the dimming screen when playing or else, but don' really know if this also happens on the XS. The camera quality of both devices are good, some claim XT is better but XS is really close.
The development section on the XT Is really young, i mean there are not many roms nor kernels etc. So this is a point for the XS which development is a little more advanced and explored.
So those are my thoughts anyways i want you guys to help me decide by telling me which pne would you buy and why?
Pd. Also recommend a rom for the device you'd pick.
In my case for the XS i think i'd go pac rom or cm9
For the XT Any stock rom deodexed and optimized and then cusromize it at my taste
Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

Xperia T is great. I actually have Xperia S. I was wondering if I should upgrade, and decided to stay with S
to get the quadcore Xperia which should be out next year.
Xperia T is slightly faster and has improved interface elements over previous Xperias, but the difference is not massive.
So if the price doesn't count, get the newer. If the price counts you can safely take S which is still a great phone.

Agree with you. Xperia S is a good device! I'm going to buy in the future the new quad core device from Sony ,so decided to stay with my XS for now.

I was able to compare both so it's true for sure.
If you're at least concerned about the price, pick the Xperia S, definitely.
If you're rich or really just don't care about money, get the Xperia T.
The Xperia T does everything just a little better, but there's no major change.
I'm loving my Xperia S. Anything I'd wish it had, the Xperia T doesn't have either.
Get the Xperia V.
It has the new Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon processor which offers a substantial performance boost over the S3 processor in the Xperia S. It is also more energy-efficient.
Xperia T.is.good phone (a little bit better than XS), but look at this:

Hi,
I was a Nexus 4 user. N4 screen, which is 4.7", was too big for me. I often use my phone with one hand, so 4.7" is way too big.
I just sell my N4 and am planning to buy a 4" phone. As far as I'm aware, there are no new-4"-Android phones from well-known brands. Probably there are, but I didn't find them. So I pick some phones from the internet. The candidates are Xperia M, S3 Mini, and Zenfone 4. Personally, considering its specification, I prefer Xperia M Dual, but I want to hear some opinions.
1) Is Xperia M worth to buy nowadays?
2) What about updates? (Official from Sony and community support)
3) Is there any hardware/software weakness?
4) Any other phones as a suggestion?
Thank you
Are you Vanilly user or Advanced user?
Hello mandayugana.
I just finished useing my xperia m (my gf got hers stolen so i renewed contract to get a new phone).
Hope this helps you, here is what i see so far about Xperia M;
1) Is Xperia M worth to buy nowadays?
- Depends what youre looking for . your previus phone was for sure better in specs but you wont suffer with this litle guy except for one small detail; Space :crying::crying:
- YOu have only 1.5Gb Free space total!!! and if you dare useing an sd, thers no native app moveing to sd.. i k now, sucks. Now, you can bypas this by Lynk2SD method but you require root, so if youre used to rooting, youll be fine with this baby.
- Consider you get a 5mp camera witha SWEET sensor, NFS support, and some nice seed in this litle monster, midrangue smartphones do not get all this sweetness so eazyly
2) What about updates? (Official from Sony and community support)
- What updates? if its not a flagship Sony wont really support over 6 mounths so dont think of it.
3) Is there any hardware/software weakness?
- Internal memory!!!
- External memory is considered your 2nd SD (this is WHY it doesnt support app migration -normally-)
4) Any other phones as a suggestion?
- To be honest this phone is quite wirth the budget price. maybe a xiaomy would be good but sony did its work way too well.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! If youre an advanced user, MAKE A BACKUP OF THE INNER DATA; this will allow you to return your phone to previous state and keep waranty. If you do this before boothloader unlocking youll save yourself a lot of trouble.
Bro , Go for latest ones...
Camera is worst in xperia M , and not even a official kitkat update....
Definitely not. The only actual benefits you get are active support from developers, if you are into tinkering.
But I have to say, this device is physically unbreakable.
