Hey All,
Anyone of you experiencing app resolution and screen size issue? all my side load apps (except XBMC, which i can manually adjust the screen) is little bigger than my screen. i couldnt see or select the button near the border. Is there any way i could force the app display at the correct resolution?
Thanks!
Have you used the Amazon utility to calibrate your screen?
Settings .. System .. Display .. Calibrate Display.
It doesn't adjust color but lets you dial screen size back or up a bit. Don't know if it's globally effective?
Overscan
I recently ran into the same problem and after endless searching, it was my TV causing all the issues. If your TV is cutting off a small portion of each each side, check its Overscan setting; it's usually on by default. I have a Panny, so for me it was under Screen Setting, but once I turned it off, I could finally read all the text. Hope that helps!

Hi everyone!
I've installed Myn's Warm Donut and it works, but when i lock the phone with power button i have white screen! I've tried all panels! What can i do?
Thanks for the answer!
When you lock or when you turn the screen on again?
EVERY android kernel has a bug with screen wake up. If, in your case that happens, its perfectly normal, that white screen stays for like only a second and then android lock screen shows up. Press menu key and ur device will unlock. Sometimes that white screen stays, in that case just press Menu color again if that white screen still stays, you need to change the panel. Its impossible that white screen stays for infinite time. Mind to have a radio version greater than 1.65

Colours messed up?
white screen keeps there FOREVER?
Its time to change panel, try using Type 1 first, later try type 2 and type 3 is for exceptional cases
Every kaiser device has different panel type. Mine, HTC TyTn II KAIS130 has panel type 1 and another guy over here has same device he's using Panel 1 too. Warbyte has KAIS130 as well but he's using Panel 2. Its you who figure out that THIS panel is not working fine, lets try another. At maximum u understand it after two tries. And mostly you get a fine screen with fine colours in first try.
Only CHANGE panel if that white gibberish screen stays on for ever.

Disable Location feature, disable GPS Satellites, set Screen brightness to minimum. Keep Wifi off, disable Automatic sync, keep your memory clean and use a task manager, use 2G mode if you are not using 3G. Disable Data connection and enable it only when needed
Hello. Since getting my new HTC M8 the other day I noticed that the screen can flicker for a fraction of a second when in the setting menu.
The issue really comes to light when you use a screen filter, I use the app that is literally called screen filter. If you set the app to about 20% and then you go into the settings menu you start seeing microsecond white flashes when backing out of and entering new menus.
Does anyone else experience screen flicker on there M8. I like to know if its my phone thats the problem or the screen filter app. If someone wouldnt mind testing my steps above out, it also helps if you have the screen filter on in a dark room as the flashes become even more pronounced.
Thanks
Hi!
My Desire Eye's home screen has been rotating whenever I slightly tilt it since this morning and no, the Auto Rotation mode is not enabled. I did a soft reset but still the screen keeps rotating, and I can't find any solutions for it anywhere.
Usually, when Auto Rotate is ON it rotates almost every apps' screens but never the home screen or menu screen. When I woke up today somehow the Car mode was turned ON, but I exited it without doing anything else. I wonder if it caused something to change in my phone.
Does anyone know how to fix this? You'd save a life. :crying:

Yes, I'm sure.
Hi folks,
im running a Fire TV 2 on a PC monitor. As a matter of fact i get washed out blacks when watching movies due to the RGB limited (16-235) output of the fire TV.
My monitor wants to be feeded with RGB full color space (0-255) and does not support adjusting black levels. I found no possibility to adjust the output range on the fire TV, so it seems that I'm stuck with my washed out picture.
On the other hand on my rapsberry I can adjust the output range by simple adding the HDMI_PIXEL_ENCODING switch in the config.txt. Now I'm wondering if I have a chance to adjust the RGB output range by rooting my fire TV? Is there such a thing like config.txt which can be modified?
Any help is highly appreciated
Its Kernel Stuff (which also means, that there is probably no "app solution" for this) -
no config.txt on Android.

Great news, you can switch between limited and full RGB using the 24p key combo. Tested right now, works.
http://www.aftvnews.com/fire-os-5-adds-partial-24p-25p-30p-video-support-to-the-amazon-fire-tv/
When you first hold the button combo and the Fire TV starts to cycle through resolutions, you might see a black screen for a while 20 seconds or so - depending on the resolution thats on screen at that point. That means, that currently a resolution is displaied, that your monitor doesnt support. Eventually the Fire TV will cycle back to resolutions your monitor supports and you'll get an image again. During the cycle the Fire TV pulls up every resolution in limited and Full RGB mode and you can hit stop, once the right combo is displayed.
Hey harlekinwashere,
thanks for your input, I will try as soon as i get home
Hi,
unfortunately its not working for me
I'm able to open the hidden menu and it switches between resolutions (1080/720/480) and refreshrates (50/60 Hz) but not limited/full range.
Im using the latest firmware.
I'm on 5.0.5 and what I noticed is that each resolution is displayed on a screen that doesn't auto adjust for input levels, twofold. One time it produces severe black crush on my monitor, and one time it doesn't.
This happens on every resolution during the process of cycling through them.
I was pretty sure, that that was the Fire TV switching between limited and Full RGB. Its not labled that way - but its instantly obvious looking at the patterns.
Do you not see any such behavior on yours? A wild guess would be that its a handshake thing and the Fire TV only does it when connected to certain kinds of monitors - but, that would also be a bit strange ...
If you have seen the black crush (or in your case shift towards real black) color shift and have identified it as "not full RGB" - I might be mistaken - I have not measured the actual image on screen, I've just seen the picture on screen cycle between black crush and normal image on my monitor and assumed that this was limited/full RGB being applied.
So, I notice that when I get int apps, and go to the home screen, the screen gets brighter, meaning the apps are dimming the screen ever so slightly, any fix? I've noticed it the most in Chrome, but it happens in many apps.
Yes, that's been noticed by many of us, with varying levels of irritation. I believe that if your brightness is set to "Auto", you won't see the dimming, but I'm not crazy about how the Auto mode works. I should confess that until someone else called attention to it, I never noticed the slight dimming myself, so I won't get too puffed up with outrage.

I have also noticed this. The screen suddenly gets dim while using some apps (mostly Chrome). When I press the home button, the screen brightenes up to its set brightness. Also, I have auto brightness turned off. So, this shouldn't be happening. Currently the only fix is to exit to the home screen.
