This part is optional, and there's no harm in doing this:
Type *#*#4636#*#* into your phone. This brings you to a lis, select "Phone Information". Scroll down to "Set preferred network type:" and select "LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)" from the drop-down menu. If you are in an area with AT&T band 4 LTE, you will be able to connect to 4G/LTE.
Thanks!
Two questions for you.
1 the change to the prl how do you get it.to stick?
2 do you think changing the prl should help in getting better service when roaming?

I have found that in order for it to stick on the initial selection, you need be in an area where you can receive that level of signal.
Changing this will do noting but allow you to use it when you are in an area that will support any of the band types. If you feel it is "messing things up" simply revert back to former setting.

Try this:
1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> Connections.
2. You'll see 2 sets of option links. 'My ISP' and 'Work'. Under the work links, choose 'Add a new modem connection'.
3. Name for connection: o2 gprs. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS). Tap Next.
4. Access Point Name: wap.o2.co.uk
5. Username: o2wap
6. Password: password
7. Tap Finish.
8. Back in the connections settings screen, tap 'Edit My Proxy Server'.
9. Tick 'This network connects to the Internet' and 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet'.
10. In the proxy server box enter: 193.113.200.195
11. Tap OK.
12. Back in the connections settings screen, tap the Advanced tab.
13. Tap 'Select Networks'
14. In both drop down boxes choose 'Work' as the connection. Tap OK.
15. Tap OK again.
Then go to messaging, choose tools-mms settings, make sure the 'connect via' has the settings shown for the one you've just set up. Choose the servers tab and set it up as the one below:

I'm having issues sending mms with my S3. It can't send and cannot download pictures. This phone is from telus but I am using it on Rogers. I've rooted it and currently on liquidsmooth Rom. I have lte data and it works fine. I've tried many different APN and the pictures below show one I use. I tried splitting it up and having mms solely by itself. I'm using lh1 modem right now and have tried lk4. Any suggestions? Is it because this phone is not originally from Rogers?

I'm running task650 AOKP using the LH1 modem without an issue. The only difference I see between our apn is I do not have a port set where yours has port 80.

I've removed that as well and it still doesn't work.

I have horrible data connection and my research shows that it is recommended to charge the APN Protocol to IPv4 from IPv6.
HOWEVER, I can't edit the APN. How do I edit this?
I am rooted, stock on 4.3
You don't edit it, you create a new APN and only copy over the sections you need like the iPv4...

So changing the APN part to Ipv4 is better on LTE?
Not sure of that, I did it to get VPN to work when I wasn't on Wi-Fi.
So I accidentally created a new APN with the SAME NAME as the original one - T-Mobile US LTE. Now I have TWO (2) of these and the one I created manually cannot be deleted (!!??). I believe the APN name is registered as a "protected" information by T-Mobile.
Any chance I can remove this?
PS: I created a new one with different name and used APN Protocol IPv4.
How come you want to be on ipv4? Wouldn't you service on ipv4/ipv6?

Where I work, I had intermittent connection when on IPv6. I found out through trial and error that changing to IPv4 fix this issue.
Also, I use OpenVPN and using IPv6 caused a lot of problem when connecting.

Firmware seems up to date.
Did you do a wipe (data, Dalvik, cache) when you installed the ROM?
Not too familiar with the issue "no APN protocol" as related to WiFi hotspot (tethering). So cell network data works fine otherwise (when not tethering)? Did you check that you entered the APN correctly for your carrier?
Yes i did a comlete wipe and a fresh install and its because theres a method to get the unlimited hotspot working and you have to change the apn protocol from ipv6 to ipv4 and i couldnt find the box on the apn settings to change form ipv6 to ipv4 but i found a way to change it and now its on ipv4 but i seems not to be working ived tried other methods but nothing works it stills redirect me to the tmobile offers page
I have had my sprint LG G5 domestically unlocked officially by sprint. Calls work with a tmobile or att sim so it is definitely unlocked.
I cannot for the life of me get data to work. The only options I have in "network mode" are Automatic, LTE/CDMA, CDMA and GSM/UTMS. I've tried Automatic and I've tried GSM/UTMS. I have LTE roaming enabled. All LTE bands including bands 2, 4 and 12 enabled. All verified in ##DATA# I've tried switching band priority to 2, 4 and 12 but that didn't help.
LTE discovery picked up LTE band 12 for a split second once but usually it just connects to UTMS and no data on UTMS. This is in an area with great coverage. It says it isn't roaming so maybe that is an issue since the lte bands on the G5 seem to be categorized as roaming lte bands. But not sure why I wouldn't get UTMS data.
APNs are correct.
Anyone any ideas?? Is this phone just crippled for use in the USA?? Do I have to resort to the software hack method to unlock it with hiddencallmenu?

Like I said I had it officially unlocked.
I did figure out that I needed to set the APN to default and authentification to none. Works now. Thank you.
Are you still using this device?
If you are, I am curious how things are working. Are all of the voice and data features working properly? I may switch to T-Mobile from Sprint later this month. Thank you.
