And just to let You know I know all the rules how to make a duo effect picture. Should I instal the rom again or back to stock rom...?

Before going too crazy, I would try resetting all camera settings to default. The Dou effects only work on certain shots(no flash, no zoom, etc). If that doesn't help, check the Viper ROM threads to see if anyone is having similar issues, or try a clean flash of the ROM. And, of course, there is always your stock NANDroid backup if all else fails.
On a side note: the Photos app has some pretty cool "auto-awesome" features too, just can't change focal point and such.

[Q] Why is my camera pink?

So I've searched and found a few mentions of this, but no possible hints as to why it's happening...
Most (not all) of the time, my camera view looks like there is a pink solarize filter applied. I've flipped on and off all filters, and it shows the same in my camcorder app, Camera360, RetroCamera, every app that uses my camera lens.
I am running MynWarm TwoPointTwo RLS5, and noticed it on RLS4 as well as on CM6.1.1. I am running the Netarchy SBS CFS kernel. I notice the issue when plugged in and when on battery power.
Any ideas what may be happening, and how I can fix my camera? Seems like it has to be a software issue, doesn't it?
Just curious but does it happen on both cameras? If so then it seems more likely a software issue. Was not mentioned in the OP...

Sorry for neglecting to mention that - the front camera is fine, the back camera is the only one that's all pink.
Of course the obvious reply would be to double check the lens to make sure it is clean and not damaged...LOL!!! I am sure you have done that. If it were me at that point I would flash the latest stock rom and kernel which has stock code and stock camera software. This would at least point to a software or actual camera problem.
My hopes would be that stock would fix it...then you could re-flash the setup you had and see if it is the culprit...my way of troubleshooting before panic...LOL!!!
I'm thinking that's what I'm going to have to do. It'll have to wait until I have just a bit more time - I'll search for a rooted RUU and stock kernel to flash - making sure I have a good nandroid of this one before I do.
pusht down to reattach the thing. the cam comes loose

[Q] Camera app - old and new

Hi everyone! This is my first post here so I hope I'm doing this right. I'm not sure if this should be here in Q&A or in the App section but here goes.
I really love my Epic 4G. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was still running Dk28 with midNIGHT rom 3.1. Then I finally switched over to the wonderful CM9 Beta1. I am loving it so far, but there's one thing that bothers me. The camera.
One of the things I used to use on the camera very frequently was the panorama/wide shot function. I really hate the sweep panorama of the ICS camera because with the crafts I make, it's just horrible and it's always distorted because sweeping and me don't get along. The camera that was on my leaked Froyo had the feature where I would click the first picture, and while moving to the side a green box would guide me and then automatically take the next shot when it lined up, then I'd move again and it would take the next shot. It would then put the images together for me.
I really need that feature back. Is there a way that I can install that camera app back onto my phone in addition to the updated ICS camera? I really like the smoothness and speed of the ICS camera for normal picture taking.
I can pull the camera.apk from my original install, but as I said, I don't want to overwrite the ICS one, which I fear because they have the same name and I don't know if renaming it will make the difference. I want both. If someone could guide me in getting both on my phone, that would be great. I'm sure there must be a way, but I don't know how to do it. I've read a lot on these boards so I figure if anyone knows how to help, the great minds here do!
I hope I've explained this ok. If I'm not clear, please let me know. Thanks much!
p.s. I've tried a number of camera apps from Play. I don't like the wide shot ones where it has a ghost image for you to line it up manually either, so please don't suggest that.

Camera question on CM10 ROM Android 4.1.2

Is it just me or does it seem like the camera was better when the phone was unrooted and without a ROM? Last night I rooted my phone and flashed the CM10 ROM...and I feel that the pictures come out a little blurry. The camera app is completely different in itself.
Is there any way to install the original camera app? The CM10 ROM upgraded me from android 4.1.1 to 4.1.2.
Respectfully,
Daniel Norkin

The stock camera app relies on the Touchwiz framework which CM10 does not use, so no you cannot install the original camera app.

Thanks. Is it just in my mind that the stock camera is better? Are there any good camera apps around that I could use?
There's a chance that the pictures with the stock camera are better, because the camera software has been optimized for the phone. However, someone posted sample pictures in the CM10 thread comparing the stock camera quality to CM10's camera quality, and the differences were negligible. The person posting them said he couldn't tell the difference if he didn't know there was one, and I personally couldn't see much difference either. I'm on my phone, so searching for it would be a *****, so if you're on a computer, I'd recommend giving the CM10 thread a search. If I can find the post before you, I'll edit this with a link.
You could always try it yourself, too. Find a room with consistent lighting (probably away from windows), and take some pics with Touchwiz. Then, take the same pics with CM10 (I guess, try to make a stand/marking of some sort so it's easier to put the camera at/near the same exact spot). Upload them to a computer or something (just because a larger screen will show the differences better; it's not entirely necessary), and compare.

Thanks. That is all great information. I actually just flashed Jelly Bomb 9.0. Nice ROM but now I'm getting a whole new error haha. I'll start another thread.

[Q] Camera issue M8 (no lastpass...)

Hello all,
First post, sorry its a question..
The back camera on M8 is making strange pictures, if any at all (see attachment).
Front camera is working fine.
Got my M8 for 1 year now, never had problems with the camera.
mm-qcamera-daemon is running high on batt usage.
Stock camera app will most of the time open and then close again, sometimes i can make strange pictures like above.
I don't have an other camera app running
It's rooted and i'm running
InsertCoin version 3.0.8
Android 4.4.2
HTC sense v6.0
HTC SDK API 6.17
I do know there are a lot of updates from the above versions. But its running so wel all these time that i don't need a upgrade (still up to 5 days on a full batt :good
I did clear the cache from the camera app, I don't have lastpass installed.
Does anyone seen a picture like this (except from a good/bad trip)? And how did they fix it.
All input is appreciated.
Thanks, Peter.
One of two things is going on. Either the camera module has gone bad OR you dont have the correct software to run the camera or that software has gone corrupt.
I see your running a custom rom so my suggestion would be go back to complete stock and re-test. If it fails its a hardware issue.

Thanks for your answer.
Do you have any clue if the same software is used for the front and back camera? Front is working perfect so that would mean a hardware issue.
I will start with returning to stock, quickest way to see if it's hardware related.
The camera modules are different. Back has ultra pixel and front is a megapixel.
Since its easier to change software it makes sense to go back to complete stock for testing. Then if it still fails its probably hardware.

which all thing i will lose

Guys m thinking a lot lot before rooting n installing any rom
One thing cameto n my mind that of i into any custom rom
What thing features i will losse i mean
Face unlock/camera quality /any other feature .?
OOS Camera apparently can never work right on custom ROMs, which annoys a lot of us. Basically the only reason why I'm stuck on OOS forever. You can use the Google Camera but there are a million versions and most of them have problems with Slow motion, front portrait, or some other thing. It works, but it's not perfect. It also doesn't flip the selfies like the stock camera does, which actually bothers me. So you either need to edit it before sending or just deal with it.
