Weird Battery Drain - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

Hello guys,
I am having a weird battery drain on my find 7a . Sometimes the battery drains normally , but sometimes it drains ridiculously fast. I have checked the "wake lock" but there is no app that is causing it. On the other hand the Android OS is eating up the battery in the abnormal drains. I think but am "not sure" it has something to do with Charging, because when i charge it with a normal charger the batterry drains normally. When i charge it with the VOOC charger, sometimes it drains normally sometimes it doesn't. Even the diagnostics with wakelock and CPU spy aren't helping.
I am on Color OS 1.2.01i.

An update... i looked it up on the internet and have found out that Android OS is draining battery, ONLY when connected to specific WIFI. Anyone knows how to solve this issue?

Dump Color OS - go back to stock. Test for high temps then. I suspect that you're CPU isn't correctly clocked, or that an IRQ is 'held' high.

HUGE Battery Drain

I recently bought a S4 Mini (i9195) and I noticed it has a decent battery life.. until 5%. When the battery reaches 5% I get a huuuge drain.. it's like, draining to 0% in about 1 minute. And it happend all the time. Whats wrong with the device? :crying:
I'll try that, haven't noticed what happens at 5%.
Im shure mine has 3%/hour battery drain over night so I'll spect from 5% at least one hour at idle

Doesn't happen to me but I've experienced that with my old phones. Always happens when I charge my phone when it's far from empty and unplug it when it's far from full, multiple times.
Like I used to plug it in whenever I could find a power source so that I can play my games throughout the day. And I usually have to leave halfway for other things so I'll unplug it when it isn't fully charged yet.
Then after a while I noticed that the battery was draining quickly when it was at lower percentages but draining slower at higher percentages.
It slowly became more constant as I learnt to charge it when it was completely dead and unplug it only when it was full. (I bought an external battery pack USB charger to help with this)
I think this calls "memory effect" or?
Lithium batteries do not have memory effects anymore.
If the phone is new, try charging it completely and discharge it completely a few times. If it then still persists, the battery is probably not calibrated right.
The real size of a battery is not as stated on the cover 1900, but varies around it, depending on the manufacturing. Similar to CPUs, that get tested and then categorized for certain speeds.
So could be that you have a less optimal battery and therefore the calibration to 1900 as expected by the system is not right. So when you see 5% you are already much lower in reality.
I am new to Android, so I do not know if there are battery calibration tools out there, but I guess so.
Greetings
Christian
Solved my battery drain by updating google maps to latest version

Nope, the system will just shut down at about 5% to prevent a deep discharge of the battery which is really bad for li-poly/li-ion batteries.

[Q] Typical idle battery drain on your 8.4?

I was curious what kind of idle battery drain people are getting on their tablets/ROMs?
Measuring with Battery monitor Widget Pro, on my 8.4, running stock TW except for Towelroot, I am averaging -150ma.

Since I have an amper cable I can see the current the tablet draws when its plugged in with screen off / idle and fully charged. mine does this
0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-20-0-0-0-0-0-20-0-0-0-0-0-20
so I would say its draws a quick 20 ma every 10 seconds - but since its plugged in it might not be in the deepest sleep setting that it would be when on battery.
anyways I have no problems with it staying at 100% or 99% leaving it off for the whole day unplugged so it has very good power management in my opinion. - just have to keep the wakelock apps in check
I updated from the ng1 build to the latest nk1 build and my idle battery drain is much improved with the exact same setup running. Now down to -40-50 mah.
I have terrible battery drain randomly for no reason and I don't no what is causing the battery to drain so much. I have attached an image is there anyway of seeing what causes this much battery to drain so quick?

You should install better battery stats, available here on XDA, to pinpoint your battery usage.
Looks like there was a really battery draining event that occurred quite suddenly?

I noticed in the screenshot you have might GPS on, there could be an app running in the background abusing GPS or polling it too quickly (look for a blinking / solid white pointer Icon in the top left of the statusbar, this will tell you if something is requesting location).
GPS will drain battery very quickly and should be disabled unless it's needed.

Battery Drain while charging

My M8 could not be fully charge with any power brick.
It charge my phone before I go to bed and when I woke up in the morning the battery was 52% and the charging rate is very very very slow.
My portable Battery, Sony F2L (Out 2A) which is a very quick charger, is barely supply enough power to maintain my M8's battery but not charging it.
At first I thought it was the cable, but after I change several power bricks and cables. (Power brick: Sony 2.1A, Stock HTC, Asus, LG, UE 2.1A and Cables : BlackBerry and Sony)
The problems still persist. And today I saw the power gauge dropped, while I plugged-in with Sony Power Brick.
The only way I could make it to 100% is to switch SetCPU's governor to "Power Save" mode. Normally I use "On demand" since I got the phone and I never have a problem like this before.
Please help me on this.
M8 Thai Model already RUU convert to GPE. Running GPE stock 5.1 and rooted.
Here is my battery stats. As you can see the battery slowly drop while I was charging.
I have tried battery calibration and the problem remains.
It seem after i sleep my phone for a while the signal will be drop and drain the battery. I have no idea why this is happening
Please anyone help me on this.
You have an app or something keeping your phone awake all the time.
That line for Awake should not be solid green like that. Your phone is never going to sleep.

Also searching....this seems to be a very complicated problem. You are not the only one with this issue, and it has symptoms of both hardware and software fault. Which makes it incredibly complicated to deal with.
I am bringing this thread back to life because I started having the same problem and am looking for an answer.

Not at all....I managed to greenify or even disable any app that was wakelocking the device.
But it seems the system itself is causing the battery drain. That's if the battery drain isn't caused by hardware, since I am having very weird symptoms....such as loosing battery while phone is powered off connected to the charger.

Device Battery Sensor Stuck On 42-44 Celsius but the device is cold

Hey,
I got some strange problem, in the last week my device stuck in the temperature of 42-44 celsius when idle and for sure the phone not feel hot at all. It always moving between 42-44 and because of that the charging speed decrease drastically (Checked with Ampere and Gsam battery monitor).
What can be the reason? Just Battery sensor broken or it can be a software issue? I tried to factory rest the device but with restore of all my stuff and it still exists.
Thanks in advance for you help!

Possible solution to battery drain on Jiayu S3 (6752)

Hi!
As many, i had the problem of battery drain (it would go from 40/45% to 0% in a matter of minutes).
I orderer a new battery (not the Kompson one, the original Jiayu battery, at least it was sold as original and it even has the same serial number my previous battery had), but the problem continued!
Anyway, after much testing, here is the "solution" i have found:
As soon as you see the battery drain starting (it´s very easy to notice as you already know), go to battery settings and look at the percentage that each process spends of battery. Usually, before battery drain starts, everything looks normal, low consumption throughout all apps. But when the battery drainage kicks in, the last app you opened has an unusually high battery percentage consumption. For example, i have seen my ColorNote app at 45% consumption, Whatsapp at 50%, Reddit at 48%, etc...
These are all "normal" apps, not some shady app power hungry. What i do is, after i identify the app with unusual high power consumption (again, it´s usually the last app opened after battery drain starts) i long press on it (from the battery menu) and the i choose "Force Stop" on the app.
This immediatley stops the battery drain and the battery behaves normally and goes out at a normal rate until 1 or 2% battery!
I have tested this many times and it never failed me. Please try it to.
I think there is a little chance to catch the very moment when the battery drop start. Today I've got battery drain very quickly between 50%-40%.
I also tried some these "fixes". But the only solution is to change batteries.
people and me personally, have also found out that the enabled auto brightness control , often consumes a lot of battery after about Android 6.0
have a look also on that.
I've just tested a new Konpson battery and the battery drop changed. With originally Jiayu battery I have drop with 25%, now after 10% I guess and phone can hold some times (30 min approximately) at 1%. It's a little bit progress ;()
