[Q] Tab Pro 12.2 specific Roms? - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

1st
Are there any roms being developed specifically for the Tab Pro 12.2? I've been following THEDEVIOUS1's thread and tried his test version for the 12.2, but it's not working and I can't post there yet. I rooted my tablet and modified the platform.xml file to get full access to my external sd card. The only thing left is to get rid of Knox and whatever else Samsung did that's preventing some apps from full functionality.

In order to use my Wiimotes with a SNES emulator I had to purchase an otg to usb adapter from Samsung and a Bluetooth dongle with a CSR chipset. This does work, but you can only play until the battery runs out. Does an adapter exist that would allow me to use a BT dongle and charge my tablet at the same time. I really love this tablet, but beginning to hate this one port for everything crap. It would be great to be able to play an emulator game with Wiimotes on a big screen. Breakout box maybe?

Super Dual Box Pro

I have a Super Dual Box Pro for connecting a PS2 controller to a computer via USB. I would like to use it with my Xoom, but I can't figure out how. I connect it and go into any of the -oid series emulators (the ones that recently got yanked) and setup the mappings. Every time I press a button on the controller, it shows up "unknown". The controller seems to work at the ROM selection screen, but it doesn't work in-game in any way, shape, or form.
Is there anything I can do to make it work? If not, what can I use as an alternative (I want something that doesn't require additional batteries and is pretty cheap)?
Thanks!

[Q] Trying to repurpose xperia ion as htpc/emulation station

So i have a rooted xperia Ion. (Locked bootloader from Rogers in canada. LT28i)
I have since jumped to a galaxy s3 because i dropped the ion and cracked the screen all up (still registers touch and displays image)
So my intent is to mount this onto the back of my TV with an HDMI cable , and keep it plugged in/always on.
I have purchased the sixaxis app, and have it paired to a dedicated PS3 controller.
Basically I am treating it as a dedicated android gaming/movie console. Just to play android games that support controller, and emulation, plus netflix streaming/ web browsing etc.
I am going to use Nova launcher to setup a home-screen, and lock it to simplify. And with the mouse emulation, and sixaxis setup, i should have full control of my phone.
Has anyone here done this before? and if so, what tips/suggestion/tweaks would you suggest.
Hmm interesting set up . I also recommend purchasing a usb otg dongle for when friends or family members want play media from usb disks on that big screen. Acquiring either the XBMC or Plex app is also handy to stream media from device, SD or Usb disk memory to other devices. I would also recommend installing a cm10 and custom kernel for your device.... For the extra speed :s

[Q] XBOX 360 controller - worked with Note 1, S4, etc - NOT working for Note 8.0?

As the subject states, I was able to connect my WIRED XBOX 360 controller to my Note 1, Nexus 7 and Galaxy S4 Active using a USB OTG cable and play ANY games that support controller. NO mapping required - Dead Trigger, GTA, etc.
As a matter of fact, when I connect my XBOX 360 Controller, the analog stick work in the home screen and application folder.
However, with the Note 8.0.. nada. I know it's not the USB OTG cable because I can connect a memory stick to it and the Note 8.0 recognizes it.
Is there something in the Note 8.0 that prevent game controller to function?

it works with some third party apps (joy/bt center( enabling ime support but does not seem to work on it's own. seems like they disabled hid/game controller supoort or does not come factory activated game controller drivers.
the light on the controller starts blinking after a while, so something is there, but not enough to be any use.

Crap, that's not good. I didn't know that Samsung removed this specifically for the Note 8.0. Doesn't make sense at all, given that it works with pretty much all the Samsung device I own (S4, Note).
I like using the built-in support from the game (Dead Trigger) without installing 3rd party apps.
Oh well, I guess it is what it is. I may just replace my Note with the Nexus 7 then since I play games a lot.
Use ps3 controller. However there are many ways to connect xbox controller. Search in YouTube

TBH, some games might just still work out of the box,
I don't have any of those such games to try to check. (i'm more of a retro gamer)
Thing is if the USB BT/ Joy can use it then so should likely any natively supporting games that support Xbox 360 controller on android.
however for me it does not work on it's own in some of the emulators like drastic DS etc.

[Q] Is there any way how to play games on TV or PC?

I know there were many topics about hidden HDMI under the cover, some people even tried to add hdmi port, I also tried to find a developer model of Xperia Play (without luck of course) with HDMI port. I know we can play videos, pictures and music through wifi in official app, but that's all I know. I also read about no MHL support even with Android 4+, cause it's a hardware problem, is it true?
So I'm asking is there any way how to play games on TV or PC for example through wifi (or something else?) or not?
It's not a hardware problem, it just doesn't exist.
There were early pre released play devices that did have HDMI out, but I don't think it's possible to get your hand on them, it would be a collector item if you can even find anyone willing to sell it.
What you should do is buy an Ouya or an Android TV stick, then use a wireless or Bluetooth controller. Or get an nVidia Shield.

Are you just trying to connect via bluetooth? I haven't done this in a long time (way back on my Xoom) but I thought you needed a 3rd party app and Root access to link them.
Someone confirm? Would love to play Soulcraft II - with a gamepad.

Moga has an app can be downloaded from the play store (moga pivot) and yes it uses bluetooth. This should work without root. If you google moga is a big name which should work on android 2.3 and above. I think the reason is samsung which is now blocking all 3rd part devices from 4.4.2 but I am not sure. I think the only option left is the samsung gamepad..
Not for $100 bucks. That's plain crazy
I use an OTG cable and PS4 controller.

It just supports it. Yes I have rooted but I have 3 Tab Pros as well that are not rooted and it works just fine on them as well. It also worked on my Tab S before I rooted. OTG is always supported on android devices.

Did you have to download any apps for button management?
I use my ps3 controller as gamepad with an adapter and it's working flawlessly. I've tested it with Dead Trigger 2 and Rayman Fiesta Run.

If anyone gets a wired xbox controller to work, please let us know what you did. I was totally just hoping it was going to work and it doesn't. (at least for me). I just get a blinking light on the xbox controller. I have the 10.5.
I even rooted and installed USB/BT JoystickCenter Gold Demo but then that gets a 'can not get access to /dev/uinput error'

try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/orig-development/kernel-skyhigh-tw-kernel-t2806563
Thanks so much for suggesting something but I'm too anxious to try it, since that thread says it's only for the SM-T700 (8.4") and I have the 10.5". He even specifically states it in post #3.

Has anyone been able to get the sixaxis app working? I can't... I believe it has to do with a missing Samsung Bluetooth protocol in newer Samsung devices.
That was one of my main reasons for getting a tablet!
Not that it matters but I emailed Samsung support and their response: Thank you for contacting Samsung. I see that you would like to know whether Galaxy Tab S supports hooking up to a wired xbox USB controller. I do understand your concern and requirement. However, this Tablet does not support wired xbox USB controller. Unfortunately, as of now theere are no compatible controllers that use an USB OTG cable for this model from Samsung and Samsung does not have any tested results on using PS3 controller with the Tablet. I hope the above provided information address your concern.
controller recharges the tablet
is it possible to connect the controller (that has a battery pack) to the tablet and recharge the tablet?
eg. can a xbox one controller, that has a battery pack, be connected with an mhl cable/usb cable to a tablet and be used to charge the tablet? so the tablet is not drained while playing games.
(i asked this in the accessories forum too, apologies)
I use PS3 Controller wireless using Sixaxis Controller app.. For the first time setup need otg, but after pairing no need the otg . Can use wireless.

Thanks for the info! I just ordered an otg cable. Are you able to get two controllers working with the six axis app, or just one? My goal is to be able to use emulators with two Wireless PS3 controllers. Thanks!

I tried that, but the Galaxy Tab won't find the controllers. I've set it up on multiple devices, but couldn't get it working on this one.
I read that the newer Samsung devices don't come with a Bluetooth protocol that is required for sixaxis to work... I hope I'm wrong!
