CWM Stock Sense Backup For Tmobile version - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Okay so this is a weird issue. Every time I try to move a app to the left side of the screen it's as if their is a invisible wall and I am not able to move it. Not only that the sensitivity is non existent and any app that is on the left side cannot be moved or opened I have factory restored it twice and nothing. I also can't restore my Stock Sense Backup in TWRP because I can't slide to unlock, since the left side is unresponsive. If anyone here has a Sense Stock Rom backup for CWM I would greatly appreciated it.

[Q] Veeeeeery long nandroid restore

I flashed DC 3.5 yesterday on top of my 3.2.3, and it was working flawlessly. However, I realized that some of my apps didn't like the upgrade, so I was planning on restoring my nandroid of my 3.2.3 installation, backing them up with TB and then restoring. I began the restore process and it has been running for over 1.5 hours so far. This seems excessive but I don't want to just pull the battery out if this could be normal.
I haven't changed from the default SD card that came with my EVO, so I know that it isn't the fastest card. Some advice would be appreciated.
Edit: I gave up waiting, pulled the battery, and restored my froyo backup. This restored in about 3-4 minutes, so that tells me there was something wrong with my 3.2.3 backup. That's obnoxious
Try restoring one more time...if it doesn't work then restore froyo again
I have similar problem, I am trying to do a nandroid restore. It's been going for two 1.5 hours.
I was on CM6 RC1 with Snap V7.b kernel.
Trying to nandroid restore fresh 3.1.0.1.
The restore process has completely filled my screen with the dots it's been going for SOOOOOOOOO long. What should I do?
If I pull the battery will it toast the phone? phone is unresponsive to button pushes but the dots are still going. PLEASE HELP

You should be fine pulling the battery. If you've been running this for 1.5 hours as you say, I'm sure you wasted a significant amount of juice. just leave the phone off and charge it for an hour and then boot up into recovery and try again.
If it happens once more, either select a different nandroid or flash a new rom again.

[Q] Accidently deleted some files using titanium backup.

Hello guys/gals
I made a huge mistake and i hope someone can help me out.I was using titanium backup and deleted some files by mistake.I believe one was the rom. When rebooting my device it boots then gets stuck on 4g screen.I have rooted my phone using unrevoked 3. When going into recovery i did a reset and finally i can get to my main screen but its blank. The only thing on top of the bar is the time, signal, gps icon and battery icon.I dont know where to download things and what flash means.
I know you guys are experts and i do greatly appreciate the help.By the way im a noob when it coms to rooting, roms, etc. So please put it in English easy way to fix.
Thanks in advance. If you can make it simple for me that would be better.
You can go to the app drawer and launch the market app. Download titanium backup from there. So long you didn't delete your backups, you should be able to restore your apps there. You will still need to manually set up your homescreens.
Get to duh choppa!
Deleted files
How can i access the market if no rom is on the phone. Its a blank screen. If i reboot using volume down and power i can see my sd card and there is titanium backup in there.Does nothing though.
You deleted your home launcher. Reinstall one via adb or flash zip. And next time do a nandroid before hand.
Deleted files
Thank you for helping. But again there is no screen. The only thing i can really do is go into recovery using the volume down button and pressing power.I really am stupid when it comes to how to flash, where to put it,adb shell. That is why i need kindergarten instructions. lol.
Shouldnt you just restore a nandroid..then go from there??
Evo - Myn 2.2 RLS 3 - Clockwork - HBoot .76
Assuming you didn't do a nandroid backup, you are going to need to reflash a rom. What rom you choose is up to you, but without holding the phone in hand, I cant really tell what you deleted. There are a number of things that could have done that. Also, for future reference, a rom is your entire operating system. You can't delete that from titanium backup, but you can delete many important components. Next time try the freeze function in titanium backup to see if removing that component breaks anything.
Did you try flashing the original rom over top of the one on the phone?
If you did a Nandroid before removing, then go into recovery and restore that backup.
What's your ROM?
Which Recovery are you using?
I done a noob thing!
Ok, so i like to think im fairly geeky and know what the hell im doing. but something tells me i fudged up pretty badly. I have Lg optimus T (LG P509) running rooted froyo (2.2). i flashed it to gingerbread 2.3 sometime ago but some errr lots of functions didnt work. i recovered back to stock 2.2. however i deleted and cleaned out my sdcard. heres the problem. LG had an open update via computer. and if its one thing i learned on these forums is to never recieve the OTA or loose root. I was hoping the OTA would be gingerbread 2.3. well it wasnt. it was froyo 2.2.2. and i lost root. i then rerooted using gingerbreak. yes 2.2.2 rooted. then used titanium backup to deleted stock apps and demo games. i somehow deleted my home funtion. on startup my screen is locked in android name. if i ever get pasted it i only have call options. my home button doesnt work. my LG updater on my computer wont reflash/reupdate/restore. in kindergarden terms is there anyway i can manually restore my phone to stock or any rom? and more importantly HOW????? sorry for the essay post
If you have a recovery go to that mount to your PC put a ROM on the root of your sd card and flash it that way make sure you wipe first hope that can help some what.

[Q] Can't find nandroid

Hi gang:
I have my EVO 4G running MIK2.59. Installed AMON RA 3.07 and did rename the file in the root directory. Seems like I cannot get into Nandroid to do a backup. Power the unit down and restart with the volume down while depressing the power button. I get the white HBOOT menu but when I get to the backup / restore option and select recovery the phone takes off and goes back to Android system recovery menu. It worked once when I first installed it last week but not since.
Another question, which I think I already know the answer to is can I change the rom and / or kernel without having to reinstall every program. I have Titanium plus installed but that doesn't seem to put everything back into place.
Go back to v2.3 till dres works out the kinks in 3.0.7

For your SMS and Mms I always use "mybackup", this app is great for backing up all your text pic mesg and keyboard dictionary. TB is great for restoring the app+data for all over your other apps. You cannot flash a new rom and keep all your apps the same state. That's why TB comes in handy to restore your apps after you flash your new rom. When you flash a new kernel the only thing that changes is the new kernel and your rom and apps stay un affected.
Great...
All my questions answered for now.
But now I need to find another ROM (MIK 2.59) works fine but I would like to have the capability of turning on 4G if I want to.
Listening to any and all opinions.

Every rom that I have flashed have always had the ability to turn of 4g if you want to. It's usually in the pull down notifications or you can (menu/settings/wireless and network settings/4G settings) here you can also turn the 4G off.

Help with CWM restoring

I just recently went from the stock kernel with cwm eg30 deodexed root/busy box with 3g wifi hack to the new EL13 located below. (deodexed and modem flashed)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389874
I did a backup in titanium pro and cwm before starting.
The flashing went ok for the modem and the rom. I rebooted after wiping the cache and all and everything seemed ok.
I then started getting force closes and the launcher/phone would reboot. So thinking that there was some app data not installed right i went to do a restore in titanium and it would not complete do to the locking up/rebooting. I booted into cwm recovery to do an advanced restore and it keeps saying it cant access the folder ==> no files found and then goes back to main menu. I tried the fixed permissions and no change. The files are there I can see them on the internal sd as well as the copy i made to the external sd.
Is there something else I need to do? i cant seem to get it to restore.
I did end up clearing user data through cwm and it seemed to be successful except for the secure android piece of it. I rebooted an no force closes. I then ran titanium all apps+data +system data. 90% seems to restore except for widgets being set up on the home screen and widget locker. I can reset those up manually.
I want to make sure I am not going to have more force closing so I would prefer to restore all from the cwm nand if possible.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Something is wrong with the current recoveries for our phones in my opinion.
Maybe it's something we are doing, would be nice if a DEV could speak up but here is what I've noticed. I'm runing Calk's E4GT Rom. Is uses Rouge kernels/recovery and 99% of the time when I do a Nandroid backup when I try to restore is says something like files folders couldn't be found and drops back to menu.
Now if I mount my phones internal memory OR SDCard depending what I used, I'm finding my recoveries ON my device but for example I'm finding them in places like:
/smmc/smmc/bmmc/*
or
/sdcard/sdcard/*
* being the actual directory the backup is in.
That said if I MOVE those date coded folders to /clockworkmod/backup/* all the sudden the phone sees them.
It's making the Nandroid backups in the WRONG dir 99% of the time and I've had this happen at least a dozen or so times. Matter of fact, it just happened yesterday. My Nandroids showed up in /sdcard/sdcard/* so I moved the dated folder to the clockworkmod folder as mentioned and poof, it works. Then I made a another Nandroid backup and it made it in the right directory (/clockworkmod/backup/).
Who knows... DEV's? On a side note, I also had this happen with just the standard CWM as well as the ACS hacked one, not just the Rouge version.
Thanks. I figured this is what was happening. I did try coping a few things and nothing would help in my case. I did run another backup and it finally seen that one on the sd card.
When i do a restore do I need to wipe user data ect first?
The reason i asked, is I am on the EL13 and i am trying to trouble shoot why at certain points after installing apps or going into usb mode (usb debuging on) and then dismounting the phone, then unplugging the cable my phone freaks out, and basically ends up doing a quick reboot, (quick sprint splash screen and then back to the lock screen as the launcher loads) well tries to load. It usually fails. Then i have to power cycle the phone and all seems fine. Sometimes I get in a reboot loop though. I don't as far as I know have any kind of app moved to sd card outside of games that would have a service running that would freak out when in usb mode.
btw the apps were set up the same way that they were on my stock rooted only eg30 image and i had no issues like this whatsoever on that. I have only had these problems since going to the el13 on here. Both the deodexed and odexed and the sock odin version.
So I did a nan restore before the installing of my apps. Just a clean cwm/root el13 image and when I booted back all was fine until i install my apps again. Cleanly from market or amazon. When I try to move the game to the internal storage via the built in app management program it errors out/fails then I do it again and it moves over. Every now and then i get a device is full error message when installing apps when i clearly have tons of room left on the rom and internal sd.)
reg storage is only 200 megs used with 1.8 gig free and the internal sd has 10 gig free.
So I dont know why this would be happening when I do a restore with cwm. Maybe i didnt do something right.
I did wipe the dalvik/cache before booting though. it had no effect.
do a complete wipe, and restart all over again. the issue lies in the recoveries most of the time because one kernel uses clockwork while others use their own recoveries. restoring backups made by other recoveries can give you issues. i personally only like clockwork recoveries and the others just annoy me lol.

They were all clock work backups/restores from the same build/flash/os build/version
Would even restoring some app data via titanium be bad? I dont do all data just on some games, and apps. Never anything system related
For me this issue was NOT because I changed recoveries which all of them are based on CWM anyway but that is besides the point.
I could have Team Rouges Recover based on CWM flashed, wipe my phone, and this issue comes up.
Seems to do it with all the recoveries though on and off.

Not able to Move apps to the Left. Is their a fix?

Okay so this is a weird issue. Every time I try to move a app to the left side of the screen it's as if their is a invisible wall and I am not able to move it. Not only that the sensitivity is non existent and any app that is on the left side cannot be moved or opened. I'm hoping this makes somewhat any sense. I am including a picture as a example. I am rooted on GPE ROM. I have been using this Rom for over a month and this happened all of a sudden. I have factory restored it twice and nothing. I also can't restore my Stock Sense Backup in TWRP because I can't slide to unlock, because the left side is unresponsive.

If the same thing happened to me, I'd jump on google play and download one of the many free "drawing" programs that presents the user with a full screen area to just draw lines and such on. I'd use that to ensure that I could draw at all on the left side of the screen. It might be that the left side of device isn't getting any input anymore. (If you were still on sense, there's a diagnostic program from HTC you could use for the same purpose.)
If the left side of the device is dead, you should consider restore the device to stock, testing again, and if it still fails, return the device to HTC for repair/replacement.

You know... that has me stumped. My first thought was to use CWM Recovery, but I think TWRP backups aren't compatible with CWM. You might want to post in the thread containing "collection of stock..." (in the general m8 section) to specifically request a CWM backup of the stock firmware for your carrier/model. Explain why it needs to be CWM (because you can't swipe in TWRP.)
Take care and good luck

The latest version of TWRP supports USB mouse for devices with cracked screens. You need a USB OTG cable, but it really costs nothing. You will then be able to use TWRP.
