Sure, I am doing it since some weeks ago. I even designed and 3D printed and QI charging base:

Very interesting...
Can you tell me which of the two connectors on the left side is for plus (+) and which is for ground?
I am thinking about installing a Qi receiver.

Did you directly place the cell phone on the charger or you had installed a special cover (like s view cover) to charge the cell phone?

Is the wireless receiving plate already in the phone, rather than on the s-view cover? I dont see any special charging cover on the OP's phone, though I cant see if its charging or not?

I tried to install a charging pad in my Note 3 Neo.
After several tries I think the two connectors will not work as charging connectors.
In my opinion, they are used only to identify the S-View Cover.
After installing a Qi-receiver the charger recognized the charging pad, but there was no charging massage on the phone.
My S-View Cover didnĀ“t work with installed charging pad.
The pictures above show only the charging station. On the display ist no indicator for charging.
So I believe, that it is not possible to charge the Note 3 Neo via Qi.
If someone has a wirking Qi-Charger I am very interested in this solution.

I can see in your Google Plus photo that you are using a Galaxy S III receiving module. How did you managed to make it fit. Does it fits natively, or did you have to make some adjustments to it? How is the back cover coming, any extra thickness in there? Please share more details (with pics:laugh.

Anyone heard about this? I thought the pins on the back were for a dock coming up, or is this buried in their for future variants?

Wireless charging requires special hardware to be installed in the phone if I remember it correctly. I don't think that is installed in the HTC One X so I doubt we will ever see that. (It isn't wireless charging if you have to connect the phone with those pins on the back).
Anyhow I don't see the advantage of the technology atm, you really have to put your phone on a "table". So it really isn't that wireless, it just requires no cables to be plugged in...
As I understand it, the ONE X does not have the hardware for wireless charging. I think Paul has found something in our ROM that indicates HTC are planning to include this option in a later phone they design. Although the ROM is different on each phone it includes bits and pieces from past and future models and so can provide clues to what may appear in newer models in the future.
The pins are for charging in the dock
Did he mean the Qi thing? I thought the Qi thing is capable of doing wireless charging by using magnetic waves and that's why it supports all phones.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Has anyone used this type of wireless charger? It's not made in the US and it is not a powermat brand. I'm thinking of ordering it but I don't know anything about this item.

[Idea] Wireless charger mod without altering the phone at all

I dont know anything about electronics but.... Can an power bank case be modded by attaching the wires of the inductor module to the male micro usb part of the case .... http://www.dhgate.com/product/3000m...battery-case/140149386.html#s1-8-1|3772011264 I think something like this would be a good candidate.... or better yet is there a case for n7000 like the iphone ones that act like a dock with built in speakers....etc it would be even better
Note: if any one goes commercial with this ... I want a cut of the action..... LOL

I just bought exactly that case with modding in mind, as built-in battery is almost non existant. I'm waiting for Palm charging kit and soldering iron - will be reporting progress or failure as soon as possible.

After some dremel action and removal of original battery.
The hole needed to be a little bit bigger than battery, to allow some space for sliding into "craddle" inside the case without breaking anything.
With said battery for comparision. Producer claims it's 3000 mAh. I respectfully disagree, after few days of regular charge/discharge cycle this sleeve battery as able to add about 30% to original Samsung cell. Not good enough.
So I jammed in extended Mugen pack and am a sort of crossroads here.
I can connect to the cases old wiring another battery pack or wireless charging coils or maybe, somehow, both. Anyway, it's work in progress and at least my Notes usb port is save >]
On semi related note, this is tempting..
Any updates?

I use it on my S3. The charging speed is not that fast compared to USB, which I think is well-known. The back cover gets a bit warm also, and I have an Otterbox Commuter case as well, which gets a little bit warm also. It charges just fine through the case.
This is the one that I ordered, as it came with the charging pad and receiver for the phone.
http://www.fasttech.com/product/1146700-qi-inductive-wireless-charging-upgrade-kit-for-sam
Hope this helps!
I have one of the first gen receiver pads and it charges faster than USB but slower than AC.
check ebay. use search terms like "i9300 qi reciever"
just get the reciever pad.
the best charger pad imo is the nokia ones. they're regularly on sale from 20 -25 bucks for the most part. just do some searching online.

Any Wireless charging system or standard that has the two contacts to fit the contacts that are in the Battery compartment and fits will work....A wireless Standard isn't built into the phones, just the Transmitter and Receiver Coils....
QI wireless charging is nice... However I notice the connector from the QI receiver will interfere with the smart cover slot anyone?
look what i found^^

You can find a quality charger kit on ebay... just to be safe... look for "Top Rated Seller" and someone with high feedback score to be safe..
oh, and because i'm such a sweetheart:

18 bucks for a really decent charging pad. I have 2. one for my bed side and one on my desk.
This one works great with mine and I have the lifeproof case on it.

Of course you can not break yusb port, only one drawback - the phone longer charged

Hi to all,
We want to announce new Motorola Moto mod we are working on, Solar Z sun-powered charger with battery.
Simply leave Mod in the sun and snap it to the phone when you need additional power and it will be transferred to the phone battery. Charge your phone without cables.

Solar Z has a simple design and easy to use approach. It has no movable parts, one button only, however, electronic design is latest with high-level integration components.
It contains 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery which charges to 80% in 12 hours on an average sunny day, compatible with all Moto Z phones.
Let us know your thoughts!
as you working on the MOD design, is there a way to use the pogo pins w/o any extra circuit/chip to charge or supply with power?

Unfortunately no. Just short time after connecting Mod to the phone pin (corner top left hand size) is open (from phone perspective) and can accept charging. However, if communication through main connector between phone and mod does not exist, this pin will be closed from phone side and phone can not be charged. Answer is that you can not just hook ub battery or anything else to charge phone. You actually need micro-controller who knows how to talk to the phone.

QI Charger stand. Difference?

Hello there fellers...
Is there any difference between last gen. wireless charging stand and the new one released together for S8?
Does the new one have faster charging speed?
If you mean this one,

I got one and did not like it. Unlike the Samsung Qi charger I had purchased for my car, this one seems to cycle constantly. So it goes on battery, and the phone discharges for a while, then it starts charging, then you get a full charge and it turns off and the cycle starts over. I found it too annoying to use.
Thanks. The new convertible stand looks great but is a bit expensive for now.
Edit: I read on a review for this model that "the correct power supply must be used for it to function properly."

If you mean that it should use the cables/wall plug that it came with, yes, that's true. I have two of them and without a quickcharging cable/cable, it doesn't charge/work as a quick charger.
Sindroid,
Here is the one I have been using
https://www.amazon.ca/Wireless-Char...24826&sr=8-1&keywords=spigen+wireless+charger
Works very well, not high speed but 3.5 hours for full charge and very sturdy. Also has the rubberized grip so very sturdy for the phone to sit on as well. Highly recommend it.

This looks very cool. Does it come with cables and a wall plug? I see "a" cable, but not sure if comes with all the necessary cables. I found it on the US site for $25 (guessing that's what it is at the exchange for CAD).
I'm using the new convertible charger. So far so good.
