To diagnose, flash back to stock GB27 or if you want root, flash back to stock rooted GB27.
After that, install all your apps like normal and wait a few days to see it battery life gets any better.
If it doesn't, I assume you have a bad battery. I know from experience. My stock samsung battery died even faster than that on all roms I tried and finally I had to replace it.
Let me know what happens! Good luck!

Chrome wouldnt let me download Revolt, said it was malicous (Hasnt done it for any other rom) but might just be my chrome being difficult. Anything FLxx based was giving me crap for battery life at best. I test with GB as earlier suggested and that was fine. Right now im running The Blu Kuban with the EL29 baseband, and thats been treating me good. I can easily pull a days usage on it.
Now i have a question. The Blu Kuban is 4.0.4 and its thread says its FL24 based. Why then did EL29 baseband from the GB Rom i had previously stick??

I just got mine and was wondering is it worth rooting becausr stock is already fast and stable
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
It's always worth rooting.
Right now, the performance increase isn't the biggest reason, because this phone can handle anything we through at it with ease.
The root_only features, however, definitely are.
Backups, tethering, painless restores, themes, ad hoc wifi, and all the other goodies that custom Roms provide really make a big difference.

You really should check out the juggernaut rom and also faux123 kernal. I can't express how much faster the sg2 runs and no stuttering or lag. The phone also has much better battery life it's really amazing. Also no spying carrier iq, no bloatware etc. you can free wifi tether. You can over clock or under clock. My phone has never worked so good.
Definitely recommend the following:
Load cwm recovery
Install latest juggernaut rom 4.1
Install latest faux123 kernal
Not required but also install latest modem kl1
If you do then install swype beta keyboard
I use go launcher highly recommended.

DOOOOOOOOOO it!!!! You'll love your phone twice as much. There are some awesome themes and roms. You can make it even smoother than it is. Go to dev section after and try gingersnap with either kernel. Smooth as butter

That's a tough question mate. There really is no best. Its a matter of figuring out what you want and what roms do that the best. I recommend trying them all. Personally I'm a cyanogenmod fanboi and I try to run it on pretty much everything I own.

main reason u should root and install a custom rom is BATTERY LIFE! lol u more than double your battery life, get all the bloat out of your phone, CIQ etc, plus you do get a performance increase, and its more stable than stock.. hands down best thing you could ever do to your phone.

[Q] Best ROM for EPiC Touch?? Stable/battery life

Just got my wife an Epic Touch 4G, I wanted to install CM9 on it, but I don't see it anywhere? I want something stable, with good battery life. What ROMS do you recommend ? can be TW/AOSP, as long as its STABLE and everything works. Shes rocking stock ICS on it now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815854
I use that rom as my dd. Its calk's worked baked in to ff18 with some other stuff. Its almost stock feel. Most bloat removed. Ton of mods.
There is another awesome rom called blu kuban. Not sure if it fits your needs. Its super themed with awesome blue and black colors. Has its own kernel with a ton of cpu tweaks. Blu kuban is like the ultimate rom.

You could also try the "black" ROM, it's very stable and has a great battery life. It is off of ff18 right now but is going to move to fh13 soon.
Its funny how much this question gets asked. I would read up thoroughly on how to flash Roms and root or whatever it is you you want to do and go to the development section read about what is going on and how to install whatever ROM you want to try and try it, see how it works for you and if you don't like take it off. Trial and error is your best bet just make sure you aren't blindly flashing and installing stuff if you don't know what you are doing. Qbking77 has a lot of helpful videos on YouTube also.

The reason we started making our own ROMs was the instabilities, short-comings, and plain mistakes made by SamSprint in the stock ROMs.. you know, like the eMMC brick bug? That's a far cry from stable imo..

Awesome, thanks for the reply! Just wondering, can you define 'heavy'? I personally use my phone at school all the time, I listen to music through headphones about 1/2 of my total day(4 hours or so) and I will also spend a lot of time texting, browsing the web, and using apps that use data. I'm honestly constantly on my phone, and will have to charge it around 3 times per day.

Right now I'm on miui trying it out for the first time getting used to no app drawer. Favorite ROM for a daily (if I had one lols) would have to be Living Rejects. I flash it at least twice a week. Its pretty much my goto when I need a good solid dependable ROM for GPS and coverage while traveling. The battery life is effin amazing and music come out really loud and clear. But I will say once our beloved devs get cm10/AOKP/PA etc running solid for jb I will prolly be going back to PA or try out KK again. I love the UK customization options. I ran ICS aokp as a daily until jb started seeping its way into my veins now I'm flashing like there's no tomorrow can't wait for volume bug fix ^^

What's the best kernel for wild for the night ver 4.2.2?

I'm really hesitant to flash a different kernel with this rom. I'm having crazy battery loss but I love the rom and don't want to change. Any suggestions from someone wiser than I?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
If its stock kernel you should try deleting useless apps.
I used the stock kernel and i have 15+ hours battery life. Also try using different modems, try the FI25 modem
At this point in time, source code for the JB kernel for the E4GT has not been released. Therefore, there are not any custom kernels. You need to stick with the kernel that came with the rom.

my battery life has been good in standby, a bit bad if I run something like the camcorder. In the past, I've had the best luck with CPU usage apps to determine which are using the processor more than you would like. I like Watchdog Task Manager Lite and Wake lock detector.
DO NOT FLASH A DIFFERENT KERNEL ON AOSP ROMS!!!!!

My phone drains 0.2-0.3% per hour on the stock kernel (on wifi with a decent router). The TW custom kernels are not worth using, in my opinion. Now AOSP on the other hand... yikes. Pretty much have to use them.

I'm running HyperDrive Rom and Ktoonsez Kernel. I have tweaked much of the cpu frequencies and used the ktoon governor. However, my battery life compared to the stock rom isn't that great.
Every phone is different so will run different on your phone. I do recommend Dandroid. It now has wifi calling. Complete based on T999. It used to be a port. It's super smooth with great battery life. And it's Cyanogenmod themed.

There are no "best" rom/kernel combinations for battery. It varies from phone to phone. You could try testing different TouchWiz roms and kernels, but remember to make a nandroid before doing so. Some roms you could try are wicked, stockorama, hyperdrive, etc. For the kernels you should use the stock kernel for stability or ktoonsez.
