I created several Zooper widgets and saved them using autosave. But I want to merge 2 widgets into 1 without having to manually enter every module. I can't use the file open options, since it will overwrite previous entries. Is there a way to merge 2 widgets in an easy way?

Crap! Guess I have to do it the hard way than. Thanks
I don't know if I understand the question, but did you try download widgets (templates) to PC (file extension is zw, but it is regular zip file) and merge it's content, upload it back to the phone (to the same directory) and then open it?
sorry for my english
Tried that, but there are overlapping files and when I zipped it back with zw extension, Zooper says corrupt file

Less than an hour ago I decided to skin my statusbar. What I do is open SystemUI.apk with 7zip, extract everything from drawable folders and modify them. Now, I've got a question. Is it enough to replace png files in apk with modded ones, or I should somehow sign the apk file?
Thanks in advance.

Good question! I'm also interested in this.
Can't remember well whether it will work without resigning but I always sign the system apk / user apk after doing any modification.
Unsign apk normally get installed when it is placed at system/app but will not work when put it at sd-ext/app_s.

Got it. One more question - which tool do you use for signing?

Auto-sign for signing on PC and Signapktic (from Market) for signing on the phone.

Search for "apk tool" here on xda and you'll have what you need for theming and signing and more.
via xda app
System apps are NEVER signed.
If you don't extract (just open in 7zip or winrar) you can just drag new images in. If prompted for compression level, Choose "store". When finished, simply close the file with the x.
Only if you want to change xml files, need you decompile

Umm, I thought that I have to sign it with "platform" key...
BTW, which PNG is responsible for statusbar background? The closest one I found is "statusbar_bg_tile", 1x1 black image. I want to use gradient background, and have created one full background image and one 9-patch, but dunno what to do - simply replace statusbar_bg_tile with statusbar_bg/statusbar_bg.9 or also modify some xml? In statusbar.xml I can't find any reference to statusbar_bg_tile PNG.

What is the best way to lets say, extract a notification or ringtone folder from a zipped rom and transfer them to my current running rom? So it replaces the current one. I know you can move one at the time, but it takes forever.
Thanks in advance

If you have knowledge of adb create a ringtones folder which hold the ringtones you wanna add.
Adb push ringtones /system/media/audio/ringtones
This should merge them in.
Using a file explorer you can likely use a similar method. Create a folder named ringtones. Move it with root to system/media/audio. This should merge as well. Make sure to backup your stock ones or at least have them handy from another rom just in case.

Cool thanks. I have knowledge of abd. It seemed like when I did it last time all it did was add the whole folder inside the existing one, without actually replacing it...

Right. You might have pushed it to syststem/media/audio like pushing an app to system/app.
Try pushing it to the folder specifically system/media/audio/ringtones. Should make the difference.

Or you can always add them to your rom zip prior to flashing or add them now and reflash rom
So i wanted to finally try uccw after hearing so much about it. I dont know how to use the app to make my own themes it looks so complicated. But I found a couple that I like on the web. I downloaded the file and need help importing it. I unzipped the downloaded file and inside it has 4 files: one is a true type font file, second is a uccw file, and the last two are png images. My question is where do these go?
So far after reading around the web I know to put .uzip files in the uccw folder on my sd card.
I put the uccw file into the uccw folder but dont know where to put the font , and png files. i tried placing them all in that folder but when i go to import from the app it doesnt show anything..
Could someone please explain where to put these files and correctly import them? This is all new territory to me,
Bump. Anyone?

I found out that uccw file goes in the uccw folder. The font goes in a fonts folder on the sd card. But where do the png image files go? I have a image_fonts folder inside the uccw folder so I put them there for now. When I open the app I still can't get it to import the skin. However when I use the widget the skin is there. But it's not displayed properly. It's not using the png files I don't think. And there is also an ugly logo.
Here is a pic of what I mean

This what my uccw folder looks like and all of them work properly. You see a folder with the same name as the uzip file under each uzip, the .PNG or picture is in that folder. The weather icons are in a folder named weather. This app definitely has a bit of a learning curve but is pretty cool once you get the hang of it. Hope this helps and good luck!
okay ill try making a folder of the skin and putting the png files in there. But the files I have are uccw files not uzip files. I think its from an older version.
I hope I understand your question correctly. You should be able to import the uzip files directly into UCCW. In the app, press menu, select 'import skins,' navigate to where you have the skins (uzip files) stored, then select that file. UCCW should load everything up, placing all the files within the uzip file in the appropriate directories, and, voilĂ , you can now use the skin of your choice. Hope this helps. Good luck.

True, basically don't unzip or do anything with the .uzip file. And if I remember right, you can import the file from wherever you downloaded it to. It really is a cool app once you get used to it. With hotspots and all it has become my all in one widget basically. Good luck with the import, just remember, the app does the work. I'm still trying to build my own, that is taking some time to learn. I'm not sure if you know of this, but here's a spot where there are lots of premade files. They are throughout but there are some great ones in there.

Enjoy.
Thanks for all the help guys appreciate it.

ok i don't know where you guys see the import option but in the latest version is missing
Just restored my phone, but UCCW will not let me import any of my saved files. There isn't even an 'Import' selection when I use the 'New' button...what's up? The file I want to import is already on my phone, as a .uccw...
Most frustrating...had a few brief moments where I could create my own by getting my images from Photos, but that stopped working, too...
Hey guys. I have installed various apps in my phone and when I try to find the installed folder using a file manager, it's like all over the place. Most of them are inside the /sdcard/android/data... but some are just in the root of the phone storage.
Is there a way for me to know the path of a shortcut just like when you right click a shortcut in the desktop from your PC?
Thanks.
/system/app and /data/app.
Application files will have an .apk extension.
Corrected typo.

As previous poster said but .apk instead of .spk
The apps store their data where ever they want though. /data/data, /sdcard/, /sdcard/data/, /sdcard/android/data/, others.
Shortcuts work different in android. You use the shortcuts from the app list in your launcher. You can create shortcuts on launcher by long pressing an open space also.
One other way is to use intents to call a app but that's pretty advanced

Thanks guys. Reason I asked is I'm trying to find the path of apps I want to bind on SD using directory bind and its hard knowing where they are installed.
Remember in PC when we right click a shortcut, click properties, we can see the path of the installed files. Is there something like this in android?
Hello everyone!
I have a problem with a Chinese tablet
this tablet is not bad as hardware but an awful launcher. They started with the simplest solutions, or change the launcher with others on the market. but every time you restart the tablet returns the old one.
with root explorer I entered the launcher between system app and tried to give the other as the default launcher. no way. each reboot resets.
I tried to move away the default launcher (hklauncher.apk) so that he could not use it in startup and so on every reboot ask me which launcher to start and once selected, then takes it and it works. but decidedly uncomfortable that every time you have to choose the launcher.
Now the way 2:
or I find which file system change to start an alternative launcher rather than hklauncher.apk. but I have no idea what file to edit (I found in the frameworks folder khmanager.jar and unzipping files inside there are a lot of files for each type of setting but have not found nor if there is one that defines the launcher.
change the apk of the alternative launcher: if I change the package name from blablabla.apk in hklauncher.apk and I insert it in the app system probabily it will start by default. but with apk tool you can not unzip the apk so that it is usable.
anyone have any idea what files I have to modify to change the system launcher?
or is there any idea how to change the package name of the alternative launcher?
thank you so much
Thankzz
