If you make a Nandroid backup on TWRP or CWM, or download the stock RUU, then you can always come back to stock.

Correct. I used to switch back and forth between sense and aosp on the M7. As long as you have a backup you'll be good

The only thing is that's different is, if you decide to convert the phone to a GPE phone with the GPE RUU, you have to use the stock RUU to go back to sense.

But if I don't want to turn It to GPE just custom Rom. Nothing will happen when I flash back to sense?

No, you need a stock ruu. This will return your device to stock. Search www.shipped-roms.com/android/buzz for a tmobuk ruu and then run it on the phone

**answered** [Q] Nandroid still valid?

I used my stock nandroid backup to upgrade to official sense 5(upgrading the hboot in the process), then reflashed my custom rom, without backing sense 5 stock.
If I needed to return to stock, can I still use the backup (sense 4), or will there be a problem since I updated hboot?

Means that we can restore 3.20.401.1 nand backup on 4.18.401.2?

Not like that, if you restore 3.20.401.1 , have to wipe out 4.18.401.2.

Is there a way to get the HTC One M8 back to 100% stock?

Hey guys I rooted my HTC One M8 a few days ago. But is there any way to get it to 100% stock again? If not, will it be available in the near future? Thanks.

Not yet. There's no 100% stock rom out, nor is there an RUU available.
That's what you'd want to wait for, since the RUU is a complete stock rom. No ETA on that unfortunately.
Good luck!

And when the RUU is available for the T-Mobile variant, how do I know? Will it be on Android Development?
There's a thread with stock backup ROM. You can restore that and flash a stock recovery after.

And can I restore that backup if I ran the GPE RUU? Or do I have to wait until the stock RUU gets released?

Look in that same thread where you did the gpe ruu. Post 2 has instructions on how to get back to sense. The two have different partitions so you can't simply flash a sense ROM after running gpe full conversion

Q [Nandroid]

I want to root my M8 , but want nandroid backup with stock recovery , any idea or suggestion
P.s which is better recovery TWRP or philz ?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
What you want is not possible. Just download the recovery from the nandroid thread or pull it from the ota. And both are good and functional. Its a matter of preference.

Ignore please
You can always try flashing Android Revolution which is an extremely optimized stock ROM.
