I will write a simple review tomorrow. If anyone want test some apps or video or games, can post here
Yes, bought from China, Because Im in China
Sir, please do a small review of this phone, display, camera, battery life
Seems to have another cover than 7a, a real black one hmm
I'm interested in this phone. Torn between this and the oneplus one. I await ur review
Sent from my SGP512 using Tapatalk
What apps were on it when it arrived? What are the connectivity specifications?
OK folks... Going to reopen this thread for all Qhd related discussion. Thanks to @Entropy512 for his kind PM with the following information for consideration....
"While we do know that in terms of firmware compatibility, these devices SHOULD be able to support unified builds, and the specs are nearly identical - it would make sense to maintain at least one thread containing QHD-specific information as opposed to merging them into a combo thread."
Now, back to development!
Yay! A qhd only thread, so I have rooted my phone using the 7a method and also got twrp recovery working but went back to stock cuz I didn't wanna mess anything up
So here is my quick review of the Oppo Find 7 X9077 2K varient:
Design: Definitely a very well built, solid, and beautiful phone. It's not overly done, and it's a minimalist's wet dream. It's got a very timeless shape, no branding on the front (THANK GOD), and the carbon back on the black model is definitely textured in a way to provide some nice grip. The straight edges and sides of the phone make it easy to hang on to, and they also remind you that there's a lot of metal construction involved without rubbing it in your face the way the HTC One M8 does. The skyline notification light is SUPER DUPER SEXY! There were complaints that there were no other colors it lights in but blue, though, I'd argue that it definitely belongs in blue. The speaker location isn't my favorite, but they are fairly loud and satisfying. I'd give the overall design of this phone a solid 9 out of 10. It would be nice to see speaker placement on the bottom like the OnePlus One or (dare I say) the front of the phone in the future
Screen: The screen is definitely beautiful. I was impressed with the high contrast and the deep blacks despite an LCD panel. The colors are vibrant enough, but they are definitely washed out when comparing them to a SuperAmoled display like on the GS5, an IPS panel like the Sony Z2, or even the Super LCD on the HTC One. The auto brightness is a bummer because it's still too dark when applied....this is one of my pet peeves with certain phones' auto brightness filtering. Overall, I'd give the screen an 8.5 out of 10 in terms of overall quality, contrast, and color.
Performance: The phone never lags. The speedy SD 801 along with a much needed 3GB of RAM help it to be as snappy as should be expected. I've experienced no lag thus far, and I've been pleasantly surprised. Not much else to say here. I'd give performance a 9 out of 10...we'll get to 10 when Cyanogenmod is available on this bad boy!
Battery: The battery seems to be just okay in my book. I've set the radio to only look for WCDMA in order to avoid constant searching of network bands, and I use auto-brightness...that being said, I'm finding myself looking for a charger before the end of the day with very moderate usage. If the screen is on for longer than 10 minutes, you will experience some heat from the battery. It's not completely abnormal, nor is it something too concerning. It is definitely noticeable, however, and it may be something that can help improve battery life when fixed. I'd give the battery life a generous 7 out of 10 for obvious reasons, though, it can creep up to an 8-8.5 once the heating issue is fixed.
Camera: The camera on this phone is still quite raw to me. Don't get me wrong, it's still light-years ahead of the HTC One M8 or Nexus 5, but it falls short of the GS5 and comes very close to the Sony Z2. As a matter of fact, I'd say that the camera reminds me most of the Z2 in that it promises to deliver a lot, has the hardware to follow through, but just comes up short for one reason or another. The photos can still be a little loud and grainy, especially in lower lighting. The HD and HDR features are almost useless, though, I still have to do more testing outdoors to confirm. All in all, it's definitely not close to the worst camera I've seen on a flagship...and it's not too far from being a great camera. Maybe we'll have to wait to see what software changes can do to improve it. For my money, the Nokia 1520 still sports the best camera I've seen on a smartphone to date. Overall, I'd give the camera here a 7 out of 10.
OS: Well, what can I say? Color OS is bland, bloated, and just so boring. There were a million things that had to be disabled, a million things that still cannot be, and a lot of workarounds to get certain Google services to work. I also had to completely re-work my contacts in order for the caller ID to function properly because even if you have a number stored with the country code, the caller ID will not recognize it unless it is deleted to match the incoming number identically. Example: If you have a number that is calling you that's 800-123-4567, but you have that person stored in your contacts as 1-800-123-4567, the caller ID will only show the number with NO NAME. Once you go into the contact and delete the 1, problem solved...try doing it over 400 times though, and it gets irritating. If you're a Hangouts user, you need to completely disable the stock messaging app if you intend on getting notifications on Hangouts. Without disabling, even though you've turned on Hangouts as default SMS, you won't get notifications. I'd give the OS a 5.5 out of 10. It works, it doesn't crash, but it still has its ugliness and its kinks to work out.
Overall: I like the phone A LOT. I feel like it's the perfect size, shape, weight, and build for me. It looks professional, low-key (stealthy), and feels absolutely awesome in the hand! It has a beautiful screen and LOTS of power under the hood. Some of the other features such as the camera, battery, etc were very minimal disappointments. Luckily, those are not the things that I look towards when judging a phone. I would give the Oppo Find 7 a 8.5 out of 10 in its current state, and I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10 when Cyanogenmod becomes available!

You said you connect to WCDMA??? I also bought this x9077 chinese version but I can not connect to 3g with China Unicom carrier, they never gave me the chance in the Oppo online-shop to choose the China Unicom version, I thought they were going to send me the x9076.
I can just sense Unicom 2g and I always stay betwin Edge (E) and (G) without the 3G icon in the phone display. I'm also using a Sim card adaptor from nano sim to micro sim, but I don't think it's related with my issue.
This is really bad for me I think. Is there any solution without changing the phone to x9076? Because I will use it in Europe in the future, so...
Thanks for your replies.

Not sure if there are hardware differences with the china mobile one but most of the info you are looking for is in the oppo forum here:
http://www.oppoforums.com/threads/f...ency-bands-comparison-between-find-7’s.11921/
You may be lucky and can flash a rom to enable the features you require.
Thanks also for that excellent review above Vipermuscle83...also, it may be worth mentioning that flashing other roms and rooting the handset will not affect your warranty. Win.

I already checked this forum, but the guy author of the post mentiones something about WCDMA, which means that is international version x9076 and not x9077.
If he can really use his phone properly with his carrier he has China Mobile I supose, and that means that this telephone doesn't work properly out of China.
We should clarify that all people we have Unicom we can not use this phone with the right 3g bands yet here in China.
I don't know what to do now. I will go to Unicom and explain the situation and ask them if they can talk with Oppo to change it for the x9076 version once its avialable.
From what we know about the find7 they locked a bunch of bands in the modem driver because of legal reasons.
Flashing an compatible but unlocked modem will open those bands for you.

I can confirm 100% that my model is the X9077. I can confirm in using it on At&t in the United States on WCDMA only, and I can confirm that liaow.com had opened the box and applied Google play store and could have tinkered with something else. No doubt it's the X9077. Screenshot is attached.
so does the 2k version also have the same 3gb apps storage limitation?

Yes it does on mine, and I'm starting to get heating issues when playing high end games on the upper back of the phone
X9077 seems to be working on 4G bands here in Oz. Though having trouble putting CWM on it, haven't tried TWRP because it said it wasn't for any phone with larger than 1080P screensize.
Since OPPO find 7a is officially launched in India . Do we have any members here who bought the 7a ?
How has been the experience so far ?
And which colour you opted for ?
And how is the camera performance and which software version are you having on your phone ?
And is the colour os version on your phone bug free ?
and do you get stable battery performance and not the battery drain which many users are reporting ?
Overall do you find the find 7a worthy for the price asked ?
One Word....Awsome!
Bought find 7 from aliexpress few weeks ago....
Pros:
Damn Beautiful to look at!
Sturdy, Quality Build :good:
Skyline notification just looks awsome :highfive:

Perfect weight distribution...fits nicely on hands even its big!

Hi thanks for your feedback. Have you bought 7a or 7, could also comment on the after sales service of the device. I mean have they opened up their service centers or is the service going to be handled by companies like Redington or TVS Services in India.
I am quite skeptical about the device due to the after sales services aspect. And also any comments on the battery aspect would be appreciated.
Bought Find 7A a week ago. really happy with the product. The only issue i found thats bothering me is the yellow tint towards the bottom of the screen. Will have to contact the service centre and see what they have to say for it.
airtel 4g in india for oppo find 7a
Hi all,
Need to know whether airtel prepaid 4g works in india on the oppo find 7a, particularly in Bangalore
I have purchased the nano SIM prepaid, for the same, still no 4g on my find 7a.
Someone else in oppo forum has confirmed 4g in Bangalore, though my problem persists.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
Will be working in IND on a business trip for a month
Using my OPPO find 7 here in USA on LTE network
What service should I get in IND for LTE network?
Back color available in India
Hi, Anyone who has bought find7a online, which back cover color is available while buying online in India.
I want to buy one with the black back cover not the astro black . Refer the links for colors.
Also do we get the VOOC charger only with the phone?
Bought Find 7a
I bought a Find 7a yesterday, after months of consideration and comparison. I'm amazed by the phone.
Only thing that bothers me is that, i bought the phone thinking that since Oppo is developer friendly, i thought the warranty wont be void if we root it. But when asked, Oppo customer service staff say that it will be void. Will it be void? Does anyone have any experience?
Hi , Has anyone bought this phone form oppostyle.com. The shipping address form has India listed in the country drop-down but their customer support says they don't ship to India.
Can anybody confirm this?
Thanks
Here is the best Anti knock case for Oppo Find 7/7A (India)
guys...check out this thread..

Hi
I've got my DHD since december 2010, and for 2 years now i've got the upper volume button not working, and since a few month the top right corner of my screen is broken, I just can't see the battery information, so it's usable, but with CM12 it's a bit laggy.
I resisted till now, but as it missed a front camera, I'm looking for a new phone with a better camera, a good enough front one for selfies, and enough materials to long years with custom room, so much as enough RAM, a good proc ... and I got my DHD for almost nothning, now I can't escape putting at least more than 200 €, probably in the 300 €
I've been looking for weeks, and my choices appeared to be :
LG G3
Oneplus One
Asus Zenfone 2 551ML
maybe a chineese one could win, but I didn't find it, if you know one i'm all ears
I'm opened to your opinion since we have the same phone, what choice would you make with my specifications ?
Thanks
HTC desire 610
-1080p Display is enough
-32-64gb storage is good enough.
-5-5.5" today's standard.
-2800-3120mAh battery must
-Lastly if 4G-LTE is something important to you than here are the list goes;
1)OnePlus One Or 2(if you can wait a bit longer)
2)Lg G2 getting cheaper on EBay
3)Nexus 5 Still best out there.
Sometimes spec aren't much important but off market development is more important.
If you go with Chinese manufacturer like Lenovo,Huawei, Coolpad, ZTE, Mi, iOcean, Meizu, IMUI all may be good with specs n fits your price bracket but Lil to no development. Guaranteed!
Final choice is yours only. That's my point of view.
for me? i think so.
the most important phone attributes imo are:
2 day+ easy battery
fast enough cpu to stay smooth 99% of the time
1080p screen, it's enough
NFC - i'm in the UK so android pay works everywhere and i can't live without it
fingerprint reader
slightly above average camera ( not *that* important to me - average is ok )
is there another phone out that offers all the above?
The only complain I have is that the bottom part of the touch screen broke after 3 month. I sent for warranty and they got it fixed
I think if you're basing it on price then pretty much yes.
Got mine for £200 and it's a bargain given everything it has. Love the AMOLED screen too.
It's a great phone. I just wish the manufacturer was someone else than Lenovo.
- Would be nice with better customer service/support and at least two major updates.
- Not a fan of the none-flashable modem files once the bootloader is unlocked. Should anything go wrong (for instance during an upgrade) you could get huge problems and have to replace the phone entirely.
- I don't know the general faulty rate of smartphones, but Lenovo has yet to impress me. Connection issues mostly I believe.
Unreliable is probably the word I'm searching for.
I don't know why other manufacturers persist on insufficiently small batteries. It's a smartphone for Christ's sake! You're going to use it all day, every day.
Best phone i have had so far.
definitely best phone so far. !
I got the Nubia M2 , with less battery but overall decent equal phone. Lenovo P2 wins with its Battery usage
Banggood and Gearbest...give the best prices. But it's recommended to flash a stock rom...just off topic mentioning.
I love large displays and fast phones on the budget. I was considering Pocophone F1 and Honor Note 10, but both don't have LTE band 4 for Canada so that's a deal breaker. Mi Max 3 looks awesome, but the CPU is slower than my current phone (Le Max 2 with Snapdragon 820, which cost me $200 2 years ago). It's Antutu score is around 140,000, and Mi Max 3 118,000. So my question is how smooth would be user experience, launching apps etc. coming feom a 2-year old phone with faster CPU? If it's just detail level or loading times in some heavy games - I don't care really, but if it affects everyday user experience, it may be a problem. My Le Max 2 started having stutters and slowdowns so I need to upgrade, and Mi Max 3 screen size and package looks very appealing. Question is whether I would be disappointed with the user experience? My typical use is Waze, Facebook, Twitter, Email, browsing, media playback, DJI drone piloting and very rare gaming.
Get the 6gb/128gb version. No stutters or slowdowns for me whatsoever, and I'm coming from a Samsung Note 8. Trust me, this version is a beast. We already have root and custom roms are around the corner. I would highly recommend getting it from TradingShenzhen. That's where I got mine. I'm currently on xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 rooted with magisk 17.1 without any issues. If global version is your thing (9.6.7. 0), look for that as well.
I'm in Canada, so I gess Ali Express would be a better source. Not sure about the whole Global Rom thing yest - what's legit and what isn't...
Just got the 6gb/126gb version through today from Geekbuying. China Gold version unlocked with 9.6.4.0 (0EDMIFD). So far it's running like a hot knife through butter, and seems very stable. Will do further testing.Other observations.Brilliant screen , and that's from someone who has been running a Samsung galaxy Tab S - 10.5" tablet for the last 3 years.Camera seems very good.Fit/Finish seems top notch...but being a thin but big phone the gold aluminium shell seems very slippery in the hand..gonna need a nice grippy case fast or I can see this ending up face down on a pavement somewhere...broken.
May like to see what it looks like in blue at some stage so i might get a Blue rear plastic cover for it.
I have however as a priority ordered a Nillkin Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Toughened glass Screen Protector for it as a matter of urgency.
Oh yes, one other thing....got away with no Import duty on it as well .....result !!!
I also have an 128GB phone, and I have been using the Note 9 for 5 months. I don't see any stutters or issues yet. Is it as fast as the N9? hell no, but it don't cost $1k USD either. The MAX3 is great, fast enough, and has phenomenal battery life...not to mention that giant screen. I would think you shouldn't really be able to tell the difference in the performance of the LeEco and the Max3, but just my $.02.
I am also in Canada and ordered from tradingshenzhen with the xiaomi.eu ROM. I connect on LTE bands 4 and 7 throughout Quebec, Atlantic Canada, New England, and New York without any problem. I have the 6gb RAM/ 128gb storage model. It is fast and smooth. Shipping to Canada took three days. I would recommend you stay away from the sellers on AliExpress simply because of all the horror stories with them selling the Max 3 with unofficial "global" ROMs that have broken modems resulting poor or non-existent phone connectivity. If you want the actual "global" variant (which has just gone on sale in the past few weeks) you will have to find a reseller in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, or the Philippines - although some Hong Kong sellers will actually provide the China variant with the early/fake "global" ROM.
If you want to be on the safe side with all options open to you you'll have to settle with the global version.
Keep in mind however that it seems like the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage model seems to be China-only.
That means if you want the extra RAM or storage you'll have to deal with the inconveniences that come with a Chinese variant phone, essentially forcing you to unlock your bootloader.
Depending on what your long term plans are this might be something perfectly acceptable to you though.
I for example abandon MIUI ship as soon as the first stable custom ROMs drop.
Given that I don't mind the unlocked bootloader requirement for the Chinese variant, as I'd have to unlock it anyway. YMMV though.
