Is it at all possible to recover photos from internal memory? I didn't know reverting to stock would wipe EVERYTHING. I've searched the forums and Google but only get unanswered questions and spam software.

I am having problems with backup to my external SD. I have 30 gigs free, and the backup freezes at very end and is not usable. When backing up to internal though its fine. Any suggestions????
Please delete thrad. I see this problem is in another thread. See no answers there either

hey guys,
Im about to unlock my boot loader, im following the instructions from this thread.
Unlocking Your Bootloader
Words of warning - unlocking your boot loader will wipe your data partition
Things you have put on your internal memory will be fine but all of your apps etc will be gone.
my question is "Where is that internal memory?"
I did a factory reset twice and it erased all my pics, music every thing, weren't they in the internal memory?
Im sorry if its a weird question im confused and I dont want to go into recovery with no rom
thanks XDAs
I stand to be corrected, but the data partition is AKA "internal storage."
The "phone storage" is /sdcard.
So wiping data partition means apps and text messages disappear, but not music or video that would show up if you plugged into pc and used as mass storage

They still always be on sd. As the phone stores all your pics videos etc on the sd partition. The internal 2gb memory is for apps.
I think when you factory reset it gives you an option to tick if you want to wrote your files or something
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium App
Simply put, if it shows up on your mass storage, it wont be affected by factory reset

thanks guys, i really appreciate your help.
another guy also had the same problem, after rebooting the phone, a black screen comes up and we had to make a factory reset and it erased every thing even the SD
Thank you both
Im considering selling my phone, I have read through the forum and the last answer to my question was posted in 2012, im wondering if there has been an update since then. Is there a way to securely overwrite every section of my phones external and internal memory to shred all files and make them unrecoverable. I understand a factory reset is sufficient but I want a SECURE deletion. Thanks!

I would think wiping everything, including internal and then odin to stock would do the trick! If u are going to sell it with the external sd card, then format it too...
Hi Guys,
OP3 has 64GB storage. I guess about 55GB will be available to users.
Is it possible to create a separate partition, say of 30 GB, which can act as an SD card, where I can store music, videos, photos etc. This way I wipe off "partition 1" and do a clean install of new roms. "Partition 2" will be, hence, kept intact with multimedia and documents and I don't have to worry about losing them.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
Any help would be appreciated.
I connected my LG D852 with MM to the LG software, I had a pop-up that there is an upgrade so clicked OK thinking that the data will not be wiped as long as I will be still on MM. That was wrong! ALL data are wiped including my newborn first photos which are priceless to me . I tried some apps like diskdigger and some software on the PC but all of them require root to perform. From my search, it seems like impossible to root this version of the LG . So, any help to restore these photos will be appreciated.
Additional Information:
- Photos were on the internal memory.
sd card or internal memory ?
if sd, try to restore on PC
if internal this may help https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705
also stop using your phone (take the battery out). Files aren't actually deleted unless overwritten by another app. By using the phone you're keep writing to your memory.

Data are on the internal memory. I tried to follow the link you shared but the main issue is that the phone is required to be rooted which is not possible (to my knowledge) for the LG G3 D852.

Did you install Google Photos at any time? Perhaps it backed them up to the cloud?
