[Q] How to root HTC desire HD ver 2.3.3... ? NEED HELP.. !!

Hii guys..
I am new to this forum.
I need to root my HTC DESIRE HD (gingerbread), with s/w number 2.37.720.3.
But I have learnt from many other sites and other threads in this forum that
Desire HD must be downgraded first.
There are ways to downgrade for s/w number 2.36.XX.X, but couldn't find any for 2.37.
Hope some one kind enough could help me out.

I am afraid you are stuck without root my friend, you cannot temp root 2.37 with gingerbreak and hence downgrade is impossible at present. I guess you will have to wait for HTC to open their bootloaders and then flash a custom rom with root in it.
When HTC will open DHD bootloader... only time will tell.

hmm that's not a pleasant news...If I knew that I'd never go for gingerbread update. I do get htc sense error frequently. That's really annoying. so any way I'm positive that the xda pro will come up with solution.

So did any1 find a way to root 2.37.720.3??? I m pissed with tjis stock rom...vry unstable...wifi conntection drops...no update in india ((

I would love to root my DHD but I have no space memory cards or anything and I am a bit of a dumb blonde too but I guess I will just have to leave it with what I got

Go get yourself a SD card and use the method posted above

Not sure what you mean but if you want to DOWNGRADE and root your device just follow these guides and you should be fine:
1. Downgrade

Hi. I have this phone and has android 2.3.3 and number 2.50.405.2 (probably branded to vodafone).
I have been informed for android 2.3.5 but when i try to install i got an red exclamation.
I think that it isn't rooted. Is there any specific way i have to follow to root it?

If you are rooted forget about the OTA updates, just flash your own ROM.
If not, just search the XDA, everything is already written about rooting.

Dear Guys,
I have HTC Desire HD from a while but I didn't try to do anything with it because of an old bad experience with HTC P3450 :crying:
But Now after I read a lot about JellyBean in this useful forum, I decided to root my DHD but I stuck with downgrade it.
I'm Using Ace advanced hack kit
My android version 2.3.5
HTC Sence 3.0

Please try in the general thread where you would find a noob friendly thread also covering the AAHK. Did you read the Effen manual allready? I never heard of any issues not covered in the manual...

baseband version: 12.65.60.29u_26.14.04.28_m
[Q]: 1. what is the best way to root the phone
