Floating multiwindow - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
Do you guys know of any working multiwindow mod, that adds the feature of floating windows? Can't seem to find any working one. Also not in the Xposed repository.
Thanks!

Go & flash ditto note 3 rom.
If you're not worrying about warranty.

Thanks for replying. But that ROM is full of all kinds of things that I don't want. There's no separate mod for it, that you know of?
--edited--- Oh wait, there is a light version... Hm. Maybe I should try out that one. Is there a way to use a backup system, which reinstates the configuration that I have with my current ROM, including app settings? Otherwise I have to reinstall and configure everything how I have it now...

I don't think anyone resist to flash this awsome rom (ditto N3).
Btw, I don't have any idea about which rom is offering floating multi window or there is an saperate MOD for this feature.
On stock roms you can use this feature Via wanam exposed, but unfortunately when I was Tryed this feature, that was not worked on my N7100.

Yes, I tried the Wanam too, but didn't work.
Ditto seems nice, but even the lite version seems tremendous bulkier than SupremeKat, which I have now. I really like the snappiness of SupremeKat.

[Q] CRT screen on/off animation?

Hey Guys,
Back when i had my Nokia n95 "great phone", i could download and install a small animation thing that could animate the screen-turn-on and off so that it looked the a CRT screen from the old days?
- Does anyone know if such a thing exists for the Note II, or if its hard to code?

Hey Xnes,
This is exactly what I needed?
My phone is not rooted, and if possible, I would like to keep it this way?
- But if it is needed, then i will do it...!
Any other ideas?

I use Wanam's great ROM. It can be enabled in this ROM. I suppose you don't want to flash a whole new ROM though when you don't want to root though. I think you need at least root to be able to change it.

Hey,
I will try to find Wanams rom.. And hope its easy to install..! But im not sure that i understand the last part of your message? "I suppose you don't want to flash a whole new ROM though when you don't want to root though. I think you need at least root to be able to change it." :$
General Bobo
For non rooted you can use an app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
I have the widget on my home screen. You then have to configure for crt effect. Here are my settings.
I'm happy enough with it.

My apologies, when I read it back it is indeed lousy English. I meant that when you don't actually want to root your device, flashing a whole new rom might be too much. I must say that besides the animation, the rom gives a lot more nice features, yet it stays close to the original Samsung rom, so it would still be interesting to look at maybe. Installing is quite easy and explained in the WanamLite rom thread.

[4.4.2 MODS] S5 Apps and Tweaks

I've shared these tweaks in a couple other threads. Enough people seemed interested, that I decided to share them here.
S5 Apps
All of these apps are confirmed working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677686
I have came across this thread. But, I have not checked to see how reliable these apps are.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690997
EDIT 4/26/14: @Southern_mind has found a thread with a stock rom for the VZW S5. Be sure to test the apps found in here and let us know what works for you!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728128
EDIT 4/26/14: @Misterxtc has posted the working files for MMS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52217991&postcount=45
EDIT 4/25/14: I found boot and shutdown animations for the S5 that can be flashed through Safestrap here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/galaxy-s5-boot-shutdown-animation-t2694225
S5 Settings
I just used the app that was included in this zip and replaced the system app using Root Explorer. It works okay, but I would like to see this done to the settings app for our model. If anybody can do this mod, please share.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661715
S5 Toggles and Recent Apps
Xposed - Very easy install, great if your already using Xposed. Plus this gives you a few more options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719909
Build Prop Edits - Very easy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677196
Framework
This has been done on other variants, yet still has a few bugs. I'm not sure if they would work on our device as I am not willing to try it currently. But if somebody would like to try it, or mod them for our device, please share.
EDIT 4/25/14: I have flashed framework. It looks great. However, I had issues with incoming calls afterwards. DO NOT flash SystemUI. I have tested it, it is not compatible with our model.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718341
Download Booster
I can not find any threads that convince me that it has successfully been ported. The settings mod allows you to turn the feature on, but it does't actually work. The only thing I've seen that works similar to this, is in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667025
ADDED 04/26/14
S5 Launchers
@jolly_roger_hook has some modded S5 launchers that will work great with everything else. Check out his thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2731391
Other Mods
I am currently looking for mods that may work, or could be ported over, to give us even more S5 features. Let us know if you find the particle lockscreen, ultra power saving mode, fonts, or download booster. If you can think of other mods that we should look for, or can already use, let us know.
Thanks
Thanks for the following people that have contributed or have been active in the testing of these mods. Make sure that you stop by their threads or posts and at least press the thanks button if they helped you out. They don't have to share their work, but they do so everybody can have a better experience. @Southern_mind @jolly_roger_hook @popkurn611 @Misterxtc
Anybody else I may have missed
Also thanks to BeansTown106, ChainFire, SexTape, Hashcode, Sparky_b, and anybody else I may have missed for helping to make this possible.
None of this is my original work. I just wanted to share what I have found. If your phone gets bricked, catches on fire, divorces you, etc..., its not my fault. Tinker at your own risk.

on DN3 you can just put the apps in the stock rom and bam you get the features but for the DN4 the files has changed i think and i used to port roms from optimus one to my lg optimus s(old phone) wasn't hard but it's different for 4.4.4 touchwiz i really dont know how the heck they ported the 4.4.4 rom to the galaxy note II n1700 but if i or someone else find a way then ill can atleast try and as for data there are some files you need from the other roms like for example for the DN3 rom you can get the carrier files from the stock rom should work like that

[Rom]N910T MR. KLEAN 1.0 [COG2]

● Before I begin, I have received permission from rmarinella to use his cog2 base and post this in my own thread. With that said thanks to rmarinella for allowing me to post this.
● This rom is nothing more than rmarinellas S6 Express lite rom, except i have gone a few steps further to lighten it even more by nearly 300mb to a grand total of a 731mb zip file.
● If you are looking for a full featured note 4 rom this is not it. If you are looking for a rom that gives you just what you need with out bells and whistles with excellent battery life and speed than this is the rom for you.
● Keep in mind that there are certain things in settings that if you try to enable them you will get force close popups, these items are just simply not installed.
● I have been running this for 2 days with ZERO problems. Please inform me if any basic functions of the note 4 do not work. Wifi calling, etc.
● Wipe three times for extra cleanliness, Use latest twrp, flash and enjoy!
● COG2 Based and must be on COG2 bootloader and baseband
Link to dev-host:
N910T_S6_Express_Mr_Klean_1.0.zip - 731.24 MB
Xposed Instructions. ☆☆☆PLEASE DONT THANK ME, THANK TEKHD☆☆☆

Basically cut almost 1gb from stock firmware as the stock firmware is around 1.8gb. Took rmarinellas 1gb rom and cut it down to 731mb with his permission.
Thanks for another Rom choice. You might want to mention this is COG2 base. Also would like to know if the Gear 2 Watch and Gear VR would work or do I need to add in a bunch of add-ons.
Thanks again!!

No gear vr and gear watch apks have been removed. Rmarinellas version should work though.
Just thought i'd post battery life and screen time. Keep in mind everyones usage varies. With that said, best I've ever seen in the time owning this phone, that includes kitkat as well.
Are you running xposed?

Hey - Glad to hear. I like the lock screen 10x better without the txt. I'm using matte black theme in the theme store. The wallpaper is just one I downloaded and I'm using flat style status icons xposed module. As far as xtre it's compatible with our phone. You're having problems installing ? You said you're rooted you should just be able to flash from Edgar's post

No. I originally rocked it with stock mm kernel. However there is a kernel out now for our device here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...nels-twisted-kernel-6-0-1-mm-5-11-16-t3377283 I'm using it and my phone is so snappy. Check it out.

Cool. Loving it also. Twisted kernel was what finally enabled me to properly decompile the apk. Without systemless root i couldnt do much... there is a post on how to install international roms with twisted kernel here but So far on this phone xtre is the only rom I've used. Happy flashing.
