hey i have a sgs3 my usb port is not syncing is their a way that i can sync threw the motherboard like attaching wires plz help
You can order a replacement part if you feel youre up to the task of replacing it. I wouldnt try to wire up the motherboard out of fear that id do even more damage. There are apps that will allow you to connect/sync with your computer wirelessly.

Does anyone happen happen to know, specificly (ie. manufacturer, or distributor part number or model number) what USB connector the KF uses?
I just bought a used KF and the connector is failing. I have someone that can attach a new one for me but I haven't been able to figure out what connector to buy. Lots of searching and looking at pictures but i haven't been able identify it for certain. If I have to, I will pull the board and look at it but I thought I would ask first.
Thanks

I probably cant help you much but I use 2 different ones both non stock. one is for my droidx seems a little loose but it functions. The other is made by belkin standard usb to micro for media transfer this one is a little tight. when you say fail can you clarify that?
Thanks for your help. I am looking for the connector that is soldered to the motherboard inside the KF not a cable. When I plug a cable in the connection is very loose and I have to wiggle the cable a lot to make a connection and if I let go of the cable the connection fails. I have tried several cables, as well as, the wall charger, all with the same results so I am sure it is the connector on the motherboard. The cables work fine on my other devices.
Thanks again for your help.

its sound more like a loose fitting cable than the connection point itself I wouldnt know how to go about replacing the device end. Possibly might require a new motherboard to do so unless your pretty crafty. Wish I could be more help to you.
The belkin brand is much tighter fit I purchased it at target 16$
I received the phone and everything was great except i couldnt charge or connect to my computer because the phone didnt show that it ws connected at all (The battery icon remained the same), by mistake I found out that if I tilt up the cable, the phone will recognize it and charge as everything was normal. If I look closely and compare this usb port with other mini usb ports from other devices in the house I noticed it was tilted a bit down. So I put a sliver of duct tape and used it as a shim and put it between the male end of the usb port and the phone case itself, well it seems to work but Im afraid that it wont work for long. Anyway, to the meat of the question. I found some usb mini connectors on ebay for the t989 and when I have looked at the teardown I see that its attached to the motherboard as it was just plugged in, but then at the same time I see two solder points on the mobo as well. I don't know a dam thing about soldering other than what a soldered are looks like. Has anybody had any experience in removing the usb connector on this phone? Or just knows by looking at it how it is attached.
Thanks
Well before you do anything...it's micro usb Ports that you want

Can you link me to the tear down? I've been looking for one. And as posted before they are micro not mini USB ports. Also, I've noticed the horrible connectivity oon all my devices with micro USB ports. Even my brothers brand new optimus q from straight talk has this problem.

Running rooted GB08 and want to upgrade to GB27. However, I can't get my computer to recognize my phone. When I plug the phone in to a usb port, it charges, but nothing happens in windows, nothing in device managers, notihng.
I've tried my desktop, notebook and multiple usb cables.
What's going on?
Sounds like you either have bent pins inside the port or the solder joints on the port are cracked. You can either fix it yourself, or have someone else do it. If it can't be read by a computer, going back to stock FL24 will be a bit difficult if you want to go to sprint and have them replace it.

My wife's phone will no longer charge or connect to a PC with any USB cord. If I kind of wiggle or bend the cord where it connects to the phone, the phone will charge for a brief moment or connect to the PC.
Is there anything I can try other than replacing the charging port? I don't think I quite have the soldering skills for that.
If I have to replace the motherboard, is the internal storage located on the motherboard?
Replacing the charging port is pretty cheap and is probably the answer to that.

Hi all!
My computers USB port was broken and it let all the electric through (don't know how to write these thing in english)
I connect my phone to the USB and don't know that.. then my phone only charge through computers usb and pc doesn't even try to recognize it.
Then i connected my microsd cardreader to same usb and i heard "puff" and smelld burning electric.
Phone does not smell like burned or anything. Working just fine.. it only doesn't work with data transfer.
So.. is it possible to fix by myself? like changing the usb dock https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1xvUoMVXXXXaoaXXXq6xXFXXXf/5PCS-For-Xiaomi-Mi-Max-Hexa-Core-6-44-Smartphone-USB-Charging-Port-Dock-Connector-Transfer.jpg
Or is my phone bricked forever and i cant use it through usb cable?
i hope that you all understand my problem, it's hard to write these thing different language
Anyone?
Replacing the usb dock piece will probably fix your problem and isnt very hard to replace and isnt very expensive from aliexpress. I cant post links but if you go to youtube and search "mi max disassembly" it will show you how to take apart the phone and get to the piece. i have taken myn apart before and it isnt very hard at all. Hope this helps
Sorry, it's not clear to me. Is there a problem with the USB port on your phone? Or only a problem with the USB port on your computer?
You may want to try a different USB cable. Sometimes the microUSB adapters can get worn out.
Problem is on the phone. Phone only charge from usb. Settings are ok.
Same usb port broke my Canon also. It has warranty and its fixed now. It was same way broken than my phone.
Computers usb is fixed now.
