[GUIDE] Flash Stock KDZ Offline LG - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all this is not my work but I would love to share it
I bricked my Gpad once but LGMobile Support Tool does not help at all.
This tool might work to most LG Device
Be warn the KDZ that your going to use will be auto deleted so make another copy
LG does not want us to use KDZ so we must install it offline.
Please temporarily disable any Adblock addon in your browser and I recommend to check your host file
C:Windows\system32\drivers\etc\host
Delete the LG Mobile Tool folder (STUPID)
Show Hidden Files in Folder Option
CrogramData\LGMOBILEAX
Replace it with one in the attachment
Then place all the Updater Offline in a single folder (very important)
Read the Instruction: it comes with link to know more about it.
Your Anti Virus may warn you about http.exe but its just a server to fool the Software updater (Use by the script temporarily until the end of the process)
The script will automatically guide you to the end
God Bless to the person who made this
So please LG don't to be like Apple.
This Lock Bootloader, Lousy Sofware Updater, Harder to Root. For what? To make people hate your products? So please stop what your doing and let people enjoy it.

Can't flash KDZ

Hi!
Hope someone could help me.
I'm trying to install a stock rom V10b_00 from argentina. I try with LG pc suite hack (LG PC SUITE says that couldn't recognize the celphone), with the Automatic KDZ Updater (when i hit the upgrade start program the windows with country and language don't show up, instead the lg mobile support initiate and after a minute it crashes), with the manual mode installing shttps and changing the hosts file (same that the LG hack), i try with KDZ_FW_UPD (KDZ too big) and nothing. Each one of the methos give a different error. The only one who works is with KDZ_FW_UPD but only installing files lower than 1gb wich are the brazilian and one european that is useless cause has a different modem of my country. I actually have installed the brazilian LGE97710A, but it has all the Sh!t of the company "CLARO" and i don't want it.
Please help i don't know what else to do.
All drivers installed, running Windows 7 ultimate x64
THX!!
Hi el_chapi, I write in english following forum rules, sorry for my bad redaction.
I think that you don't follow the instructions and miss to run some points of tutorial.
Please check this (in spanish):
http://www.mioptimusone.com/foros/showthread.php?tid=1983
By the way, if you flashed KDZ lower than 1 GB, yo can connect your E987 using LG PC Suite or LG Mobile Tool and search for updates, LG Mobile Tool (please delete, rename or edit your hack hosts file), this tool start to download and install your operator's firmware.
Other solution is obtain your modem files (for E987) and replace the modem files of your installation (E977 or E975), but you need extract this files from other E987.
In my E976 (Movistar Peru) this files are:
/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem
/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modemst1
/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modemst2
all rwx rwx rwx
Hi. thx for the quick response.
Thanks nelrak for the tutorial, work perfectly, i finally could flash the kdz i want!
once again thanks for your help.

[FIX][GUIDE] Marshmallow + AutoRec Hard Brick

Hello everybody, so I noticed a lot of people struggling with marshmallow + autorec hard bricks (symptoms: no download mode, no recovery, black screen)
Just to make sure: I'm not responsible for any damages done. This worked for me perfectly, should work for you too. Use it only if you bricked D855 30B!!! (Marshmallow)
Here's what you have to do to fix that:
First follow this amazing guide by senior member l33tlinuxh4x0r, big thanks to him. ---> LINK TO GUIDE
Important stuff: You need to install qualcomm drivers (windows 8, 10 users need to disable driver signature enforcement), you need to short the circuit of your phone, like it's shown in that guide, by shorting it correctly and plugging it in you immediately get connection (keep note of that, there's no need to wait for something, no sound - redo.)
Instead of extracting tot, like it's shown there, use attached files (target Dir). Then again, flash them like it's shown in the tutorial. You should be good to go.

Select the attached download folder as "Target DIR" in the application, it will load the files and let you flash them like it's shown in the tutorial

I've the same problem as you describe here. After I upgraded g3 to marshmallow I applied autorec and my device became hard brick.now my phone under com ports as Qualcomm 9008.
from this point I'm confused that which way to go the first your description 'Instead of extracting tot, like it's shown there, use attached files (target Dir)', Then again, flash them like it's shown in the tutorial'',the second tot file of the rom that we were running. (not older not newer same version). The first way I did not understand attached files where are they ?
if I follow the second way how can I find tot of my rom D855 30B!!! (Marshmallow)?
thank you waiting your help
Instead of tot you use the files from the download link in my post since you don't need to extract tot now, just mark that folder in "target dir" and follow the second guilde, as you call it. Good luck!

The link is DEAD...
Maybe someone can reupload? I messed up and didn't save it in my computer, didn't think I'd need it anymore. Oops.. Or create them yourself
You need do extract .kdz, then .dz,
use this guide to create partition.txt
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/how-to-create-partition-txt-file-kdz-t3109859
and rename files to ****.mbn
i just had my phone back to normal after marshmallow autorec brick
Get the right tools from scamex only..
U going to need :
Qdloader hs-usb driver for your pc 32/64bit
Install it
Then get smart boot diagnostic tool
Along that also get ap-chip dll and att
Then extract it the ap folder inside smart boot diagnostic tool
Get document to shows how to flash a "dead boot"
Then run thr smart boot diagnostic tool
Then follow instruction from the document and pay attention on page 14, 15 & 16
After recovering qfprom anti-roolback issue.
Your phone should be back to normal as before the autorec root hardbrick

[GUIDE]How to install latest Marshmallow KDZ on the LG Spirit

Hello, as some of you may already know, we can't flash MM kdz on our LG Spirit using LG Flash Tool, so we have to use LG UP, a method which is also used by LG G4c owners. I drew the idea from them, since G4c and Spirit are practically the same devices. I've modified a script from G4c, all credits go to @bender_007.
So here are the steps:
1. Make sure you have USB drivers installed.
2. Download and install LG UP: http://www.filedropper.com/g4 ---- First install LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_3_23, then LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3.
3. Download the script that makes LG UP recognize our device as H440n(Courtesy of @bender_007, I only modified small parts of it). Link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lbxdwloffi75qqg/AABfz5e9AIiSxipsnZQIiikGa?dl=0 (Download as zip)
4. Extract the zip and run h440n.bat
5. Connect your Spirit in MTP mode.
6. Run LG UP and wait for it to load.
7. Leave all settings as they are.
8. Under file path, browse to the kdz file you downloaded. NOTE: It won't show in the directory it is in, because the browse window sees only .tot files, so you have to manually type in the KDZ name in the text field and select it that way.
9. Click Start
10. Wait
11. ???
12. Profit! Enjoy your LG Spirit running Marshmallow!
Thanks, I had to manually copy the dll in the LGUP folder, dunno if it's my fault, or script's fault though.
EDIT: It gives me an error on boot, about CUST not existing... Nothing important, I can continue to use it but it's rather annoying? Fixes? Thanks.

I suppose yours, because it worked for me flawlessly. If someone notices any errors in modifications I made to the script, feel free to correct me.

Depending on OS and security level it can happen, it might need an elevated access- Try: right click - run as administrator

Had to also copy everything over manually, running as admin didn't help. I haven't done anything to my security settings and am running on the only account that was created with the install. I think it might have something to do with me running on dev mode though.

Regular mode what is enabled by Deafult on KitKat and newer ROM's. It is also known as Media Transfer Protocol and when you connect phone it should look something like this (screenshot from my PC with my current device connected because of copying nandroid backup to PC)
Antoher note: for LG Spirit it looks like Phone Icon, not Media Device.

To anyone interested:
I got adaptive storage to work! It's pretty simple. Just follow the guide from modaco.com (search for "modaco adaptive storage galaxy s7" on google", I don't think I can post links).
Then go to Settings -> Storage & USB -> Your SD Card -> Merge (in the additional menu).

LG K10 LGM250n rooting

Starting this thread for i've found no viable method for rooting, custom ROMs, etc. for the 2017 european model of K10 ( which actually is supplied carrier unlocked in my country with ROM version LGM250AT-00-V12q-COM-DEC-18-2017+0 at this moment, )
First of all, there is *no way* to get into bootloader mode, by ADB or key combo at startup, tried everything suggested on forums , docs pages, whatnot. To be honest, the Internet is full of crap, there should be some censoring, or whoever isn't really fit to publish information or methods they don't master, simply refrain themselves from doing so.
What i have: actually managed to capture the original ROM file, M250n10n_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1218.kdz from the LG Updater tool , can be downloaded from below link. 7zipped for minimal size and password protected the archive, the password is 12345678, for just in case
h.t.t.p.s:././ drive.google.com/file/d/1_uYKC1ecAOvhqyqSr3h2-XSTWvZfHOWn/view?usp=sharing
Apparently, the .kdz file can be successfully unpacked with WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.6.1 , the boot image extracted from the .dz file, etc. At this point, my knowledge on this is exhausted , haven't done any phone hacking in the last 10 years, last and only time was an Alcatel OTC 960 (i think), with Android 2, don't remember squat now. Don't exactly have time for research and tinkering too much either, i'd rather pass over to someone with more up to date knowledge and experience.
The phone hardware is quite powerful for it's price class, 8 core CPU of which the high perf cluster (4 cores) runs on 1.5 GHz, the low power cluster on 1 GHz, 2 GB DDR2 RAM @667 MHz, 16 GB flash , a decent GPU , generic connectivity options, sd card support, overall a good phone for day by day use.
Full of bloatware though, dire need of rooting, cleanup and some advanced tweaking possibility ( which obviously requires rooting).
Booting into native recovery mode
.. it does work, to some extent. Method:
- connect to ADB make sure all debug stuff, oem unlock etc. is set
- issue command 'adb reboot recovery' command, phone will reboot into recovery mode, with a burnt out android dummy on screen
- press Power + Volume UP simultaneously for a second, the recovery menu will show up
The recovery menu offers a fair few options: reboot to bootloader, format, install update from fota partition or sdcard, mount /system or normal reboot. The reboot to bootloader option doesn't work, it will force a normal reboot. Interesting the manufacturer left this option at all, while non functional. or better, there must be some hidden option to be set which will actually unlock the bootloader, but it's definitely not the "enable OEM unlock" from the developer menu nor from the r&d diagnostic hidden menu.
The option to install an update in recovery mode, from sd card sounds promising though. I wonder if somebody has any experience with that, if so, please share it here.

then, how can we wipe recovery partition?
we're going in circles. no root, no wipe. but for root, need unlocked bootloader. and the default bootloader doesn't allow fastboot/rooting, etc. so it's a stall. please guys, if you have any ***working*** method, post only that.
So far, i have a working method to downgrade the firmware:
- install LG UP
- extract the "LGUP_c.dll" file from the firmware using WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.6.1-Release
- download and run Uppercut, it likely will detect the phone, keep it open then go to the LG UP installation directory c:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\ , duplicate the "common" folder ( or it'll vanish when Uppercut is closed)
- close Uppercut, it's useless, rename back the duplicate "common" folder, place the extracted "LGUPc.dll", rename it literally to "LGUP_common.dll" ; obviously, will need to delete the one from teh folder, that's garbage by Uppercut. Keep "WPDAPI.exe", it's needed.
- run LG UP , choose the .kdz file, both Upgrade and FOTA Upgrade work ( this last one flashes the /fota partition). Refurbish doesn't work, and no idea what it does, so far
- let LG UP do it's thing, at 100% upload , the phone will restart, then a white background shows with the upgrading message, etc. and a progress bar , the phone will either restart at 97 % of the progress bar, or go directly into normal OS load, then within the OS will see the upgrading continues for a few seconds, etc. It depends on the firmware version.
And here comes my problem. None of the available firmwares have the bootloader unlockable. The oldest, M250n10g_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0420.kdz is still from April, dated 3 months after the original release.
We need some of the very first firmwares, if indeed the claim by pvineeth97 is true that he could root it and install TWRP recovery. To be honest, the guy seems to be a hack, probably copy - pasted the method from the older K10 model, and he actually has no proof for having a working method for the 2017 model. Also, doesn't answer to private messages, so that's that... I saw a lot of "methods" by googling, everybody just adds the M250N model to the list, claims rooting works, etc. IT IS NOT TRUE, these are all false claims, just some idiots looking for cheap popularity, taking credit for some other peoples' work, and so on...
I can put the tools onto my gdrive and share the link, if someone else wants to try, but so far, we're short on a proper firmware image.
Try using the scatter file for MT6750.

Full of bloatware though, dire need of rooting, cleanup and some advanced tweaking possibility ( which obviously requires rooting).

we're going in circles. no root, no wipe. but for root, need unlocked bootloader. and the default bootloader doesn't allow fastboot/rooting, etc. so it's a stall. please guys, if you have any ***working*** method, post only that.

No friend, By what I read here in the forum, it is not necessary to unlock the bootloader in this template
Someone checked this secret menu * # 546368 # * 250 #? has several options that I did not check for lack of experience anyone any solution to open the fastboot or unlock the bootloader

Hello! How did you do it? could you explain? It would be good since you can not even root this team, because at least remove the bloatware from the system, recovering the space of the applications that still exist in the private folder on the same system.
I have a LG Tribute Empire (LM-X220PM). It is also based on the MTK 6750, my device seems to be on running 32-Bit instead of 64-Bit though.
I cannot enter fastboot mode either. I have all of these problems as mentioned in the OP. I was going to start a thread until I saw this. Does deleting the recovery partition really allow the device to boot into fastboot mode?
Because I was about to start looking into lglaf, the advanced flash functions might be a solid connect on a mediatek system. Because Mediatek Devices are normally unlockable. I just need to find my own device's firmware so I can look at the system and ramdisk. Everything about the phone screams there can be root. Maybe a system root though. I need to find the Dev Patched LG UP though to flash partitions. And read how to give LG Advanced Flash commands.

Nope. You can wipe it but then it boots to the system which rebuilds recovery from the boot.
I have though about wiping the boot too, to see how it reacts, but there might be some catch.
Also the lgup hasn't been always so steady recognizing my device, m250n.
Also the LG's Bridge has sometimes recognized it to some totally different device.
Odd, but so far I've used it through virtualbox, which might have something do with it.

LG has done their best to remove MTK stuff from m250n, don't know about your device...

Sounds like I need to figure out how to customize the flasher to my device then is all. LGUP 1.4 didn't recognize my device at all.

You might need to use your devices own dll which is inside the kdz file.

I've seen that a lot of LG information is spread around. I normally have Samsung Devices I work with. So the whole flashing process is different. Different Tools, different build types.
Really I'm still trying to wrap my around the LG process. There seems to be many different ways to do things but are kind of device specific. I've only just recently learned about the patched LGUP but I can't find my firmware anywhere to get started with it and get it patched. So I'll look around to hopefully find a KDZ somewhere for the x220pm.
lol I feel like a newb again just because I switched OEM's.
