I need help to decide if I should buy this Keyboard - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

Hi! I need your opinion so I can decide if I should buy this keyboard for my Nexus 7. Two months ago I purchased a Bluetooth keyboard for my Nexus 7 but it stopped working last week and I felt bad. Bought it for $80 and it only lasted for two months. I am not rich, and if I was I think I would still feel bad for buying expensive accessories that won't last longer.
Now, I wanted to buy a new Bluetooth keyboard and I found one from amazon. Users reviews aren't topnotch but I think it is a great keyboard as I also found another review for it from a popular website. I don't want to buy another expensive keyboard for my Nexus 7 and would end up feeling frustrated and I think buying this one which is on sale would be a good choice though I haven't made up my mind yet. I think I can if I would hear your opinion guys. Thanks!

Here is the link to the keyboard by the way.

is this phone worth $200?

i bought one from ebay is it worth it?could i have gotten a better one?
condition is mint no scratches or anything
hey,
i bought the phone a few month ago for about $300...
and of course you could have gooten a better one...
But here's the BIG BUT:
-when you want to have a hardfware keyboard then theres only one other phone...the desire z (about $600)
-if you dont need the keyboard then u could get the HD2 if u want it to hgave windows mobile
-or you could get the desire wich in my eyes is a high end device without any limits for now...
--->but thats all a matter of what you want to spend for a new phone...
but i can only tell you that it is a great phone i use it every day and its just great to have the keyboard...
and for that price $200 you couldnt get a better phone then this one!
just flash a cusom rom and the phone is just awesome!
nick
Not a bad price; was it a 'bid' or 'buy it now' option?
I was lucky to snag one with a bunch of accessories (including 2 batteries, 3 cables, 2 AC chargers, a spare battery cover, extra stylises, & an Otterbox) in mint condition for about $150 shipped. It was a buy-it-now sale, so I assume that I got that deal because the seller really didn't know what it was worth. The seller was changing carriers and just wanted to get rid of the phone.
Since the phone has been discontinued and the new Windows 7 phones are out, the prices are coming down quickly. I'm not ready to jump into a W7 device, so I'm happy with my purchase.
Keep reading the forums and, if you're brave about customizing it, I'm sure you'll be happy with this device, too. Enjoy!

And thank you for replying
Well, after reading this thread, I decided to buy one off ebay too. Then to see how the xdandroid stuff is working...
bought my tp2 before they hit the U.S for $600,been pleased ever since. You got one for $200,you got lucky, great buy
Was it an unlocked device? It wasn't a BAD price, really but I don't know if I would consider it a great one either. The phone is a bit on the slow side these days, but not excessively so. They are still selling new Android phones with even slower CPUs. But it's no Snapdragon either. The hardware keyboard is nice. I thought about moving to a Focus with WP7 but I really don't like the soft keyboards and I am not impressed with the Quantum.
So, yeah, not a real helpful post, but the TP2 remains one of if not the overall best WM 6 device out there. AT&T is still selling it for $199 and you would be locked into a 2 year contract for it so if you got it for $199 I suppose you did okay. Especially if, as previously mentioned, you aren't adverse to a bit of out of warranty modding and custom ROMs.

[Q] Should I buy the nexus.

Hi everyone,
A friend of mine still has a crappy samsung and now he wants a better phone. But since the new nexus is about to be annonced I'm not sure if its better for him to wait a few weeks untill the galaxy nexus gets a price drop. What do you guys think?
The longer you wait the better the phone will be or the cheaper the phone will be.
Depands on how long he want's to wait.....
I bought my Nexus two weeks ago even with new announcements I'm glad I did. Great phone works really well.

the current Gnexus is a really good phone. pretty much only lacking in the radio department and the camera department.
but it is dirt cheap ($350 unlocked or $50 on contract though vzw) and it will still be one of the first phones to get the latest android update for at least another year.
if this guy needs to be on the cutting edge of technology, i would wait it out. but if he is more interested in a cheap, solid device that may be a little lacking in a couple areas....the galaxy nexus is still a Fine machine.
this is the first device i haven't been itching to get rid of after a couple months....hahah
I would suggest waiting it out. Bear with the crappy phone for a few more months lol. Still If I am to ask, I would not regret buying a Nexus now(probably used as long as it's in mint condition). Sold my Galaxy Note just recently and bought a brand new Nexus and I have no complaints(just the low sound volume but still worth it). You can't go wrong with this device. I will probably keep it for more than a year. Totally worth it

Which phone would you get?

Hey All,
I need some help making up my mind. I'd love to hear your input.
I moved to China in August. I had a Galaxy Nexus at the time. A bottle of vodka ended the life of that phone prematurely. I need to buy a phone to replace it.
I would prefer to buy a N4, but I don't have any friends or family coming to see me until the end of January, and I'm a little nervous about shipping a new electronic device into China.
I was checking out my options today, and it seems my best choice will come from the following: GNex, S3, Note 2, Meizu MX, or Oppo Finder.
If money were no object, and you were choosing one from that pool of devices, which would you go with? I'm having a hard time weighing the pros and cons of these different devices. And, as much as I enjoyed my GNex, I'm a little hesitant paying new-phone price for a phone that has some pretty old specs. Feel free to tell me I shouldn't feel this way. I might just need to hear it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends what forum you post on. Since you are on the nex forum, that will be the one that gets voted. Move over to the s3 forum and guess what they will tell you to get?
Always the same back and forth arguing. I would just try them out if you can in the store and see which you like best. Personally I like the nex because I hate UI overlays put on top of google (sense/tw)
I thought I might get a more honest response out of this crowd, because we are mostly people who have seen other devices released since we bought this phone. I imagine a lot of people here are waiting to upgrade and have been eyeing other devices the last couple of months.
I also really prefer stock Android and the whole Nexus experience. But I also really like new and shiny.

In a bit of a dilemma between the GNex and the N4

Right now, I have an Xperia X8. I've had this phone for over a year, and it's my first smartphone ever. During this year, I've flashed a lot so I know the basics around that stuff. And that's why I fell in love with Nexus phones. No possibilities of bricking your phone with just simply unlocking your bootloader (which I've done with my X8 once) and stuff like that.
Problem is, I currently live in Macedonia. Here, the new GNex costs 300 euros with a one year warranty. There's still no Nexus 4 here, but my friend's dad is in the US right now, and he may be able to buy one for me, but he'll be back here in about 2 months. And I can get the GNex in less than a week here. I already have the money as well. If he buys the Nexus 4 for me from the US, it'll cost about 300-320 euros. So the price is pretty much the same.
Now here's the problem: I don't know if I should wait for the Nexus 4, or just buy the GNex. I've been really impatient about buying a new phone. My brother bought a GNex a couple of weeks ago, and it's really good, especially for my standards.
The Nexus 4 is basically a performance upgrade, but mostly in heavy gaming. And I'm not really a heavy gamer. I only play small games like Temple Run and stuff like that, and not so frequently. And those run very smoothly in my brother's GNex. Even NFS:MW runs smoothly, and it's a heavy game.
What I don't like about the N4 though, is the fact that it's completely made of glass and there's a big chance I can break it. Plus, if I buy it from the US, the charger won't be compatible here. And I'm afraid that if I use some other one, it may not be good for the phone's battery. But that's just a theory of mine, not sure if it's actually true. And I've read that many people have had to exchange their original shipments because of some hardware factory bugs. And there's no possible way I can exchange mine.
Your input would be greatly appreciated. I really have no idea what to do. I'm leaning more towards the GNex though.
TLDR: Have to wait 2 months for Nexus 4, and less than a week for a new GNex. Same price here. Which one should I buy?
I also created this thread in the Nexus 4 Q&A section, but I want to hear your opinion as well. If this is against the forum rules, please feel free to remove it.
get rhe Gnex if you dont mind changing phone in around 1.5 years later .. if i were you i would get the N4 as it would last me at least 2 ears with google updates and around +1 more year from xda dev updates ~ hoped i helped ><

I'm sure I'll be able to change my phone 1.5 years later. And I'm pretty sure Google will keep updating the GNex as it's definitely a phone that can handle newer android versions. If not, like you said, XDA dev updates will help me out. But I'm really afraid of getting the N4 because of the great distance between Macedonia and the USA. What if it came with some manufacturer bugs? I'd die then. Like I said, the fake cheap charger I'd get here might make the battery worse, and the phone itself can be broken really easily :crying:
the gnex is great but you are saying that the price is same for both so i would say get the n4...
I love my g'nex, but I'd say n4. Is always a good idea to get the newest most powerful when your buying a new electronic, especially for the same price. As for hardware defects, the g'nex had all kind of hardware defect reports when it came out also. You have to keep in mind the users with problems are the ones complaining, if you don't have problems you don't say anything making defects look worse than they are.
Of course if you simply want an update now instead of in 2 months the g'nex is still an awesome device.

Okay guys, thanks a lot for your replies. I guess I'm gonna have to talk to my dad's friend about the N4.
I currently own the GN, but tomorrow by N4 should be arriving... so probably tomorrow I would be able to give you a better comparison. I would definitely wait the extra couple of months and get the N4... it's a year newer and has way better specs. My GN doesn't feel as snappy with 4.2 as it did with 4.1.2 (unless it's all in my head). I think 4.2 is a tiny bit more bloated... and that is probably the reason why they dropped the support for Nexus S.
As for charger compatibility... don't all android phones use microUSB chargers now? I use my HTC Desire and GN chargers on my my GN interchangably... and sometimes borrow chargers from Blackberry users at work. To be sure, you could check the specs on the charger to make sure they match (they're usually written on the plug).
I do love my GNex, its a really good phone and im sure that i will stay with it for more time. I think N4 doesnt justify an update, if you already have a GNex, but since its not your case I would recommend the N4 for very simple reasons... GNex still a top device and for sure it can handle the job for quite some time, but N4 is newer and has better specs. Unless the price difference between them is enormous, like it is here in Brazil.
Hope it helped, cheers.

Still worth buying?

I'm wanting to get a bigger Android tablet, and while the Nexus 9 exists, I just hear horror stories about it. That said, the Pixel C seems very hard to find and pretty expensive, so is it still worth getting, and if so, where in Canada can I find one (used is fine) for a decent price?
I really like my Pixel C. But is it worth it at current prices? I'd say no, not by a long shot. It's two years old. You can get a Galaxy Tab S2 or S3 for much less. You can get a giant Windows tablet and install Android.
In fact, if people are actually paying $500-600 for these things then maybe I should sell mine.
Yeah, the only Pixel C's I see on Kijiji around me are $500-600 CAD, Nexus 9's go for around half that
I have had mine for less than a month and I am already looking for a replacement. I dont like it.

What's wrong with it? I just played with one today to see it before buying, and I really like it.

Personally, I'd wait until the pixel/xl launch in case of any surprise announcements. If they say nothing, I'd be worried for the future of android tablets.
I'm kind of hoping for something to come of the chrome OS/Andromeda/fuchsia OS rumours in tablet form.
Well I ended up getting it, love it so far!
It was just so heavy vs my Samsung. If I drop this on my dog he will die ..lol
I was about to start a thread asking pretty much the same thing. I'm soooo done with other companies skins and such, and I want stock Android on all my devices. Soooo, I was looking at the pixel c, but it IS 2 years old, and the cheapest I can find it is the google store where it's $600... I would def get it if it were $300. But, like you all said, there are no tablets that are worth a crap! I really hesitate to buy another Samsung, because my note 10.1 2014 battery went to crap barely AFTER the warranty expired of course... So, I've had the $550 tab for 3 years with a battery that makes it so I can't hardly do anything on it. Games, even Chrome are out (I can literally watch the battery drain). The new pixel chromebook starts at $1000, so that's out too. Not sure what to do here! Does anyone know how long the pixel c will get Android updates for? I suppose that might sell me or turn me away.

I love it, too.
So, I contacted Google support to ask about OS/security updates. Looks like Oreo is the last OS update this tab will get. Security updates will continue for 18 months AFTER they finally remove the tablet from the Google store. Sooo, considering that, I just don't think I can bring myself to spend $600 on a two year old tablet that will not get anymore Android updates... Honestly, at two years old, this tablet is in no way worth $600! I would think the price should be more like $300 or so by now. Not sure why Google thinks they should charge that... Anyway, thanks anyway. I think I'm out on this one.

I'm still a fan here too, got one (64GB) off Swappa for just under $400 I think that is fair. But IMHO I agree $600 is quite a bit much, $400-ish is fair.
It is still a very nice device, and has stock google android, try that on a Samsung or ASUS, not gonna happen. Good luck even getting to 7.12 on those.
You can buy it on eBay. There is a pixel c selling with keyboard and case fore $380 right now. Buy it
I'd say yes! I got mine for $360 on eBay in December. I got a really nice case for only $15. Especially now that we have a RR ROM for Oreo, it totally rocks!
I just picked a 64G one w/ keyboard up 2nd hand off of ebay for a little less than $500. Probably still too much to pay, but I didn't want to go Samsung, so what are you gonna do? Worlds better than my aging nexus 9. Worth it in my opinion.
