I would assume the Commuter case would be the thinnest. I have the Impact case and it's pretty thick but the commuter uses a thinner gel skin with a relatively thin plastic shell.
How thick is the defender with out the clip.I hate to sound annoying, but I can't find anyone that sells them so I have to buy it online.

Super thick. I tried it for a few days and it was just too much. Probably makes the phone twice as thick. If you really NEED the protection than Defender is the way to go but if you just want to be protective than either the Impact or Commuter will be fine, it will just come down to preference. The Impact has good grip and is easy to take off/put on but it's a total lint catcher and it doesn't have a tight fit. The Commuter has an added layer with the plastic shell and has a tighter fit but the plastic also makes it slippery and it won't handle "impacts" as well as the Impact. (Seems obvious, right?)
I use the commutter on my Atrix and its perfect. Not too thick with very good protection, I'm not scared to drop it at all now.
Get the defender! I have been using it for two weeks! Dude I dropped my phone from like 7 feet! Nothing happened no scratches nothing! I nearly shat my pants! Defender ftw
Sent from my atrix using XDA App
the defender is roughly about 1.8cm
i actually ordered the impact case, but then they sent me the defender instead. however, ive decided to stay with it (since it actually cost more! so i got it for the price of an impact).
and now ive ordered the incipio case. i like the idea of having 2 cases. incipio for general daily use. then i can put it into the defender when im going out drinking (always drop stuff), and also when i go hiking/riding bikes etc.
^^ you should be GLAD
the impact sucks, big time

I finally found a great case. It fits extended battery. The Krusella leather pouch. No stupid belt clip, which is the best.
I am totally digging it.
Protection is not amazing, but good enough for me. Good enough for government work too...IMO.
Who else has a case they love?

I have an otterbox defender although when I got my zagg invisibleSHIELD, I haven't used it. It makes it JUST too big to fit lol.

I'm actually requesting a refund for my shield so I won't be parting with my defender for a while. I may look at getting a commuter, and then I'd sell it, but not until then.

I had a defender case when I had a BB. I like the commuter on my Dinc2 even better.
Seidio Surface Case. I can't imagine going with anything else. Bulky cases are too bulky. Silicon is too floppy. TPU hasn't been up to par with fit.
Seidio Active here. Absolutely love it!
IMHO, perfect case for this phone, adds the right amount of weight without being too bulky.
Also offers very good drop protection. With this case on no worries if it drop it, unless on concrete, but that barley ever comes out good!

Amen! I've had this case for nine months now...I bought the Otterbox Defender first. It was way to bulky for my taste. I LOVE the Seidio Surface thought, just enough protection while remaining slim.
I have a few.
Bodyglove colored case.
Qmadix case with holster.
Casemate tough case.
Trident Ageis case.
Krussell case for fancy outfits lol.

Unfortunately I have to stick with a silicon case with a little thing that helps me press the unlock button. It's sort of like a button replacement in a case! Wish I have a plastic case though. I could use volume wake....
I've had a Seidio surface case for a while, i'm currently using the incipio featherlight. Mixed feelings on both. Seidio comes apart a bit too easily, but the featherlight is kinda flimsy.
Silicon

Silicon cases are actually pretty nice (imo). Got a while ago and is holding up really well. Protected my phone from like a 4 1/2 foot drop onto asphalt and was still good

I really want one of those cases but I don't want to set up a pay pal. Those cases seem to be the go to case for extended batteries. I unfortunately purchased the ****ty Hyperion "case" and it f**king sucks.
With the normal battery, I used the Otterbox Commuter Case. I felt the phone by itself was too thin where I was scared of dropping it. The otterbox texture was pretty good and the dual casing added drop protection.
With the extended battery, I am using the moretalktime TPU case. Feels great, but like others have said, fitment is a little off.
It looks like what was i used in past on my inc2... cool

I wonder if it would help if you (VERY LIGHTLY) hit it with a heat gun and shrunk it a tiny bit.
Anyone care to spend the $ to find out?
Hi, i wanna buy a case for the s3,
i'm Debating between 3 case,
1.speck candy shell
2.otterbox
3.Case Mate Tough
I'd like to hear the Advantages and Disadvantages of each
tnx!
I have owned the otterbox defender and the commuter series. I am much happier with the commuter. It has a dual layer and the exposed layer is hard which I like better because the defender series had a soft shell that streched out and looked bad. Plus the commuter series is much smaller. It feels less bulky and mire high end.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
No for otterbox defender, it streches pretty easily

so what yes?
some one told me not for the otterbox becuse it's scrath, the other one told me that is good case.
someone else wrote not for the speck candy i'm Confused more than before
I am assuming you have already looked at the UAG case. If not, definitely check it out. I have a few friends that switched from Otterbox to the UAG and they love it. Good luck
no, i didn't hear about UGA
but he looks a very "massive" case and uncomfortable to carry the s3, put hin in the pocket etc
Not the case at all.
Not nearly as bulky as you'd think, and slides easily in and out of your pocket.
Great protection as well.
Does it have to be drop protection case?
Ive had quite a few. My fav as of now is the zoogue tpu, seidio surface, podera transformer case
Sent from my Galaxy S3 using neighbors wifi
Check out the Case Mate Phantom. It's a bit sleeker than the Otterbox but just as protective.

Griffin Survivor for drop protection and true dust protection. Mine stays on my hip crawling in basements, crawlspaces and attics everyday. Take the case off and still looks brand new.
Or wait for the Otterbox Armor series... Said to be "this spring", I ain't holding my breath for it though.

Hi i'm looking for a case for my HTC one and can't decide on to get either the Otterbox Commuter, Urban Armor Gear, or Trident Aegis. I like all three cases but can't decide. Can you guys/girls help me out?? If you want you can also suggest some other case that are protective but still stylish. Thanks!!!
You should check out the Incipio DualPro CF case it is one of my absolute favorites.
Easy choice the UAG, with the Otterbox the rubber piece will stretch and fit loose, the Trident looks very childish, that thing look like it was made by Fisher Price. I don't own a HTC One but in July i will have a year with a Orange UAG case on a Galaxy S3, still in perfect condition :good:

UAG for sure. I like the Commuter pretty well but I'm afraid that the inside rubber piece will stretch eventually.
UAG is solid. Just got a white one myself and really like it.
I ordered the white one as well

Does the UAG cover the power button? It looks like it does in the pix on the website but I can't tell.
By the way, the commuter rubber will not stretch, Otterbox is a very good case. The UAG looks too damn bulky but I may check it out anyway.

It isn't bulky at all if you're comparing to the Commuter. They're pretty much the same. And yes, the power button is covered, but not completely. It is hollowed out in the middle to allow for absolutely no lost functionality to the IR sensor.
The only reason I say the Commuter's inside piece might stretch is from past experience. The one for this phone does feel much better made, though, so maybe they solved that problem.
The UAG is the only case anyone should consider getting.

Got the Trident Aegis yesterday, had one on my last phone. Works pretty well, looks better than you might think from the pictures. Plus my kid likes to toss my phone around so I'm confident the rubber bumpers can absorb a pretty good drop.
Loving otterbox commuter fits great so does rubber no probs here ! Time will tell can't complain 25$ on amazon !

Looking for a new moto x case. I am looking for decent protection. I currently have a case mate naked case which isn't bad but I wouldnt mind something slightly heavier duty. I was interested in the Griffin reveal. Tell me which cases you like best and post pics if you want
Thanks

I have a Candy Shell Grip case by Speck I bought from Motorola's website when they had the 30% deal. Dual layer protection. I like it a lot better than the Incipio case I had previously. The Candy Shell case is a little harder to get on and off but overall it just feels better. Only issue is depending on the type of head phones it's a little tricky to plug in.

How slippery do you find that case when holding it in the hand though? I've had my eye on that case

I bought two of the bumper cases from Amazon and I am very pleased with them. Another user reviewed them here. Moto X Bumper Case Review.
As indicated in the other gentleman's review the case does an adequate job and protecting the corners and does add enough of a bezel to stop the front and back of the phone from touching the surface. If you are a minimalist like me this was the best option.
Slick Shell Bumper Case for Moto X
For $6.99 it was worth it.
I don't want a bumper. I need more protection than that

The siedo dilex case looks pretty good also. Anyone try that ?
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
I'm using a Trident Kraken AMS. Like an otter box, but much nicer build quality. Trident makes 5 cases for the moto x with varying degrees of protection/bulk. The kraken also disassembles into a slim slip on case. Check them out, been my favorite case on my last 3 phones.
Tridentcase.com
And their customer service is top notch.
I don't like the huge corners on the Kraken AMS, but i like the Aegis Case

The PureGear Griptek case I reviewed here is my favorite: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563886
Have the Otterbox Commuter and it is going back. Too hard to put on/take off, and the buttons are horrible. The PureGear looks good, but I recently discovered the Amzer Pudding. Have had great results with them in the past so I have one on the way... will report back when received.

I don't think it's all that slippery. It has a real nice feel to it. Glad I bought it. The case also has the extensions on the buttons like an Otterbox. Besides the A-Case I had for my GS3 and GS4 this is my favorite case.
Still liking the Aegis better

I think the Candy Shell offers the same protection. It's all one piece. It's also a little tricky to get on and off.
As for the Trident cases, I've never used one so I couldn't comment on them.
I picked up the Otterbox Commuter case in all black and I like it so far. It seems to offer a good amount of protection without TOO much bulk. It is a little large, however.
Found the Griffen reveal on sale for $10 so I picked it up. Its pretty nice, but I wouldn't mind more protection
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
I have the supcase in blue and frosted clear back. I love this thing. Doesn't add much bulk and already survived a drop with no damage. It hit the corner and bounced, then landed on it's face.
