Locked out of new Note 2

Okay, So I bought a used Note 2 off of Craigslist. Before I bought it I used it, checked the settings, it was 4.2.1 had multiwindow and so I thought, let me check my SIM card. I put my SIM card in and let the phone boot up. I saw the 4G LTE and I thought I was good. When it came to price I haggled a little but I told the seller how much I was willing to pay before he agreed to meet. Anyways, he seemed sore but took the deal. I get in my truck and leave. I go to unlock the phone and it has a passcode. I call the guy, no answer. I got a text back stating sorry. So because he felt ripped off I can't get in to the phone. Any suggestions?

Shut phone down. Then hold volume up + home button + power button until you get to the recovery screen. Then select factory reset using the volume rocker and power button. Reboot and you should be good to go.

You should report that person to the cops. If you have the original post and any contact with the guy should do. What a prick.

It might not be stolen now, just hope the guy isn't a real jerk and reports the phone stolen afterwards.

Um...wrong, try again

Well the phone is registered to me now, according to AT&T. Hopefully he can't report it stolen now. I also meant 4.1.2, my mistake. Only thing is, before I spoke to AT&T I rooted it via odin. Now I can't get the latest update the phone keeps telling me about from AT&T. Is it important?

Actually you are wrong seeing as a note 2 on 4.2.1 would not be running touchwiz and not have multiwindow available.

I will never buy a phone from somebody on Craigslist or used from anywhere else for that matter

Not registered to network

I need help guys, I was using my phone for only a week when all of a sudden I can't call or text or listen to my voice mail... instead I keep recieving "not registered to network" messages when i try and do anything involving data. When I go to my settings to enable data, its already on, but when I look for an available network, it turns off my data.. its like a never ending loop. Regardless of which I do first. My s4 is rooted but I doubt that could be the issue becauze it worked with my phone being rooted, anyone have any solution other than replacement?

Take a look to your apn and also make sure your IME has a # like 03 instead of just a 0 also check that on mobile networks make sure that the LTE/GSMA something lik that.. Is checked.. Make sure it has the LTE...

Idk what you ment by the ime # not having an 03, but I checked and made sure everything else was in the right position and they are, but its still being stubborn

Maybe, but why randomly stop working? Before this situation, my phone was sending me errors about how I couldnt wifi call due to an outdated sim card, so I went and got a new one, that didnt work.

And all you've done it root it? That's not going to cause your issue, and you have a new SIM. It's starting to look like bad hardware.

Wait.. I think your right about the whole SIM deal, I switched to Family Mobile about a week ago and they dont really have new sim cards just the original big than micro, so im going to take a guess and say it is the sim

That's most likely what it is then. So they are giving customers cut down regular SIM cards? I'm lost...

Nah, when you purchase the SIM Card, its a big one but within side is a micro-sim, that you can pop out incase you desire one, but if you need the big one, you can easily pop the micro back into the big. Thanks for your help man, I guess im going, to be phoneless for a little

That always sucks... Try turning off data and setting the Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA auto, maybe you can at least txt and call...

Thanks for everything man, turns out my imei number got locked after I reported this phone stolen, I called tmobile just earlier today and now I just wait 48 hours before my phone will be active again

Outgoing and incoming calls

Hey guys. I need your help!
I got onto T-Mobile 5 months ago. Very happy with the service. Fast reliable 4G-LTE network!
I'm having a major issue which I can't find a sulotion and maybe here I'll be able to troubleshoot it.
For the past 3 weeks. When I make or receive a call from my phone the other person can't hear me! Or when I get a phone call the other person can't either as well
I took the sim card out. Put it in a different samsung galaxy s4 and it works perfectly fine.
Does anyone have, had this before in the past and found the cause to it. Please please please help me out here!

Have similar issue and usually have to call everybody twice before the call connects or even rings out. Looking for a solutuon myself. Good luck.

Try using the headset when making or getting a call. Be sure it's the original Samsung issue that came with the phone.
if they hear you, then it might be the phone's microphone is out of whack. Then also try voice recorder. see if it can record. if it does, the Mic. is good...
could also be the mic jack has crud in it. Pocket lint sometimes causes all kinds of weird problems...

That's not the issue. The issue is that it connects. But Cant hear and the person doesn't hear me as well

I just performed a hard reset on the device. So far it's working ? ? but I'm still eager to know what's the cause of the problem!

I have NK2 and I have exact same issue. I tried flashing odin several times but no help. I dont know what to do.

try this.open google now settings and disable "ok google" detection from any screen.
reboot and try calling again.

Sd card on note2 problems

Hi guys,
Any1 had any problems with sdcard on the phone.
Couple of days it is working than suddenly it says that card is mot readable or even it is pulled out.
I have checked the card and bought new samsung card but problems are stil here.
Any1 have an idea what is wrong?

Yeah. Ever since the update that Samsung pushed out it has been giving me tons of issues. I just changed to another device. I'm tired of Samsung tbh

Why does my phone thinks my sim card is gone?

In having the same problem! It's so annoying, it's happening more and more frequently. I'm going to have to bring my phone into sprint!
