So ever since I updated to ne6, tapatalk has issues with xda, but ONLY on wifi. Works perfectly when using cellular. Sometimes I can hey it to behave on wifi for a minute, but then it goes back to not loading things. I have other forums on tapatalk as well, and they work fine.
I'm lost. I've tried wiping cache (both sys/dalvik and app) reset the app completely, tried wifi powersave disabled and enabled, checking hosts file, dns settings, etc., even reset my entire network... nothing makes a difference. Everything else works 100%, even other forums on tapatalk.
I wouldn't post here if I weren't at the end of my ability to figure it out. Anyone got any ideas?

I have been experiencing this problem the past several days as well on my completely stock Nexus 5. I have to disconnect from my home Wi-Fi to get the XDA app to work.
Interesting, so it may not be related to the firmware update. May be coincidental. Thanks for the data point!

I always have issues with Tapatalk with EVERY phone I`ve owned in the last year. Just a random assortment of problems. But on my Note 3 it seems a bit slower loading though.
having the same issue with NB4 so it doesn't appear to firmware related.

I've been having loading issues for a long time, I figured it was on xda's end or tapatalk's

I couldn't take it anymore. I googled the XDA Premium 4.0.5 apk and rolled back to that version. Everything is working wonderfully now. 4.0.7 is just awful.

Hi all,
Since flashing 4.1.2 (after a complete wipe) my data connection sometimes doesn't connect after disconnecting from wifi.
I see the "H" icon but the bars stay gray and the connection is down.
The only way to fix this once it happens is to reboot, which is quite annoying...
I've had this problem before on 4.0 but it eventually went away.
I tried both the default xxlf radio and uglh.
EDIT: I should mention I'm running stock and rooted.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have the exact same problem.
Appeared with 4.0.4 , solved with 4.1, but broken again with 4.1.2
rebooting solves nothing, nor airplane mode.
I have to delete and reset my APN's
I'm not rooted
Me too...

Same here. Only way to fix it is through a reboot. Airplane mode trick doesn't work for me at all. Seems to happen much more often when I switch from H back to E when I'm done browsing on work breaks.
Same think for me, reboot to resolve.
I'm on slimbeam 2.8 and Trinity S63, but same problem on CNA ...
Nice to see I'm not the only one...
I'll open a bug report tonight (assuming there isn't one already)

Mine only seems to do it if I constantly go back and forth between HSPA and EDGE(like I stated before). Kinda sucks. lol. Wonder what happened that could've caused this.
Stock, Rooted, Unlocked bootloader
This happens to me almost every single time. I find that turning off LTE then turning it back on seems to work.
EDIT:
Also is it only me, or does JB take over 2 minutes to boot up? Long story short I used OTA Rootkeeper to keep root, I installed the update.zip in CWM and it installed. CWM didn't have to be reinstalled and my Bootloader stayed unlocked. When I installed the OTA update.zip though I didn't clear cache or do a wipe, I just installed it, could that be leading to my O.S. issues?

Hi,
I am wondering if it is normal that wifi speeds slow down after a certain time. My wifi at home can reach up to 22 Mbps down and say in a couple hours for example it would drop to 10 Mbps. Immediately I would restart my phone and it would be back up to normal speeds of 20ish Mbps. I do multiple back to back tests on speedtest.net app and my wired connections and other wireless devices are consistent.
My wifi does not disconnect and it has no problems connecting to other souces. At work i have the same wifi issues.
I have a Canadian Rogers Note 2. I am rooted and flashed to cleamrom 4.0.5, fully wiped and reset before flash with twrp. I have tried turning off power saving mode during the slow wifi transmissions and still have this issue,
I am lost as to what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yes this is for me as well I have been on clean rom and now stock and it continues to do the same not a huge deal but I just noticed it last night im on mediacom if thats any help

In the meantime I have installed My Data Manager to see if there is any unknown wifi data transmitting while this problem is happening. When I had the phone bone stock I really did not monitor this issue.
I use the international rom and I notice YouTube buffers longer than it should than it chops shortly after. I just tried recycling wifi and now it's snappy again.question now is how long it will last

I notice link speed drops to about 5mb when directly infront of AP
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I have been playing with this issue for a few days now. I can sort of recreate this by leaving the wifi range and entering. This will create that speed drop I described in my first post. By turning on and off the wifi toggle resolves this.
While using My Data Manager it shows no mystery wifi or data transfer in the backgound. Everything checks out in that aspect.

I did not notice a drop when infront of the AP.
I'm running stock Att and started having slow wifi speed after the 4.1.2 update. Toggling the wifi fixes the issue but it slows down again eventually.

yeah this blows. I don't know where the fault is. Running cleanrom 4.0.5 with its kernal. I don't believe I have really modified anything other than flashing the rom and a few zips here or there.
Normally it isn't a big deal but it really seemed to cause issues when syncing for the first time with dropbox yesterday. I had to keep restarting wifi. I think part of that was dropbox but 4 gb took literally hours to get done
I don't know if it happens on cleanrom 4.2.5

I am on CleanROM 4.5 right now and it behaves the same way. I did read on another thread that there is a possible fix by replacing the 'wifi' folder with the one from Android 4.1.1.
Here is the whole thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956155&highlight=wifi+problem
I have performed the suggested fix and will monitor the issue when I go about my daily routines.
Any new info on whether your idea worked? I'm experiencing the same thing you guys are.

has anyone experienced their phone turning itself off, and the only way to turn it on is to pull the battery and restart it?
Never heard of that..at least on our note. I have experienced a weird rabdom reboot. Not sure of the relevance between the two but still falls under the weird category. Some say avast security causes these things...
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I dont have avast installed. I have had the phome for about 10 days and it has happened about 5 times. the only thing that I have noticed that is it happens when I look at my phone after I get out of my car which makes me think it might have something to do with bluetooth because I have uconnect in my car. I am running stock rooted ljc and have already tried a fresh install and it still happens.
Ive had the exact same problem on stock LJC when I leave my car having used the phone with Bluetooth. The led is usually flashing and the screen is stuck off until a batter pull.
I have not noticed any other lock ups like this otherwise when not using BT. Ive had the phone 2 months.

I have had this happen twice this week but chalked it up to being a custom kernel issue....it happened in the same exact location each time...while streaming pandora in the car....in a spot undergoing network vision upgrades. I will have to test it further

I know that there were some bluetooth fixes in lk8 I wonder if that was one of them. I cant run it cuz I need my wifi to work all the time. maybe it was adressed in ma5. does anyone running either of those builds have an issue like this?
I've ran lk8 on stock deodex and ma5 and haven't had any problems with wifi. But I only use it on my home network.

What kernel?
I was getting rogue restarts/shutdowns in calls on some of the Perseus kernels. Alpha29 IIRC.

I am on the stock kernel. only things different from stock out of the box are root, and I installed twrp from that goo app from the play store.
Update....
After running ma5 for the last 3 days I have not had this issue any more. If anyone is still having this issue I would recommend to flash ma5.
That's good news. Are you using just the updated modem firmware or an entire rom of MA5?

The entire rom.
Before the rom was available I flashed just the modem and still had the issue, but since ive been on the full rom it hasnt happened.
I guess I will update as well...I flashed the new modem and latest perseus kernel and have not had the shut off issue in the location it was previoisly occuring at.

I did the rooted no data oc and I was getting wakelocks from bluetooth share. I un paired and then repaired the phone with my car and the wakelocks went away. Just a heads up.
Hmmmmmm.... never had that happen to me. I am a power user too. I can drain the battery in 5 hours if I try hard.
Ive had my s4 since may. Ive flashed many roms on my s4.
This problem started last week. My s4 was running on the alpha s4 v1.5 rom. I updated it to alpha s4 v3.0 and it was all good till this started ocurring. The wifi would work when I rebooted, but if I left my house and came back, the wifi wouldnt turn on. It would act like it was turning on, but it would just stay "turning on"
I thought this was an issue with the rom, so I flashed wicked v5.1. My wifi acted the same way, but this time, the wifi would only work if I booted it into recovery and flashed it again.
Again, I thought it was the rom, so I decided to just keep it stock on tmobile's official rom, which I flashed with odin. Same damn problem.
I figured it might be the kernel, so I flashed deviant kernel. It worked at first, but when I woke up wifi was turned off, and bluetooth as well; they were both turned off and would not turn back on unless I restarted the phone.. please help
Im kind of a noob, so go easy on me..
And yes, I made sure to do clean installs of the roms.

I've been having the same issues with my wifi. Normally a reboot will fix the issue. But annoying none the less. My phone hard bricked the end of June, sent it in for repair, and it's been doing that since I received the phone back

That is a kernel issue, try flashing a different kernel....it will work.
Thank you
Well I just flashed a different kernel, but this time my wifi didnt even turn on; it just went straight to "turning on". I guess I can just keep on flashing different kernels until I get it right

nope, it started while i was using the alpha rom v3.0. i was having some problems while i was using it, and then switched to wicked 5.1 rom. still didnt work properly, so i odin flashed to stock tmobile rom. then i flashed multiple kernels, with no success. today, i decided to flash back to the alpha 3.0 rom that i have, and it just didnt work. i am now downloading alpha 5.0 rom and a bioshock 1.0 kernel... hope fully it works...
On all 4.3 ROMs including stock wifi autoscanning is broken. It works for a while but after deep sleep it stops. This causes it to not connect to known networks and leaves you on mobile data unless you manually open the WiFi menu.

Really mine doesn't do that?
I'm on SlimBean Build 2 with Fancy kernel. No problems here with Wi-Fi that I notice. Maybe this isn't much, but I make full-use of Profiles such that my 'Home' profile turns off Mobile Data and turns on Wi-Fi.
This has happened on mine more than a few times. I'm not totally sure what conditions cause it to occur, but it definitely exists.
Two of us here at my office have this issue. Friday, I went back to stock 4.2.2 then the wifi was good again. Then Saturday, I let the phone update to 4.3. Wifi problem again. Today I went back to 4.2.2 again and the wifi is working again. I'm not sure why Google hasn't fixed this. Please do!
Maybe they did fix it already. Android 4.4 is already out.
