[Q] Ran into problems when trying to unlock and flash rom - Droid RAZR M General

When I tried to unlock and flash a custom rom, I got a screen that reads:
Device is locked. Status code: 0
battery OK
Connect USB
Data Cable
Fastboot Reason: Flash failure.
I can get it to power up normally and run on stock, but I have to do the "hold power, volume up, volume down" thing everytime and it's really annoying. Would like to be able to unlock and flash CM if anybody can help. If not possible, I would just like to able to run the stock rom without having to go through the bootloader issue everytime I restart the device. The current build is 9.8.1Q-94-1 PLEASE HELP ME!
I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff and would really appreciate some help.

What was your "system version" under settings>about phone? 98.16.1.XT907.Verizon.US or newer?

That's bad. Your bootloader can't be unlocked anymore.
And for the boot failures, try wiping cache in recovery and if it doesn't help you must wipe data.

I'm very new to this stuff. How exactly do I do that?

Turn your phone off. When turned off, press power, vol+ and vol- simultaneously, then select recovery (scroll by vol-, select vol+) you will see something like dead Android. Press vol- and then vol+ (do not release vol-) now you will get in recovery. Scroll by vol+/vol-, select by power, now select "wipe cache partition" and then reboot.

I tried the wipe cache and wipe data, yet I still get the screen described in my initial post
EDIT: just kidding
Now the initial screen described in my first post says:
Fastboot reason: key pressed.
I just want to get it back to where it powers on and off like it would out of the box.

Are you rooted?

Yes. Verified with root checker.

Hmmm, it's crazy. But when you have root, it's not problem to backup data and apps, do factory reset and then restore. So try wiping data (settings>backup&reset>factory reset, or select "wipe data and factory reset" in recovery).

Bump.
I tried wiping data/factory reset and wiping the cache partition in recovery, yet my phone still runs into the error where it says fastboot reason: flash failure. I'm running into major issues with my data connection and I think this may be the root of the problem. PLEASE HELP!

big problem

Hi, tried to put CM7 on my Tmob UK defy tonight, the market wouldn't work so I made a big mistake and factory reset, It is now stuck on Google start screen, I can't find anything to flash it, please help!
I have the same problem, did you find a solution?
Have you tried to start your phone pressing volume+ and power? In this mode you should be able to flash Froyo again...
couldn't find a correct rom to flash with, the battery has died now
Ask one fried to charge your battery or try the Mac Gayver method. Then you must start your phone intro stock recovery (Vol Down + Power) and wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache.
Now you must start it into bootloader (Vol Up + Power) and flash a Froyo (2.2.2, preferably an official release) SBF from here or here.
PS: in the future try to use the search function as it won't bite.

Never factory reset the phone via stock recovery when on cm7 , only use custom recovery.

[Q] Boot failure in Xperia S. Is it bricked

Can anyone help me, My new Xperia S failed to boot after 10 days of perfect working. It suddenly switched off and upon restart repeatedly "SONY" and "Xperia" keep flashing.
No Warranty
Never fell or slipped
Tried SUS, Software repair
Tried Flash Tool but system not detecting the device.
Can anyone help me out please or is it dead..
Ravi
Retry with flashtool
Push power button and vol+ for 10 second( until vibrate 3 time) , next connect to pc with vol- buttone pressed and green led will apper. Next flash with flashtool. You're having a bootloop
It's very hard to brick Xperia, bootloader is quite unahackable,

Thanks but i tried and it failed

If you have unlocked bootloader flash any kernel with cwm, do wipe cache, dalvick cache, made a factory reset, and reinstall all with flashtool
If bootloader locked, download another stock Rom , when in flashtool tick all the box( also wipe data) , and flash

Its still the same, Irritating and repeating SONY and Xperia logos.
So, you can't even connect your LT26i to your PC? It just powers up and goes into a never-ending bootloop?
Any are you SURE you're connecting your phone to your PC correctly (for FlashTool?)?
Like:
-start FlashTool and select stock FW to flash
-hold vol- (and only vol-, no power or other buttons)
-connect to USB, quickly (have the cable ready, just be quick, but don't be clumsy)
-flash the stock FW
Are you SURE you're doing EXACTLY like that?
Try installing adb drivers and using fastboot, flash the right kernel to sxs , then using cwm, wipe data , dalvik cache and fix permissions. Then reboot.

Sounds like a bad kernel problem to me. What rom were you on previously? Did you try flashing that one?

By ROM you mean - the software - It was ICS 4.0.4
6.1.A.2.45
I tried flashing that 2-3 times but nothing happened, how to solve kernel issue?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729280
Flash that via fastboot and see if it works.
Also why isn't SUS working? Bootloader unlocked?
If u r in ICS, get a proper kernel.elf from net and for jellybean get the right .elf file
.
Seqrch and Download adb drivers along with fast boot from the internet for the Sony xperia s . ( to install adb drivers,
Check a YouTube video on " how to unlock boot loader xperia s part 1" ) use that video to install adb drivers.
see the video on how to open the fast boot command window.
Then with the right elf file (kernel) in the same folder as the fast boot, type fastboot boot flash kernel.elf
After u get a "done" message, type fastboot reboot
Then access the CWM by holding volume up button during boot(in the beginning)

You need fastboot in your pc.
When you are in bootloader, press power on "fastboot" and connect it with your pc. (you see wrote: "fastboot usb")
Now, open a dos and move to folder where you have fastboot and write: "fastboot erase cache"

hold down vol - and press power till you get to bootloader.
Then unlock your phone, load recovery and go into recovery.
You got this error because you didnt load recovery
Fastboot erase cache will work with a locked bootloader.
May I ask why you need to wipe cache?

wipe cache might be favorable to clean up the cache left behind. i know with the wife's One X the cache cleaner apps can take a while
I went into the hard boot mode, I freaked out bcuz I got the red triangle. I got no option to clean the cache. the device now is slow and it is taking forever for the other cache cleaner apps to stop searching for the cache. previous to this it was reasonably fast.
and my reason i wanted to clear the cache is because the play store wasnt behaving. the wife didnt want to do a full restore. but now i may have to. at least the phone is back online. it was stuck in the dreaded red triangle mode. her One X is also unrooted and stock.
Boot into bootloader (Vol - and power)
Select Recovery
When the exclamation mark comes up press Vol + and Power
You will then see a new menu with wipe cache etc

[Q] Device not booting after flashing wrong kernel

I unlocked bootloader nd rooted my xperia ion. And after that i accidentally flashed kernel of xperia P cyanogenmod. Now the phone does not boot. I mean it just keeps on vibrating. What to do?? Is it soft bricked?? The phone is not connecting in fastboot mode, otherwise i would have flashed the appropriate kernel for the particular rom. I followed the routine procedure of pressing volume up button nd connecting the usb cable.

Flash stock kernel from stock.ftf with flashtool on flashmod
Sent from my Xperia S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Try long press power button and volume up and wait when phone 3 times vibrations then connect phone in fastboot mode and flash correct kernel. Remember cm or fxp kernel don't work with sock rom or Rom who based on sock rom. If that don't help use flash tool or Emma. That's work on Xperia S . If I help use thanks button.

phone kaput after flashing?

/solved
;
;mostly human error all good
the story so far....
downloaded and installed stock 4.4.4
rooted, backed up TA, unlocked boot loaders, flashed philz touch
downloaded latest aokp 17/07 build and latest gapps, go to twrr, wiped and flashed, wipe cache to be clean, reboot system....
and now it is bricked, screen dead, power button only get a single vibrate every few seconds if held, red reset does nothing, only response i get from the phone is if usb plugged in and volume up is held i get the blue led.
really unsure what to do from here besides cry, hoping someone can help and save my little expensive paperweight, will donate $20 to anyone that saves my ass.
last option before throwing it can a service center fix this or is she a goner?
with fastboot, flash the boot.img of the aokp .zip file (place it in the same folder of fastboot.exe)
and enter this code
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
now i just need the aokp screen to get past the boot logo animation

Ok after unlocking bootloader, did u boot up to system once? Or simply flashed philz recovery and flashed aokp without booting into system?
