Hello,
My phone is stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo. I have recently wiped the system in twrp and factory restored. I tried flashing stock firmware and nothing changes, it just sits at the logo.
What can I do to fix this?
Yes, I am a complete noob. Thanks for any help!

If it still continues then u will need to flash a kernel too
Here is I thread on stock root injected .tar's. This is for odin .... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004650
Hey guys,
I'm a noob at this and tried doing my research but I'm not at a dead end.
I wiped my system with TWRP.
I was on Jedi Mind Trick X4.
I wiped internal storage, system, dalvik cache, and cache.
Now I can't install a new rom. It fails.
The rom I am flashing is the official t-mo t989 jelly bean OS.
It says no MD5 file found...
something about partition...
and fails.
What do? :silly:
Can you provide the link you downloaded it from? I think you're trying to flash an Odin ROM

Here's the thread link, and here's the download link.
So you tried to flash this ROM thru Odin? Or thru your phones recovery?

Looking at the DL page there is a tar file inside the zip file that you use to flash thru Odin. Is that how you flashed it?

I tried flashing it with TWRP recovery.
I just now realized that you can only flash it with ODIN. My mistake.
Now the phone is stuck in the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." screen.
I removed the battery, replaced battery, held volume up + volume down, and plugged USB in and it got to the custom OS screen.
I pressed volume up and it just goes back to the 'firmware encountered an issue screen.'
What should I do now?
DISREGARD, GUYS
I just figured out that even if you're on on the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." screen, you can still use ODIN to flash a rom.
Glad you figured it out

Hey
I am trying to update my samsung galaxy s2x telus to jelly bean 4.1.2 through kies.
I get this weird message
Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies
Current firmware version: PDA:LE4 / PHONE:MC4 / CSC:LE4 (TLS)
Previously, I already updated to Jelly bean 4.1.2 through kies, due to some issues i restored my backup(version 4.0.3)
Is there any workaround for this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Do you have a custom recovery installed ?

You can't update through kies with a custom recovery, you'll need to Odin to a stock telus ROM first, then update through kies.

Why not just flash a custom rom based off stock??? Boom....done.

You gotta read back through the rom threads. Boot loops are very common, lots written in the threads about them....and fixes too.

And you probably need to flash the new Telus or T-Mobile radio when you flash the roms. They are the only 2 radios that work with any of our current up to date roms.

The first thing you should do is upgrade to the latest recovery version, CWM or TWRP, it could be a wipe problem.
I cant find where the modems are for the galaxy s4, Im looking for the newer bootloader and mk2 modems because the phone im trying to flash a rom to lost its data and the calls are coming in weird where the screen is black for like 30 sec before I see the call...can anyone help
This is how I updated my modem to mk2. I wouldn't recommend updating your bootloader as you'll end up with Knox: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544612

That strange screen is just like the normal download mode screen.
All it means is that the previous odin flash did not fully complete.
All you need to do is to make sure you have the proper stock odin
flash TAR / MD5 file and start the odin flash again.
That weird screen usually comes up when we try flashing a non compatible stock
odin flash rom so just be sure that what you flash is either the official stock rom or
a rom which is specifically designed for your specific phone's model.
Good luck!

im getting "system software not authorized by samsung has been found on your phone" on my screen all the time now...

well thats the thing, i tried to odin to stock, and it doent seem to change it always goes back to odin mode or sits on the splash screen
Boot into recovery and do a factory reset. You have to do that when Odining back to stock frequently or it gets stuck booting up.

i was on 4.3, trying to get data to work, so i followed the post on the rom's thread, then I ended up messing it up
so basically, at this point, no recovery working, just odin mode and download mode, and gets stuck at splash screen
It sounds like you tried to downgrade to 4.2 from 4.3 accidentally.

Try going into download mode. Then press down and have it reboot and hold volume up and power till there are blue words at the top over the Samsung (then release) and flash any ROM you have on your SD card from recovery.

well im downloading the firmware you showed me, itll take some time, but when i saw the blue words previously, it showed, then disappeared and went into "odin mode"
I know what you mean but I think you can still get into recovery. You just have to release volume up + power as soon as you see the blue words. For me I can only get it, at the moment, after going into download mode first.
