when i did it on mine, i searched though threads and never needded more than the 1st post and following OP posts (and i only read, without any questions or even new threads), if u still need to have this thread make a mod to move it to Q&A or general
Posting in the correct section would be a good start
There are plenty of guides & tools that will root 2.3/4/5 firmware.
Look in the Dev section for the AAHK that will do it for you.
Ty andyharney!
Think that did the trick..

Hello,
Somebody knows how to enable boot sound in HTC Desire GSM with CyanogenMod 7.1 ROM??
I was searching for a solution for our device but I couldn't find anything...
I also tried all the solutions that I found for the other devices but it seems that aren't compatible with HTC Desire GSM because nothing worked.
Please anyone can help me?
Thanks in advance!
This is so important it has to be in the development section. :banghead:
via xda app
a better question is how you are able to post on development section as this is your first post.

I was searching related information and trying to solve it the last 5 days.
It's obviously that isn't a very important issue, but on the other hand, I think it's a technical problem that cannot be solved by a normal user.
In XDA, I've readed the same thread in other sub-forums of other devices, thats why I posted my thread here.
I've also readed the BEFORE POSTING thread, and then I've decided that this is the better section to post. And if I've correctly interpreted the rules, this section it's for advanced technical issues (NOT FOR IMPORTANT ISSUES) related with development, or ROM development, in that case CM 7.1, because that only occurs with that ROM, with other ROMS the sound can be loaded on Boot Screen.
If I am wrong and this thread has to be posted on another section, please let me know, but it's not necessary to miss your education.

Sorry to say, but you are wrong.
As you clearly state in the topic this is a question and questions belong into the q&a forum. Please read the Forum-Rules.
The answer for your question is:
CM don't has a bootsound. And it's not possible to enable, but to add it.
You'll need an .mp3 , rename to android-audio.mp3 and put it into the same folder as your boot animation.

That is not working in case of HTC Desire GSM with CM and I don't understand why...
I put the same original android-audio.mp3 of the original ROM, or the "droooid" android-audio.mp3 and no matters where I put the mp3 file:
* /data/local
* /system/media
* /system/customize/resource
...
the audio never sounds when bootanimation is playing at the device's boot.

any senior member or an expert would like to help with me complete steps
i have htc desire , 8gb sd card , lol and yes usb cable... please anybody help me
thanks and sorry to flood with same question again
Go to HTC developer website. Search desire gingerbread official update, download it to pc, connect phone to pc via usb cable, start the downloaded file, wait 20-30 minutes. Done. Optional ( Now go to revolutionary website for rooting and s-off. )

Hello everyone here,
I've been a htc user for 5 years now, first the touch cruise then touch hd and now the wildfire.
I've tried flashing before with the touch hd (blackstone) and that never worked...
I've tried now with htc wildfire and i keep failing over and over...
i used the evo3 one click app, but that doesn't work either, when i now try to recover i get a red triangle and an exclamation mark...
My actual question:
Can somebody here post me a step by step tutorial on how to easily flash and put a custom build on my wildfire? (i just need a faster one, that looks a little bit better and runs really stable...)
thanks in advance!

Hello,
sorry for my bad English.
This is the moment most widespread custom build Cyanogenmod 7 for Wildfire.
with me everything went according to the instructions given in the bottom of CyanogenMod itself.
Unfortunately I can not have any items that are not links from XDA.
No problem, I try to write a bit about.
therefore:
cyanogenmod.com -> devices -> HTC Wildfire -> Wiki -> HTC Wildfire: Full Guide update
I think this is the best and easiest option.

Hi guys.. am actually not new to stuff like these but i am a newbie to this section.... I've been using the forum before as a MOTOROLA DEFY user .. which I customized and still using... latest CM10 ....really no problem about that.
Well lets get to the point ... I am buying a HTC DESIRE HD from a friend in 2 days ... which is really stock and i want to customize and up to date it like my MOTO DEFY...
Am trying to look for STEP BY STEP guides but they are bits and pieces here n there and I cant understand what needs to be done or when to be done, some of them are not up to date...
there is a guide like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454854&highlight=guide but it is not very helpful to understand this device
Is there any guide like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
I want to understand the device completely before i get started on it
Anyone got any ideas or someone please point me to the right direction
Thanks/Regards

If you give a careful read you will see that ACE is the code name for your device. Boot in hboot and you will see that says: ACE PVT S-ON
Besides that is posted in the DHD forum so, it is for the HTC ACE (Desire HD / Inspire 4G)
NICE
