Trying to load new rom to replace old, status 7 - HTC One X

Hi,
Many moons ago I flashed Icecoldjelly onto my HTC One X International (Vodafone UK)...
I am trying to move to CM11 or xenonHD but encounter issues whenever I try to load the zip. I'm sure it's a senior moment, but hope you can help!

Did some research and found my cwm was out of date, so I have cwm recovery 5.8.4 installed now but the same problem, and get status 7 when running through any kind of rom install.
What am I doing wrong here? If I need to post any extra info, more than happy to!
Thanks!!

Even the 5.4.8 cwm is out of date and this is your problem. Donwload the latest cwm recovery from the official site
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk

Or go the CM11 thread, it should have a link to the recovery in the OP.

Sorry, such a critical typo!!!
I am using CWM Recovery v5.8.4.0
*Edit - i'm an idiot! Will actually update the CWM and report back....*

Well, cwm won't update using rom manager, so I am trying more manual methods, but I cannot get my PC to recognize the phone. I've tried a whole bunch of different drivers from XDA and google and also HTC Sync. Have you encountered this issue before? Could it be ICJ that is causing the issue...

[Q] Please help my HOX

Hello everyone,
I've reciently flashed a new ROM to my HOX (HD Revolution 9) and although the package says that it has installed correctly it wont boot past the bootloader. I have also tried to flash CleanROM 5.1 but it still reboots into Bootloader. I have CWM recovery installed and it even does the same when I backup from my original NANDROID back-up.
I have flashed the boot.img files for both of the ROM's I've tried and cleared the Cache.
My phone currently says:

I've tried the search function, can somebody please help
Thanks
Dan
Edit : did you do a FULL WIPE in recovery before flashing the new rom/restoring the nandroid !
Yes, I have just tried it again using CleanROM and the install completes but i'm back at bootloader after rebooting from recovery. I have also noticed that I now have a completely blank SD card Not bothered about the lost data but would really like the phone to work again
Is this rom jelly bean ?
If so u will most likely need hboot 1.31 and above

If you mean the ROM is named CleanROM, then it is a rom for the dual core at&t version.
Or do you mean rom cleaner?
Anyways only install roms from this section.

[Q] Help me with a stuck at boot problem

I'm having quite the problem here. I'm currently stuck at the boot screen "quietly brilliant", but I am able to go to bootloader and recovery. I'm aware of the fact that I need to install a RUU, but I haven't yet been able to find the one I need. Before all this I couldn't use my touchscreen so I'm therefor unable to use twrp-recovery and only CWM. I've been reading for the past two days, even this http://is.gd/jKZVUH, couldn't solve my problems. My phones information is:

as your touch is not working u can try CWM without touch support that only works with the volume keys and power button and try downloading a nadroid backup of ur version main 3.20.401.1 and restore it in CWM maybe that might help ur phone to boot up

Ok so I tried to restore this nandroid http://is.gd/cGbRKK but it didn't work. Still stuck at the "htc, quietly brilliant" screen. I think the only solution is to install an RUU, but I can't find the right one. Any suggestion?

Have tried a RUU, which was adressed to this CID, but it failed to install, I don't know if it was because the Radio didn't completely match? you are the man! HTC_Y13

it does start the installation, but then it fails. I've read in the readme (doh) and found, even though I checked versions before downloading, that it isn't the right one for my device... How can I determine which one is right for my device?

If it said APX than you have hardware issues
Go to varranty.
If your model from '12 may. you have HTC varranty for this problem. Just make sure you have the void sticker

What are you guys up to ??? Sorry to say but....this thread is a real mess !
Do this all step by step :
Flash this recovery and touch will work :
http://db.tt/t6RTcTwK
Then flash the boot.img from the 3.20 nandroid backup !
Then enter the recovery and do this :
Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Advanced - wipe dalvik cache
Mounts&storage - format cache,data,system
Then restore the nandroid backup via the backup menu and reboot ! If the nandroid doesn't work, download a new one. You can use any 3.20.401 backup (wwe cid is not important)
The nandroid backup folder must look similar to this :
Clockworkmod\backup\date&time folder\backup files
You can't run a ruu because it does not exist for 3.20.401. A 3.14 ruu doesn't work because we don't have S-off (no downgrade of the hboot possible)
Installing a 2.17 nandroid or rom won't work either because the official 3.20 base has updated touchpanel drivers !
Hope this helps.

I'm trying to install the new update but I get the icon in the second attachment halfway through the process. Before trying to install the OTA, I reverted to the HTC stock recovery from ClockworkMod Recovery. Could it be because I did something wrong during that?

You need stock recovery and stock rom for your main version 3.14.720.24 to install the update, not only stock recovery. Install nand backup for your main version and stock recovery.

Yes but the root is a problem. Download nand backup. install CWM recovery, flash the nand backup, flash boot.img, flash stock recovery. You must to be full stock to receive the OTA.
Yea that did it. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction.

[Q] Bricked my One X?

Hi im really new to this but decided to try unrooting and flashing Cyanogenmod on my old HTC ONE X
Followed an old step by step guide but must have missed something.
It´s unlocked but not S-off. I have TWRP installed, have tried CWM also, but i´m unable to acces the phone. I have win 8 and have followed instructions for fixing the drivers but i cant install cyanogenmod no matter what i try.
Unfortunately i was too stupid to back-up so now i´m stuck.
I´ve tried flashing new boot.img and installing via ADM today but now i cant even mount the sd-card so its visible from the computer. That has worked before.
Someone who can help me?
When i´m in recovery it says

Search forum for windows 8 drivers, install philz recovery or slim twrp works well. Flash boot image via fatboot commands then full wipe all but SD card and install ROM.

You cant flash an ota with a custom recovery. You have to flash stock recovery to begin with.
You cannot flash an ota unless you already are on the right full stock rom that matches the ota.
I dunno where to get stock recovery. If you can find an ruu can unpack it. But im sorry to say I cant remember how to do this.
This is the only source that is still up with plenty of ruu's: http://www.gsm-file.com/files/endeavoru-631
Perhaps you can find the right ruu for you device. If you do you don't have to bother with the ota. Just flash the whole ruu.
If you find the right ruu but its an older one. You can flash this then use the ota you tried to flash above.
