Hi, my screen broke and I purchased a digitizer and a screen off ebay seperately. Both seem to be working properly, however when I put the digitizer on the screen and plug both (without reassembling the entire device) the digitizer goes ape**** and starts randomly registering touches. Why is that and how do I fix that?

Hello,
I disassemble my Desire to replace the cover of it. The AMOLED display and the touch screen worked with no problems. I disassemble every part but had some problems by removing the touch screen so it was broken in one corner. I ignored it, replaced the cover, put all back together and attached connectors for display, keyboard and touchscreen. After that I start the phone but now I get only a black screen. I see nothing on the display but my phone starts because I feel the vibration and the lights of the buttons are glowing.
So, is there any option to fix that or is it now completly broken? I'm really sad because it worked with no problems a few hours ago and because of this cover replacement I have no video screen now.
On Ebay I can get a new AMOLED Display for 40$ (30-40€). Should I try this or is maybe the main PCB broken? The broken glass of the touch screen can not cause this problem, wouldn't it?

Hello XDA,
I dropped my phone a while ago and the outer screen got cracked, nothing happened to the screen it self, so i kept using my phone for a month or so before i found a place to replace the outer frame only, the screen used to work perfectly, after i changed the frame, i had touch problems, so i decided to change the whole screen, after changing the screen i had a dead strip, the touch is not responding in that area, here is a screen shot, Could it be a problem with the new screen/digitizer or connection problem? Please direct me.
My S3 has been working fine for months sort of. I bought it off of ebay with a huge crack in the glass, then my brother dropped it and all the glass fell out. To use the phone we has to touch the bare LCD of the phone, which after a while we just but a screen cover over it. I waited 2 months, bought a new glass replacement and put it on, everything worked just fine. After a little the home button when pressed to the left a little would make the screen go crazy. it would start tapping and swiping in random places. After locking and waking the screen the phone was normal again. after that, i removed the glass again, and this time when putting it back on if i pushed the home button it pushed the glass down a little, which would turn my screen black. locking the phone and waking the screen again turned the screen back on. Also the screen was a lot less sensitive, i'd have to tap a key 2-5 times sometimes to hit a specific letter. whenever that happened i put 3 dsi's to weigh it down and push the screen down, which would improve the sensitivity. that worked twice, and now my screen doesn't respond to touch at all. the screen will wake, but only when i press on the bottom right corner of the screen will it respond to touch. Any word on what could be the problem? i need to know what to buy to replace in the phone. I've already taken the whole phone apart and plugged everything back in, after i had tried everything to get my phone to respond. Could this be a digitizer problem, or an LCD problem? any possible fixes without having to replace anything?
The first issue was using the device without the glass installed. By touching the bare LCD you most likely damaged it. Your best bet at this point is probably going to be to replace the Touch assembly ( Glass / LCD Touch digitizer ) . Also keep in mind, when doing any sort of Screen replacement. Be sure to keep everything as clean, and dust free as possible.
Hi,
My screen has stopped working (touch digitizer, the LCD functions perfectly).
A few weeks ago the phone is bent and the LCD screen broke, I bought a new (Touch + LCD) and fixed it myself to save me money.
Well, the phone worked fine and I left it charging, when I returned the touch did not work. I found that by removing the back cover was again operational, but by putting the back cover back failed again.
I dismounted and checked everything again and it has already stopped working completely
I want to know because it could have happened.
1) Removing the Battery "the battery case” was a little cracked and the touch digitizer FLEX has a “tab” that is glued goes between the battery and the chassis. I don’t understand which his function is and if this is the problem because the back cover carries more pressure than usual (assembly of mobile phone now is not perfect)
2) I paste the screen with double-sided adhesive, but at the bottom was a little loose, so I put 2 small drops of superglue to secure it well. Has this been the glue damage the digitizer?
I leave you some pictures of the battery and the “tab FLEX”

Greetings, sorry for my english and thanks from now.
Our tablet stopped responding to touch, so I replaced the screen and digitizer (as I have before when the screen cracked). Unfortunately, this did not fix the issue. It boots up just fine, but screen does not respond to touch. What is the next thing I should check?
