How do I get my base version?
Update your recovery to a newer version.
I'm on the latest TWRP.

You are on 3.28.xxx.x You can tell by your hboot number. What are you trying to achieve?
I don't see a 3.28 in any of those numbers, care to explain? I just wanted to know for when lollipop is released.
I had that as well until I flashed the latest 4.16.401.9 firmware. Can't explain why though. Now ADB shows it correctly.
The previous twrp versions had the "bug" that it made that software version disappear. Reflashing a compatible firmware and the latest most updated twrp versions solves it.

Just solved one problem with the drivers, now the fastboot prompt tell me, the signature checking failed..

I have locked my bootloader and tried to flash a "signed" fw.. tried it from 2 sources. Also tried to flash a recovery. Nothing worked..
Edit: As an act of last hope I "reopened" my bootloader. That way I was able to get into twrp and flash a ROM after a wipe. Now I can use at least my Smartphone again. But of course it would be great to know what I did wrong..
GetVar All gave me this:

What do I do now? I've tried re-installing the original RUU as suggested by HTC but install fails
EDIT:
Problem solved. I downgraded the RUU and used the AAHK2 kit to unlock the bootloader instead of the HTC method.

there is a slightly older RUU version 4.19.161.2
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=29631
it may and may not work ( some people said it will pass as it's not considered a downgrade )
however if it didn't work then you will have to restore the proper nandroid backup and flash stock recovery ( and optionally accept the OTA up to marshmallow ) from this thread
