I followed greentu's guide and once flashing the sense stock rom from android revolution my M8 just gets stuck on the boot logo (HTC Powered By Android).
Also: following his guide, these steps don't work:
Once complete, type fastboot reboot-bootloader The hyphen is required.
Boot into stock recovery
Factory reset
Reboot into bootloader
When I boot into stock recovery, there is no option to factory reset. It just shows a small logo in the middle of the screen.
Instead of doing this step I proceeded to install TWRP which worked fine and did a factory reset from there and installed my rom.
Boots and get stuck at HTC logo.

Yeah because you skipped factory reset with stock recovery. When that image comes up you have to hold volume up and press power to see the recovery options.

Hold volume up. Press and release power. Options will come up. You can even do it before the picture comes up. I've done it thousands of times, there's no magic to it.

I did the factory reset this time in stock recovery and then in TWRP and flashed a rom and it still gets stuck at the HTC logo!
I followed all the instructions too!
It says to have ROM on SD Card if your SuperCID 111111. I sideloaded (although sucessful).
I'm going to go nuts! I cant get this working!
I would restart from the beginning and do it all over. missing or messing up one step can throw the whole thing off.

I did four times! Same results!
Can my super cid to 111111111 be the issue?
What rom should I sideload instead (maybe rom issue)

Don't sideload any rom. Not sure why you're sideloading.
I have been superCID since day 1, never had issues.
Rom could be the issue. Make sure MD5 matches.

If your phone will not boot and with no backup then you could try re-flashing your ROM from recovery, wipe the cache and dalvik then re-flash your ROM,if that works then reboot into recovery and do a backup, that way if you break things again then you can restore the phone to a working state.

Yeah But This Is The Problem When You go into bootloader select recovery same thing happens freezes, go into factory reset same thing happens
Sorry what do you mean by freezes?Talk me through it,From bootloader you scroll down and select recovery, then you go to factory reset, what happens?
The bootloader/recovery is independent of the ROM so if you broke your ROM by trying to install the ICS Launcher it can't affect bootloader/recovery,how did you try and install the launcher,be specific please.

If you go into fastboot mode then choose recovery to get to the screen with the red triangle, keep pressing the power button and volume buttons randomly until the stock recovery pops up. From there do a factory reset and it'll work, I just did it to mine!
I flashed the CWM recovery img so when I do what you say it takes me to the bootloader screen and says Downloading. No red triangle. It boots into CWM and then after 20 seconds restarts itself and hits the bootanimation loop. Any clue what to do next? Trying to flash the stock image but having issues using cmds in windows cmd
*edit
I cleared cache through cmd and i got to the red triangle...thank ****ing the lord. DTWAZERE, I will remember tonight. Thank you for your help.

Thing is it will delete the CWM recovery when you leave it so you'll have to reflash it, which is why this is so unstable!
I had the exact same thing as you and this is what I did:
Press the power button to turn it off while it says downloading
Hold both volume buttons down and power on to get into fastboot
Choose recovery
Press power and volume buttons randomly when the red triangle appears until you get stock recovery
Choose Factory Reset
Reboot
You should be able to get back into the rom that way,
to root it you need to boot into fastboot again, reflash the recovery, and sideload the superuser apk

Yeah this is exactly what I did and it worked. I'll wait on flashing anything until there's a stable recovery. I was fairly confident in what I was doing until that happened. Not being able to input commands from cmd prompt made me sick so I'll wait for a dev to release something that works without having to quickly install the drivers again within a 15-20 second timeframe. Too much stress.

If you are stuck on the boot animation (X) screen... power off your device and enter fastboot mode and then type fastboot -w... I has this problem and this fixed it!

THIS WORKED!!
Youre a genius. thanks!
When I try to install the manta drivers manually and tell it to search the same area that it searched and found the android bootloader drivers for fastboot mode it says that the drivers couldn't be found and installed. Am I missing something? Also if i try to do fastboot flash recovery it gives me an error message stating that it cannot determine the image filename for the recovery image.
Well i guess i did it the long way around.
Went to https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mantarayjop40c
and downloaded the Nexus 10 file. extracted, and the actual files in the Nexus10Root folder.
Opened the flash-all.sh and entered each command manually because it was erroring out running the script.
After the 3rd command it booted right into android!
i made a big mistake when flashing rom, i don have boot.img, i flash paranoid rom and then reboot, at first startup it stucks at the screen. but after i long press power+volume - button, it then boot into fastboot, i then use the volume button to navigate to recovery. since i do not have previous rom backup, i just do system, dalvik and cache and wipe section. and then reboot again. now it stucked at htc quietly brilliant but bottom with red letter "this build is for development purposes only". i try long press power+volume but not responsive. i am not too sure it just stuck there or because my power button got a bit problem, sometimes need to press few times to unlock screen.
i tam so dumb, i just dunno how to deal with this.
so in this case, can i bring my phone to htc service station? is my warranty void during unlock bootloader?

I understand, it almost happened to me once. Dude, you'll have to do whatever you can and somehow or the other get in fastboot mode.
Try pressing the power button hard enough...
When you do that, go to recovery, mount your sd card, transfer a Rom to your device, of needed from recovery you.can reboot to fastboot and flash the appropriate kernel.

i think i messed up everything previously. what i knew i did correctly is unlock bootloader. now rooting part start screwing.
is it i need to root then flash kernel then flash custom rom?
Root doesn't matter because everything is done from fastboot and recovery.
From what was said above flash your kernel in fasboot USB then right after go to recovery from your hboot. Factory reset wipe (wipes everything besides sd card or will say fail because it didn't wipe sd that's good)
Then click install and chose the zip and then flash your gapps zip

Has anyone successfully installed TWRP 2.6.3.3 (http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7) on your HTC One? I have tried all three methods on installing it and I can't seem to get it to stick on my phone.
Method one: Goo.im app
From the menu, selecting Install OpenRecoveryScript and selecting Yes results in No recoveries were found for your device.
Method two: ADB / Terminal
Opened up an ADB shell and used dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p34 which successfully installed it. Rebooting to recovery goes to the HTC screen that says Entering recovery and then reboots the device for a normal startup.
Method three: Fastboot
Booting into the bootloader and selecting the fastboot option in order to run fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img successfully installed. Rebooting to recovery goes to the HTC screen that says Entering recovery and then reboots the device for a normal startup.
Holding volume down + power and selecting Recovery from the bootloader also reboots to the HTC screen that says Entering recovery and then reboots the device for a normal startup.
No idea how to get this installation to stick. Can anyone help out?

Can't Flash TWRP after installing MaximusHD
So I am a noob at this stuff and successfully flashed TWRP 2.6.3.3. I installed the MaxHD ROM shortly after following all instructions that I could find. I ran into bootloop and had to revert to an old firmware then flashed the current firmware and viola MaxHD booted right up. However, now I can not flash TWRP back as my recovery. Everytime I flash it and go into recovery it goes into MaxHD ROM. If anyone has any ideas they are much appreciated.
Also, I have read for over three weeks on these boards before posting even my first post so I have tried to research the problem if anyone was wondering that.

Is MaxHD a Verizon rom? That could be an issue if it's not. Also, the latest TWRP is 2.7.0.8. Haven't had any issues with it. Are you flashing it with fastboot commands? You might try the app Flashify.

Good call...it is not for the Verizon HTC One. Thanks much.
It doesn't say it's not in the write up about the ROM...I had to dig into the replies to see if anyone else asked.
I was trying to convert my 5.0.1 GPE (already converted a couple months ago) back to Sense using the MaximusHD ROM and following the Youtube guide below.
All went well until I flashed firmware 1.54.401.5, found in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523). Now, the phone only reboots to the red exclamation mark every few minutes and the only thing I can do is Volume up + Power into the stock Android recovery. I'm not sure if it's possible to even power off since it only reboots to the red exclamation. ADB also does not detect the device in stock recovery, although the "device connected" tone plays through my PC speakers
Is there any solution to this? Any help would be appreciated.

Red eclamation mark is stock recovery, volume up and power to access the menu, so its normal, complete the rest of returning to stock, just follow that guide, not the youtube video.
After firmware flash
Boot into stock recovery
Factory reset
Reboot into bootloader
Flash TWRP recovery - command = fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.2-m8.img (The must match exactly the name of the recovery you are flashing and remember the recovery file must be in your android folder)
Boot into TWRP
Go into Wipe menu
do a full factory reset wipe
Reboot back into recovery
Install rom
Profit

just hold volume down + volume up + power until the phone goes off, takes about 15 to 20 seconds to go off, then quickly release all 3 buttons and hold volume down only until in the phone boots to the bootloader.

Ok, I flashed the latest TWRP file (twrp-2.8.6.0-m8.img) in Fastboot but when I try to boot into TWRP, it stalls on the "Entering Recovery" screen. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

Same problem . I can, however, browse my internal storage and micro sd card on my PC in the stalled "Entering Recovery" screen. I can try to flash a stock recovery and then re-try flashing TWRP?
Or are there any alternative methods I can use to get a working OS installed?

Strange, try another version of twrp, like the one recommended 2.7.?.?
Thanks man, v2.7.0.2 worked Doing a full factory reset now and will keep you updated.
Ok, update: After a lengthy 1st reboot after the install, I'm finally running the ROM . However, the WiFi doesn't seem to work as well as the camera.
Any solutions to this?

First of all, looks like the newer twrp didn't work due to the old first edition firmware and I would say if you have flashed a lollipop rom, it's the same problem, the old 1xxxxx firmware, as your s-off, just update your firmware, I'd recommend flashing a 2xxxx package first, then a 3xxxxx then 4xxxxxx you will then have to flash the latest version of twrp as you'll have stock recovery back on your phone.
Firmware is here -

I ended up installing a stock rooted Lollipop 5.1 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706441) instead of MaximusHD. Camera is now functional and everything appears to run fine EXCEPT for the WiFi which simply won't turn on to scan available networks. Might update the firmware to 4xxxxxxx a bit later, but wouldn't that wipe the OS again?

If you ran a stock ruu then your firmware should of gone to the latest, just noticed you ran a gpe ruu, I thought you were trying to get back to sense ?

I converted to GPE RUU w/ OTA updates from stock Sense back in January of this year. Only yesterday I've decided to convert back to Sense using a ROM based on it (MaximusHD in this case) and ran into these problems. I then installed a 5.1 ROM instead (not 5.1 RUU) from graffix's thread last night when I installed the TWRP 2.7.
So correct me if I'm wrong, the method is (in bootloader):
fastboot oem rebootRUU

then
fastboot flash zip 4.16.401.10.zip

Correct?

Yes that's correct, but don't forget to run the flash command twice as the first time will fail, however, that is a sense firmware not a gpe firmware.
You were doing alright with your convert back to sense and just needed to flash the latest firmware to bring your phone up to speed.

I understand, but if I want to use a 5.1 GPE ROM (like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706441); is it ok to use the 4.16.401.10 firmware or would I need another GPE specific firmware?

Is there any link to the GPE firmware? There's so many files when I do a search that I don't know which specific one is needed.
EDIT 1: 4.16.401.10 seemed to work fine and I also managed to update to the latest TWRP recovery.
EDIT 2: The OS took quite some time to reboot after the first install but I'm inside 5.1 now and WiFi seems to work
