Hi, as this is my first sony phone so I am not familiar with sony.. So I have a question in my mind.. If I ask for bootloader unlock code from sony by filling up imei in the official sony website, will they void my warranty? Or they will only check if I have really unlocked it or not?!

Please note that you may void the warranty of your device and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the boot loader.

'Signing' up for bootloader unlock code does not mean that you really will/want/have (to) unlock(ed) the bootloader.

Legally it will depend on your countrys laws if they can void your warranty on those grounds or not. But generally, the service center will check if the phone has been unlocked or not, and base your warranty status on that. I had some issues recently with my Z1C, it wasn't waterproof and I had installed CyanogenMod. It wasn't bootable when I sent it, but when it arrived it booted into CyanogenMod and they almost denied me service on those grounds so I called them up and asked them to test the waterproofness which they did and I am now waiting on a new phone.

U really want to overclock your ion but you dont want to unlock
probably becoz u want to keep bravia engine working or wanna keep warranty
If u want bravia engine, u can flash X-reality after unlocking
If u worry about the warranty, then I cant help u
Still, u can relock the bootloader after unlocking

Hey guys.
My friend just bought the Xperia E(single).
The BL is locked.
But she want's to run CM, or any AOSP rom.
I don't find a perfect answer for me.
I find, we can root E with locked bl, but can't flash recovery, so can't flash rom.
Am I right?
So no chance to have AOSP rom on E with locked BL ?

Yes they are, but Sony got online unlocking service if you want to unlock your bootloader. At least that was the case with my Xperia Arc S.

Oh sh!t sorry
Too much device at my hand now.. so much topic.
Thread closed - OP request.
Hello. My Xperia Z1 Compact has Bootloader Unlock allowed: No. However, if I try to fastboot (volume up while connecting to PC), the device’s LED light turns into Blue.
I read somewhere that this means I actually CAN unlock the bootloader. Is it safe to try?
Thank you!

You can't unlock if says "no", you will hard brick your phone if you flash a custom kernel or a Custom ROM for unlocked bootloader
Enviado desde mi Z1 Compact
Hello, Meloferz! Thanks for replying! Well, I don't want to flash any custom kernel, I only want to get Sony's firmware updates, because my phone has an audio Bug, which has been fixed by Sony since March. My carrier told me they would not release any software update for this model, so I would like to let the phone update...
thanks in advance!!

I'm sure you don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash stock firmware
Thank you, spudata!
Could you please tell me what I need to do that?

One last question... Is it enough to get the same language firmware (spanish)? Or does it need to be one for my specific country/carrier (Perú/Movistar)? Because, I've got their latest fw installed, but that's not the one that fixes my audio bug.

Enable developer settings, then enable OEM UNLOCK. This will unlock the bootloader.
Then you can flash everything with odin3
Can I relock boatloader
I am waiting for bootloader unlock procedure for this device. So that i can try out treble images.

I am disappointed with the vivo product because it can not unlockbootloader
I have also bought this phone (Vivo V9). Is it true that the bootloader cannot be unlocked? How come?

i think it's for their business, bbk (mother company of oppo, vivo, and oneplus) only release kernel source code for oneplus
oppo and vivo for average user without tweaking oriented
oneplus for high performance phones and android geeks
That means i can't install lineage os 15.1 or 16
On my vivo v9????
We just wait for hacker user to unlock bootloader
This so dumb. It sucks. Still waiting how to unlock bootloader and root the phone
Anyone please try this and reply.. Thanks
