hi, guys. I'm using the Nokia X, and like most people, I have only one SIM card in using. So it's the problem, on the top bar there always are two SIM card icons even I never use the second one! It's so ugly I have to say, especially when I am a little neat freaky and meet with the terrible designing. So I'm gonna ask you guys have any method to remove the second SIM icon? Many thanks~~~

You could attach it in the comments or PM it to me.
No offence. But don't try the Xposed method. It's a bit complicated my friend.

This is highly appreciated. But I cannot decompile this unless you give me the framework-res.apk located in /system/framework. Please give this too.

Thanks. Man. I have not root my device so I'm wondering if I can replace this file. Also can you let me know which file/part in this apk was modified by you and how to modify. I'm also interested to learn that. Thanks.

You need root for this as well as Root Explorer app.
This is what I did. I'm not good at coding. So what I simply did is decompiled SystemUI.apk using framework-res.apk and replace all sim 2 icons with similar size transparent icons. That way, instead of those icons, you will see nothing now.

Is this the first version? No last v.1.5.
Can you do this with the Samsung Focus?
If anyone can get the HTC HUB Live Title to not show the apps to the left I would use it for weather in a heartbeat. It's the only thing that has me from using it.
My transparencies and my colors:
^ Nice!
Wish this was on my Focus
i believe i read yesterday that microsoft may be open to allowing 3rd party customization such as spb shell and what not. if they do this i may get a wp7 device. the current square tiles are boring IMO.
thanks....

Has anyone managed to do this? I'm also very interested in removing the Apps on the left. I'm not too fussed about it saying HTC but the apps ruin the look.

[RELEASE] HTC Hub for everyone!
I've just bought WidgetLocker Lockscreen and using SMS Unread Count to display any missed calls/sms/emails.
The one thing that annoys me about my nice new lockscreen is pressing on the SMS Unread Count widget has an orange highlight before it opens the application.
Is there any way to remove the annoying orange highlight? It seems to be standard for all widgets to be highlighted in some way when pressed.
Been digging through my framework-res.apk and tried editing focused_application_background_static.png to another colour or transparent but this doesn't seem to be the correct image file.
If anyone knows how I can do this could you please point me in the right direction?
So I was looking in the wrong apk file. I guess this is what happens when you're attempting mods when you should be sleeping.
All it took was a simple edit of some .9.png files in the correct apk and now everything is nicely colour coordinated again.
Can someone explain to me how to do this in detail?
Anyone ?
Been a few months, but I still can't find which files to edit. Anyone know?
can we get this on ICS ROMS mms.apk the unread counter i miss it much
bump...

LOL I haven't solved it yet. The OP has solved it and I wanted to know what he did. He never responded though, even in PMs. I guess no one's been opening this thread because it says SOLVED in the thread title.

Oh oops I guess I wasn't really paying attention when reading... Anyway, you just need to decompile the widget/app apk and replace the image file that gives the orange glow with a transparent one. You can sort of tell which one it is by looking at the file names.

Yup, I found the apk I need. It's com.kanokgems.smswidget-1.apk. I replaced a couple of images using WinRar, then used Root Explorer and copied it over to it's original location. Then restarted my phone, but it didn't work. The app wouldn't run properly...
You need to decompile it with APKtool or Auto APK Manager, and recompile it that way. Not always necessary, but that's the best way. And the most important part is to re/sign the apk file after you've recompiled it.
(Try installing it; if it tells you "Application not installed" you probably haven't signed it properly, and if you do sign it correctly it should work, otherwise uninstall the app and install your modded one).
Just delete badgeprovider.apk

Can anyone teach me what I need to edit to change the home screen grid size to fit more apps on the screen? Even if anyone knows of a good thread that discusses how to make these sort of system edits, I'm very interested in learning. I'd like to better understand some of these edits & tweaks so that I can modify the stock ROM to my own liking. Thank you in advance to anyone who may be of assistance!

Hi
This is my first post and I hope that I have posted to the write forum!
I have a rooted Note II phone and I pulled the Candy crush APK down to my PC.
I have decompiled the APK and compiled the APK and signed the APK. I have copied the new APK down to the phone, installs OK but runs it stays on the Home Page and crashes.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong, I have not change anything just decompiling and compiling /signing and testing.
This is what I have done so far:
1. APKTOOL d Candy.apk
2. APKTOOL b Candy Candy2.apk
3. java -jar SignApk.jar testkey.x509.pem testkey.pk8 Candy2.apk Clash2Signed.apk
4. Copied to phone, installed OK but stays on the home page.
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks
Paul
if it is an app with online functions, may be failing a signature check since the original developers signature is replaced.
What are you trying to do? Hack it for 1000 lives, 200 moves, no tickets and slow timer?

Yes thank you.
I think I have found the problem but still seeking a solution, looking at the log file I am seeing the following error:
E/FictionFactory( 9936): Trying to seek in a file which probably is compressed! This is not possible. Either remove the seeking or add the file to the list of extensions which should not be compressed.
Any ideas?

Look at the original apk and your new one, and make sure anything that isn't compressed in the original is not compressed in the new one as well. I've seen issues like this come up w/ .ogg files in the /res/raw/ directory, but it could exist anywhere really.

Thank you finally got it to work!!!
The issue was pretty straight forward, all the tutorials that I have seen have always steered me decompile, compile and sign which has not worked for me so far.
The way I got around this was to add my changes to the original APK file, resign it and hey it worked.
