Won't boot...settings got changed!!
HELP!! Sony xperia M 4.3 android won't boot up...?
Go easy one me cause I'm a first timer...
Not rooted...
Earlier today I was messing with my phone went: SETTINGS-SECURITY-APP OPS went across to DEVICE pane and changed all the options in the part for ANDROID SYSTEM from Allow to Ask Every Time...after that the phone just stopped working and froze. I took out the battery and put it back in thinking everything would be alright...however when I turned it back on the phone only got to the network welcome screen and stopped...I think what I did was the problem...what can I do to rectify the problem....HELP! Nothing works!
Bro if it isn't rooted than connect your xperia to your pc through pc companion software and repair it,and it will be good as new.
Hit thanks

Today I received a message that there's new software for arc S. I've connected the phone to the PC and start updating. Everything was normal and the update was almost finished when a massage appeared on the PC that says that there was some error and it suggested to retry. I tried again following the instructions, but the massage appeared again. Then I hit the cancel button and when I tried to power on the phone I only see Sony Ericsson's logo and then a triangle with an exclamation mark and a phone near the triangle. Can you please tell me what to do to fix it?
If it is bootloader unlocked then fastboot a Kernel (DooM) then flash a Rom
Or if bootloader is locked then flash a stock rom FTF file with flashtool (.62 recommended)
Make sure that wipe userdata isn't ticked in flashtool though if you want to keep your data

If you dont know what to do anymore try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358

I tried a lot of things and nothing helped. Then I decided to left the phone without battery for a couple of hours, this morning I tried SE Update Service and I managed to run factory reset. Now my phone is alive again...well all my contacts were deleted, but what ever...

Have you tried wotanserver.com
Otherwise, my guess is it might be a hardware issue, not a software one (because flashtool/update service/wotan server return your phone to stock. meaning if something was f*ed up, it should be fixed...)
Just use the Sues tool (aka. sony's flashing tool) and have it flash the latest update. If that doesn't work just tell your carrier that it did this after you installed and OTA update and maybe they'll give you a new one.
Yes!
Last Evening I tried the SE update service . right away it didnt work , so i posted , that my phone is still bricked. Today at school about 12 hours after i used the SE update service and the phone was "dead" it FINALLY booted to the os! Yay! im no longer bricked!
Thanks For the help! I appreciate it!
Not Again!
So........ the issue has continiued , after two weeks of perfect performance.
well....i guess the screen is to blame here , because when i touch it in places , that i know a button exists i can feel the vibration!
Ive been playing paintball and running around with the phone in my pocket , so i guess ill have to start saving money for a screen repair
So root wasn't here to blame.
I updated my phone (Xperia PLAY) from Android 2.3.3 to Android 2.3.4, 4.0.2.A.0.42 on my phone, when there was notification for updates. It downloaded updates and turn the screen on with some kind of package. It loaded in little time. And when I tried turn on phone there is only vibration and green flash on power button. What can I do? Plz help me, I have lost the warrant and I dont know is there any guarantee for my phone!
P.S: I've tried that repair thing in PC Companion and it says The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated.
Locked bootloader.

Have you tried flashing another firmware using FlashTool?
Yes.
Somehow ,after 10 minutes of charging the phone turned on
Everything works now ,but all my data has been deleted :\ I managed to do a backup 1 week ago ,I really have lucky!
sorry for my English
Just to say that this is my first post on the ENTIRE FORUMS . Hopefully I'll get to meet some of the devs on here as well as the normal community users .
Previously, I had a Xperia Neo port of ICS on my Xperia Play- it worked perfectly fine but was pretty laggy, so I decided to downgrade to the original Gingerbread OS.
The downgrade (via Flashtool) worked perfectly and the problems only started after an OTA (Over The Air) update arrived. I clicked 'Update', it went through the normal shutdown and install stages but never booted back up. After this, I could only get into flashmode and not fastboot mode so I could not simply reflash the boot.img to make it boot again. I went back into Flashtool and reflashed the firmware that I used to downgrade with, and it didn't work and the phone stayed off.
I did some research on this and apparently the OTA update stops the phone from booting if it's rooted, it linked to a patch (.ftf firmware) that said it will solve the problem but will relock the bootloader (and unroot it, replacing the DRM files so it will boot). After this, the phone does not vibrate when the power button is pressed, it just flashes the LED red three times. I've tried flashing different firmwares and now the flashmode cuts out (usually in the middle of flashing system.sin- don't know if this might be the result of a corrupted partition) AND to top that I can only get it to flashmode if I keep the battery out for a little while between flashes, it never goes to flashmode by unplugging the USB and plugging it back in again.
What I want to ask is, because the bootloader is locked again, Sony can't detect that it's been rooted once before, right? Also, because of the suspected corrupted partition, Sony can't access any logs and should just replace the phone under warranty (it's a year old next month), right?
Sorry for the n00bz questions, I just don't want to send it to Sony (It's already been booked in for a repair) and they reply that the warranty isn't valid because they somehow found out that it's been rooted once before- it costs £10 for them to send it back:victory:!
UPDATE:
If I leave the phone plugged in, it sometimes tries to boot (Sony Ericsson logo comes onto the screen) but a phone and an exclamation mark comes on the screen. After five seconds or so, the phone reboots.
Sounds like your battery is dead

Yeah... could be. It was on something like 20% when I flashed it back to Gingerbread yesterday and it wasn't on charge during the update so it might have lost charge which in turn failed the update.
Will report back when I've charged it up a bit (half an hour should get it to around 30%).

It now stays on the flashmode which is a good sign- thanks for the battery tip !
However, it's still not booting and it's not going to the screen with the phone and exclamation mark since I tried to flash with the R800x firmware. I'm giving myself until around 11:00AM tomorrow otherwise I'm putting the normal default firmware on it and sending it in for repair.
Reflash a ftf file or update using seus if you got a locked bootloader (I suppose you don't have already), that works for me when I got exclamation mark too.
try re-lock youre bootloader alreasy?
i attach the ftf file, after that repair youre phone using pc companion.
i hope it helps you boot again
EDIT:
Please refer to this tutorial where i got it
[Tutorial] Relock bootloader!
Thanks all for helping- it seemed to be a battery issue here where I think something made the battery drain really quickly.
I didn't make anything better when the battery cut out when it was flashing half way- I think this might of been the reason for the phone with the exclamation mark.
I let it charge for a bit and was really surprised when I saw 'Sony Ericsson' on the screen and even more so when the boot animation came up!
It's now been reflashed with Doomkernel and GTA finally works great on it at 1.4GHZ .
Thanks to you all for your suggestions- really appreciated .

its not good
i recommend to ask for replacement if it has warranty
If not Download PC Companion app connect ur phone and click to check for update if there is no update then select repair firmware option
after this if problem remains u should take to service cause it can be hardware issue
:good:
My phone also keeps restarting can't get into recovery. . .
