Hi everyone, I'm never in this section of the forum since I own a SGH-I337M and I'm in the ATT/CAN forum most of the time. A friend of mine is looking to install a custom recovery and rom on his SGH-M919V (Videotron) and I'm not sure where to start, so I'm looking into this for him.
Since I have no background on this particular device and, being a "Canadian" version of the T-Mobile phone, what is the difference between the SGH-M919V and the SHG-M919? Which ROM is compatible, which recovery?
I'm not sure how to root/install a recovery and which ROM to look for his device. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the phone rooted? Looks like chainfire's autoroot works. Then flash cwm for the m919.

People have successfully flashed Wicked on the m919v. I'm sure most of the m919 ROMs work however. Just keep the Canadian modem.

What themes are okay for my phone?
Most the ones I see need root I think...

You need root to use themes..about as close as you can get is to use next launcher and use a theme for that launcher..otherwise root your phone. You'll be happy you did.

How so? It automatically installs a recovery and cm11.he is already rooted. Cm11 doesn't come not rooted.

It must have rooted it automatically since I did nothing myself to root it. I checked with with a root checker and it popped up with superuser prompt then confirmed in do in fact have root access. Weird! What are the best themes (ie most stable)... Are there any disadvantages of switching themes?

U can't flash the new bootloader since we don't have any for our phones only for the international version..... bootloader is flashed thru which will also install new modems which are not compatible with the tmobile variant...... You will have to wait till tmobile releases this which god knows when that will happen lol

Hey guys, im running wicked v10, but I had this same issue on insanity 4.3, my Audio works fine through the headphones (i dont have bluetooth to test, though). But when I try to play any audio that isn't a notification through the speakers it doesn't work. I try the youtube app, Google play music, Chrome, nothing works. I'm running v4a with the Super high quality driver. Any ideas that don't involve wiping data?

Okay, I'm on wicked v10 and I can't flash either of the files. Will they not flash via mobile Odin? If keeps saying I'm memory protection in place and I triangle away might help . But I've tried triangle away and it doesn't change anything.
Yeah, you've got to use Odin on your computer.
