Hi everyone,
I took a video of my dog and want to send it to my nephews. Each time I try to send the video as an attachment in an email it says failed and file too large. I know I must be missing something easy, but how do you share video captured on your phone when you do not partake in any social networking such as Facebook or twitter. Thanks

I believe if you use the gmail app it shouldn't restrict file sizes. Another option is to sign up for dropbox and share the uploaded link from the app

Thanks. I wonder if box.net would work? I want my wife to be able to save the video to her ion from my phone as well. Thanks

oh yes box.net would work! although the basic free account only allows 25mb MAX upload but I believe they upped the restriction to 50mb since the 50gb promotion...

You could always do a bluetooth transfer if you're close to the other person's phone. I share videos, photos, music, ect. with my wife that way
Thanks for all the suggestions. So far though the only one that would work is the blue tooth transfer but I still couldn't send it to my nephews as the file is 150mb. Still trying to find a work around for this, didn't realize that vox had an upload cap. Kinda pointless to have it then. Thanks

theres always dropbox http://db.tt/PnTUwow
I use dropbox to save my my video projects (3 gigabytes) when viewing usb/dvd/youtube fails me during video presentations
They don't have upload caps so you can easily upload you video over to your nephew no problem.
Do you have to pay for drop box? Also would the user be able to save the video from the link you send them. Let's say I want to send the video to my nephew and he wants to save it to his phone? Thanks

they offer 2gb for free and you're able to earn more by referrals and uploading pictures from your phone to their cloud.
500mb per referral up to 18gb
?? with picture upload via phone but I earned 3gb with that feature already...
also they give you up to 800mb for the initial setup (validating email, setting up profile).
I've seen ppl that earned up to 30gb+ for free, there was a "hack" where you could have gotten 100gb but dropbox closed the loophole and reset their accounts.
What about the end user being able to save the file. That is the most important feature I want. Thanks

It's probably easier to setup a YouTube channel. I wonder why a 2 minute video is 150mb on this phone, that's huge!

its alot similar to box.net
preferably I like dropbox I find it easier to navigate and their desktop app is more user friendly
with box.net I'll be using it to just store files
heres a link to some pictures I took, this is what the end user would be seeing (your nephew) its pretty simple to download. I did have a few videos but the language may not be your cup of tea and its been long since deleted from the 'cloud' but same concept.
Thanks so you can click on picture and save. That's great

Going from iOS to android is an amazing chsnge. Everything is better. Especially the Google apps. Unfortunately there's one problem with the YouTube app. Where's the deticated subscription only videos tab. Only a channel feed which is just filled with videos my subscriptions liked commented etc. Am I missing something or what but I can't find the subscription only view mode.
Youtube app version: latest 4.0.23

I've notice Netflix, Hulu and HBO go all seem to play blurry on the GS4.
My iPhone and iPad play those videos perfect.
Anyway to fix it or just have to wait till the update those apps.
I'm assuming most apps will need to be updated to better support 1080p screens.

It looks nice, but no where near the video quality of my iphone 5.
Hope they update those apps soon. Youtube on the other hand looks great.
Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of the unofficial YouTube apps on the Play Store. The official YouTube app I use is terrible. Always buffering. Even on a strong wifi connection. YouTube through the browser works alright, but is less convenient. Anybody have any recommendations?

is there an app that just downloads the audio track and plays it? i swear i found one a couple years ago on my wfs but i forgot what it was. i dont care much about the videos, as i only use you tube to find and play specific tracks, but its such a data hog with the vids

Ima register my interest here - since getting a tablet I've found i cannot watch HD vids due to buffering issues that don't exist in browser or on other devices using the same connection.
I never play strictly audio from YouTube as there are plenty of OTHER audio options I use on the M. When I'm on YouTube it's for videos. Heck the website works from my phone better than the app.

I know it's been a few months from the last response, but I feel like I should still reply in case you/someone else is still interested in a better Youtube app.
Viral HD Youtube Popup Player is the best Youtube app I've found for Android, far better than the official app. You can actually choose what quality video you want instead of HQ/HD and not HQ/HD, which is something about the official app that really annoys me. Also it doesn't shove recommended videos in your face when you start it, it instantly shows your subscriptions. The player interface also has much more usability (eg. changing the brightness/volume and being able to lock it) and it also has a neat feature to play the video in a popup window while you do other stuff (which isn't very useful in most situations really and you can disable it in the settings if you don't use it) or you can just have the video play in the background (which is really useful in case it's a podcast/music video).
It does have some bugs and missing features, which I'm sure will get fixed eventually, but in general the app looks really good and polished unlike most other unofficial Youtube apps.
(I was going to put a link to it in the Play store, but since I can't just search for Viral HD Youtube Popup Player and you'll find it)
PS. I've no idea if it fixes the buffering issue, I just had to share it since it's fairly difficult to stumble upon it in the Play store and it's just so good that it deserves far more than 100k downloads

Anyone having issues getting YouTube go be full resolution after the latest update? Check out how the lines of the M are all wavy! What gives?!
Touch the video. In the lower right corner of the video screen is an expansion icon. Press it to expand to the full Nexus 7 screen.

I believe the new YouTube app is only using 720 rather than 1080.

That's probably it. I'm using the old YouTube app with a mod that allows you to choose the quality settings. And it's much better than the new YouTube in terms of playback quality. I hope Google addresses this. Or hopefully someone will mod the new YouTube app to allow us to set the quality.

I hope so too, this is unacceptable. Especially right after the release of their flagship tablet with the highest pixel density.... I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this...
I didn't back up the old version and I can't restore... Any chance you would post the apk for an older version?
Or link to that mod?
Edit: found it
