Don't think the OG supports OTG at all sorry to let you down bro, I was pretty let down by that

As far as I am concerned, even stock kernel support OTG, but output voltage is too low to power any usb device so to make it work you have to have external powered usb device.
use a 4.4.2 ROM + this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744364

You sure that by default it does ?? I tried to connect my 1TB HDD through usb OTG cable on my stock 4.1 E970 . It didn't worked.
The HDD was powered by a power source.
I guess the OG doesn't have OTG in stock ROM.

I'm not sure because I've never tested. Even on my last phone which had otg support, rarely did I use otg. But 1 TB HDD is not sth you can test the capability cause as I said even the phones which have the otg can't run it.

Well, there's always a plan B. Just use blutooth sticks and install box and register with your LG device to get 50 GB free space.
Bluetooth Sticks
I didn't even know that Bluetooth sticks exist. Do they work with smartphones?
Gee Roms
I would really like to try the Kernel but I don't know what a Gee Rom is so it would be great if somebody could tell me

Never mind. Will be a nice addition for a custom ROM!
Just found a copy of the user manual. Can't see any reference to it in there either. Odd as a couple of site have confirmed it's presence.
Guess we'll have to get by on the internal storage until HTC release kernel source code and the kernel devs can add it.
Thanks for confirming though.

Was USB OTG support ever automatically supported in HTC Phones? I always thought it was a feature merged into the kernel by any random dev that felt like doing it.

Install HTC Sync. Either that or check for MTP. If you are on Windows, it will recognize MTP. You need the Android app for MTP on a Mac. USB transfer is being eliminated. MTP IS more efficient.

You could find temp root (before a full) on Modaco website or here on XDA Thread [TUT] temp-root using SuperBoot
You can download here r1-endeavor-superboot.zip
But take care, at the begining it was planned for the non retail One X
and about USB OTG, some devs are going to cooking something and including it in custom roms
Delete pls
Theres 2 usb hosts on the t3 chip, 1 is inernal usb host, reading modem as a usb device and the other is external usb host, e.g. reading from usb otg cable
Current kernel from htc is 2.6 which isnt the latest, when htc upgrade to 3.x kernel usb otg will be included

Look through code written by nvidea
Its either otg wasnt implemented in 2.6.x kernel, or htc are removing it on purpose

Maybe because they want to force people to use the drop box integration? Seems like a bad move if so as it'd be good to have otg access for us that don't want to put huge movies in online storage and such!

Possible.
I guess it depends really on how tight deal HTC have with Dropbox.

You can do USB OTG with the stock ROM but you'll need to root and install StickMount. I just received my US GSM Galaxy Nexus and this is working great for me. Good luck!

None.
usb otg on the play, still nothing?
From what I gathered so far, usb otg is not working on the xperia play, because at present it is broken/not fully supported in the original kernel and there is no custom kernel with a fix (yet). ..and no ICS-ROM can make it work as long as there is no kernel with a proper implemantation.
Is that correct, or does it work with some custom ICS-ROMs?
USB OTG is really the only thing I'm missing in the xperia play.
Can someone tell me on wich Kernel otg is working
Thx

With that kernel you need a powered usb hub. With official JB update, your phone can power almost anyting, even a 500gb portable hard drive work..

Which rom and kernel do you use to have OTG??
All stock, just rooted and unlocked.Didn't manage to make it work on CM or other custom rom. In time i think CM team will make the kernel support USB OTG.
having 2 USB OTG cables here that works with all my android devices except for the E975.
I tried 2 cardreaders and like 4 USB drivers. not working. It's not even getting power from the phone.
So either you used a cable for external power or you told us bull****.
bull****
i testet an usb stick on xperia T, he works

Hey, as u said, i've also tried that,
ONLY for USB OTG, i flshed my E975 to stock again with kdz, from cyanogenmod 10.2
But that's not working bro, what should i do for it ?
i didn't mentioned my G at that time was a test version. it worked on it,after getting the final model,it didn't worked anymore.
We need a custom kernel for it
Or you can compile a kernel from source with otg module if u have skills.
I dont know why kitekernel doenst support this.
Sent from my IM-A850K using Tapatalk 2
Nope..it's hardware restricted.you won't be able to power that device. In theory,it could work with a powered device and a patched kernel. Too much trouble for such benefits.
Sent from my MB526 using Tapatalk
i dont know about external power but i tried 4 usb sticks on a xperia T and only 1 worked without extra power, so i think extra power is not needed!!
Xperia T supports OTG. G can't,because it won't supply juice to the device. Without power,it won't work.
Juz install cpuz app whivh shows how much volts ur battery is supplyin.... Less than 5v nd usb won't work....

Confirm LG Optimus G does not support OTG
Tried a usb stick with OTG cable. Stock LG rom does not support otg. OTG works perfect with a sony xperia sp. Wish LG supports this function in the future. Hopefully software change only and not hardware limited. Cheers.
