Hi, i need some help.
My LT15i is now unlocked, rooted and flashed with cynogenmod 7.
I want to install the official ICS.
So the only thing i have to do is put the 4.1.B.0.431 Generic global world file on my SDcard and install via recovery?
Firmware: 2.3.7
ROM: Cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1 xperia arc LT15i
Kernel:2.6.32.9-FXP [email protected] #4
Or do i have to do more?
Please help cause my phone is now very unstable.
Thanks.
No, for that you need to use flashtool.

.ftf files need to be flashed by Flashtool.
Recovery is good for flashing ROMs but it can't change the kernel or the baseband.
The .ftf contains all this stuff so you just need to flash it with Flashtool.
And just FYI, .img is flashed using fastboot.
Cheers!

Thanks for the clear answer!
I now understand that a .ftf contains also kernel and baseband.
I flashed the file and till now everything seems to be ok.
Installing app-, contacts-, sms- backup and again ready to go.
Thanks again

Flashable Zip and stripped FTF for rooted 4.3
Part 1: http://d-h.st/IwR
Part 2: http://d-h.st/Gwj
Are these files to be run with the same procedure as the one already posted (c650x)?.
If I'm on the journalist firmware, should I downgrade first, or is it OK to do it over the journalist one?

The first file is the unmodified version and can be flashed with flashtool (there's no root).
The other is the exact same process as in Nut's thread, (files were created with his tutorial). Earlier you needed to flashback to 4.2.2 because there was no root on 4.3 and therefore no DualRecovery. If you have recovery, then just flash the zip, poweroff and flash the stripped ftf. Same process...nothing is different.

Is it easy to build this kind of (NUT)-zip out of an ftf? Would like to have a german c6503 zip for NUT's method.

I have an C6506 on Android 4.2.2 with Compilation 10.31.A.2.67 and it's rooted
My question is: What steps do I have to follow to install the flashable version? and What are the differences between the official one and the flashable?

The official version simply flashes your phone back to stock by removing root and recovery. If I ever sale the phone, ill use that file to restore everything back to factory.
Steps for flashable version:
1 - Since you are already rooted and I assume you have recovery, upload the flashable zip on your SDCard
2 - Flash the ZIP using recovery and power off WITHOUT rebooting
3 - Flash the stripped FTF using FlashTool
Boot your phone and you're done
What if my phone is not rooted, bootloader is locked and is on .569 (4.3) version?? Thanks.

My bootloader is locked too and is unlockable (at the moment), bootloader isn't important. If you want root on your 569, you have no choice, you need to flash back a stock FTF 4.1.2 or 4.2.2. whichever version works with DoomLord's 1 click root method. Once that is done, you install recovery and flash the zip via recovery, power off phone, flash stripped FTF via Flashtool and you're back on rooted 569.
Flashback to 4.1 o 4.2?? Tried flashing the .423 kernels only buy my phone get's stuck on the boot "sony" screen. Any tips?

Which firmware did you flash back to? 10.3.1.A.0.244
1 - Flash 244 FW
2 - Flash Kernel from 423 and reboot phone
3 - Root using "DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit"
4 - Flash back Kernel from 244
and then go on with installing recovery to perform next steps to go back on rooted 569
It has to work, I did a million times!
If your stuck on a bootloop right now, just flash back the whole 244 FTF. it will put you back on full stock.

.244 or .267 FW. I ask because I read on another thread that I had to flash the COMPLETE .267 fw. Is this accurate?? The .267 I have, where can I get the .244?
Additionally, what did you use to back up your app data on the .569 fw? Thanks again.

You can do it with the 67 as well. Process is the same so either 244 or 67.
I always use Titanium Backup to make a backup of all my apps/games, I have the paid version coz I have about 100 apps and don't feel like restoring them 1 at a time afterwards.
I just got an OTA notification about the new 10.4.1.B.0.101 on my phone. Ill probably be creating the files for this one tonight, so maybe you should wait another day before flashing the 569 .... 101 is newer. :victory:

I'm not rooted so TBU is a no go for me. What other back up method would you suggest?
The main reason for rooting now is because I also received the 101 update notification. Better to root now before stuff really gets complicated... again, thanks for the help.
Looking forward to your new. 101 fw (flashable zip and stripped ftf). Got the Ota too for 35mb but won't install, guess because I am rooted(Lb)

I created that one too. I just didn't get a chance to upload it. Will do it either tonight or tomorrow... :highfive:
Would this work on C6502 model?
Did you upload the 101 FW yet?
What other method of back up can be used besides titanium BU? Thanks again.
Guys just sharing how I updated my ZL to the latest KK 4.4.2 and ROOT, in case someone is interested. Total time it took me around 2hrs using 10MB connection.
1. Downgrade to 4.2 Nordic version. Optional if youre 4.3 is already in Nordic.
2. Relock bootloader.
3. Use SUS to download and install the 4.4.2 update.
4. Decrypt and create your own FTF from the files downloaded by SUS.
5. Unlock bootloader.
6. Flash CM11 KK boot.img using fastboot.
7. Boot to CWM, flash supersu update zip to root the phone
8. Relfash STOCK Sony Kernel using the FTF created in step4.
9. Enjoy ROOT access.
10. Optional - relock bootloader.
Disclaimer - by following the steps, your warranty is VOID now. BUT you get to have the latest version of Android, ROOT and customization for your phone. I have made necessary backups to restore everything to STOCK, including DRM keys in case I need to go for warranty.
Edit - i'll update later with download links for flashtool, SUS, CM11 bootimg, chainfire supersu update
Additional screenie for fastboot commands -
2 questions, I'd love to do this, but...
1. Where can I find this nordic version? Is this an ftf somewhere?
2. How do you relock the bootloader? Is there something available? I can't seem to find it...
where i can find this supersu update zip? it comes with KK CM11?

... to create this stock image with root and recovery included.
Oh, awesome! You should probably add that to the title
Does this have the same issue as the .101 where the XZDR.prop file needs to be replaced in order to access recovery?

lol, It might, I deleted the files in that directory right before turning off my phone to access recovery and flash the new zip. Both recovery's are working great with 4.4.2
Downloading now!

First of ... thanks Crash! You were really fast! I'm downloading right now
What directory do we need to delete the files from? I was not aware of the issue, though now I know why I couldn't access recovery on 101 :silly:

In your SDCard, simply delete the files in the XZDualRecovery or rename the XZDR.prop. If you delete them, they get recreated anyway and fixes that problem you had with 101
Oh, how much I love you right now. Thanks a lot! Will report if I encounter any issue with your files, though I seriously doubt I will.

This FTF works to UB and LB or just for UB. Any bugs, something special wich we need to know after flashing?

Locked or unlocked BL isn't important with these files.
Just upload the ZIP to your SDCard and flash it in recovery, then power off your phone without rebooting and flash the stripped FTF with Flashtool and you're done.
Thank you guys!
But for those (like my self) who are not experts on this, could you please, provide a detailed (step by step) guide on how to flash it?
If I already flashed it to kitkat (not rooted), can I do it over this one?
Regards

I flashed it with CWM but TWRP should also work without issues.

My BL is locked, there are easier ways if you have an unlocked bootloader but this will work whether your BL is locked or unlocked. Ive been running it for a few hours now and no issues, root and dual recovery's are working.

If you already flashed 4.4.2 then you do not have root and therefore cannot flash these. You will need to flash back to an older 4.2.2 so you can root and then install recovery. Once you have recovery the steps are:
1 - upload the zip to your SDCard and flash it via recovery
2 - After flash is successful, turn off your phone without rebooting.
3 - Flash the stripped FTF file via FlashTool and boot your phone.
That's it
