Firstly go to sammobile and register there. Then find you devices firmware, download it and flash it via Odin.

Ok here goes my Story
I have recently brought s3(used) it was on 4.3 & rooted with philz touch 6 didn't check the firmware details etc
As i was playing with philz touch 6 & did something which i remember was to clean rom or some thing now the phone boots & shows Samsung Galaxy SIII & stops there
I think its on I747UCUEMJ2 Modified ROM ยป Root, KNOX Disabled, SE-Linux Disabled not sure
Is there a way to get it back ..?
If you are able to access download mode, you could easily flash a custom ROM.
S i can access download mode
Can i go back to stock or only custom firmware from now on..?

If I were you, I would go to a custom firmware. That is if you have a custom recovery like ClockWorkmod or TWRP. But you can flash stock, at least to my understanding. But I'd look into that.
(Your bootloader will need to be unlocked too)
I am on Clockworkmod v6.0.3.1 the thing is i don't want a custom firmware 2 many problems
I would like to load stock buy have read most of them get their phones bricked

If you were on the 4.3 official stock ROM that was pushed out, you have a possibility of bricking your device downgrading to lets say the 4.1.2 stock ROM.
A custom ROM isn't bad though. If you do like Touchwiz based ROMs you may be able to find one in the development section.

What information are you wanting to backup?
You'll have to find your ROM of choice. If you want a reliable ROM then I'd recommend something that is stable, which should always be said in the thread,

Notes,contacts ,sms etc
Will check out stable Rom

Contacts could be backed up if you sync with your gmail account. SMS can be done by an application on the market. Notes that are synced on Evernote or Keep should just be there.

ok will check it out
Ok i have downloaded some Rom (all different ) i get status 7 when installing it & re do the script i get status 6 error
Any ideas about it ..?
So i waited for a while to get my answers or solution still nothing
Got bored looking @ my s3 lying as a paper weight as decide to downgrade to the stock firmware 4.1.1 by odin

[Q] How to root p5220 Tab3 10.1

Hi guys, I just bought my tab 3 10.1 not long ago. However I been searching high and low for rooting method for my tab, here what I found : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432467 which is for p5210 and I heard I might brick my device and I have to re-flash everything back, but I also saw people have done and it works. So my questions is will this work on my tab 3 p5220XXUAML1, if not how should i root my tab?
you must first install twrp or cwm with odin first.
by the way, can you do a testing before you root? can you install antutu and run a benchmark? i am getting only 14k with P5220, but all review suggesting it should be around 19k. i feel laggy with my tab, i dont know it is because i am not using original stock firmware....

Thanks for the reply, I know I must have custom recovery and that's what about in the link, and I just wanna confirm that this version of the cwm will not gonna brick my device. And about the benchmark, i got around 18.2K, i am on original stock firmware.
i confirm that root is ok, please get it from CWM thread.
by the way, how can you get 18.2k? i just flashed to stock firmware and i got only 15k... may i confirm you using P5220/ which firmware version? do you mind to share the version?

Sure why not mine is P5220XXUAML1. Thanks for the answer and I gonna try that CWM and root tomorrow. Mind if you share with me the root and custom recovery file? Is ok if it's Odin or Flash.zip

hi from what im understanding ur wanting to root it and install custom firmware
here is a video i used from rootjunky to root my tablet with twrp
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDShwBHRjUE
hope it helped
@first there is no cm for this tab. All custom roms based on stock rom or 4.2.2 port from sm-t110
There is no need to unlock bootloader like HTC. No seperate flash of Boot.img...
Install cwm or twrp recovery with Odin. Check threads for Odin install instructions. Its easy going
Cwm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433853
Twrp:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2653391
If you only want to root flashable ZIP for root is attached in recovery threads.
If you want to try custom roms check index thread for sm-t210 Roms.

Not working, resolution problems or FCs. And yes i use the T210 versions and no other.
Also recoverys are baaad. Lol now i know why i will never get a Samsung ... crap casing, crap software.

If u would like i could upload a list of build.prop tweaks to use to improve over all performannce like image battery life wifi speed stuff like that just over all makes the tab run smoother

Try looking at the specs of each ROM and compare it with yours. I am currently running S.E.A.L ROM
with the Black hawk kernel I am finding it faster than the Stock ROM and also way less bloatware.
Try this or the RocketTab Rom and Blackhawk. These tend to work the best for most SM-T210 and R.

help with ace ii firmware

ive lost my computer HD and lost a bunch of stuff. as for ace ii related things, ive lost mg2 firmware, temp root, samsung drivers, custom recoveries and roms. custom recoveries and roms arent much of an issue since ace2nutzer, chronomonochrome and sergeyl are still actively developing. as for stock firmware and temp root, i cant seem to be able to find a good download site (site that supports resuming/pausing)
id like to humbly request an upload for the barebone basics such as stock firmware, temp root, odin and all the other you-need-these-to-install-custom-rom stuff to an easy to use download service (like google drive)
*EDIT*
my phone is currently out of order and it seems i need to reflash using odin. i was using ace2nutzers cm11 and ran into some issues. then i tried flashing chronokernel 4.4.2 when trying to upgrade to ace2nutzers more recent cm11 build, but im facing philz recovery error 'status 7' when trying to flash anything. it is currently systemless, with only recovery mode (philz) and download mode working
*EDIT2*
in philz it is stating my internal storage as sdcard1 and not 0. my external is called sdcard0
If you have ace2nutzer's kernel, install it by recovery, power off and boot on recovery again.
Then install the ROM you want.
I've never faced status 7 error with CWM recovery 6.0.5.0 of this kernel.
me too, only TWRP didnt work once, and chrono admitted it was a bug he couldnt fix.
i opened up the rom on my friends PC and it turned out it was a corrupted archive. CWM flashed it anyways and that was why i lost the OS. i dont understand why i couldnt just reflash a newly downloaded and checked archive but that too didnt work. i also tried installing the kernel again, rebooted and tried installing the rom again and nope. then removing the whole assert thing under updater-script, it only worked once when installing a kernel. annnd finally after a sleepless night i tried adb sideloading and fastboot recovery, it was a bad decision as now even recovery mode doesnt work -.-
theres a good thing though, download mode still works. im hoping someone can upload a stock rom somewhere safe. i read but dont understand why people say mg2 is preferred.
Mg2 is the newest base band but for your target it doesn't matter right now.
What model do you have, 8160 or 8160P with NFC?
sorry for the late reply, I needed something to get my mind off my old friend
its a standard ace ii, non P/L version

Just install by Odin Russian gingerbread following instructions from YouTube video below.
After this, you'll have the phone like a brand new taken from the factory (at least the firmware).
Then, install any jelly bean stock you want.
And finally you can install the custom ROM you want.
Download Russian gingerbread from this link:

huge kudos, its all running just fine again with ace2nutzers cm11
im hoping dropbox wont die/expire

Don't worry about that, I uploaded this Dropbox link and I probably won't retire it for a long time.
This is the only 3 part stock firmware for GT-i8160 and it's the only ROM that can repair almost anything we "do" the phone.
