This might be a real simple thing but I havent seen it anywhere yet in the forums. Using the boot animation changer in ROM toolbox is really cool and today is the first day I actually have tried it. I am just wondering, now that I have the actual boot animation changed, I still have the gut wrenching ATT jingle that plays behind my boot animation. Whats the best way to either change it, or silence it? I still get the 2 LG boot logo's, but I assume that's not going anywhere until the bootloader (if ever) gets dealt with. Hey all, thanks for the help.

Ive been trying to port this animation and haven't really gotten anywhere. I thought I had an idea but i'm pretty sure it's bunk due to the size of this animation (somewhere around 15megs for the OG droid). Anyone have any advice on how to get this working with the G2?
Here's the youtube for it.

Here is the bootanimation.zip that was developed for the droid 1 earlier this year, I had a tough time finding it as every site link was broken, what's up with that?

Any help would be appreciated, at first I would somewhat play but now all it does is just jump straight to the home screen (no animation whatsoever).
BTW, I saw that there were a couple other boot animation threads here however I didn't want to thread jack with questions about this animation. If this is deemed redundant then it's cool to get rid of it, just frustrated right now.
The g2 is probably booting too fast for the entire animation to load and play.
That's what I was thinking, whouda thought that there would be a day that a phone would boot to fast. lol
I found a good site that explains the desc.txt which is what I was wanting to edit.

So is this ultimately a no go?
If I were you I would just try incresing the fps from 30 to 60 and see if more of it shows.

Well, I managed to get it running again, was compressing it the wrong way after editing.
IDK, I think this phone just boots too fast for such a large animation, I mean...there's like 300+ PNG's to load before the phone boots. Maybe go even higher with the FPS? I doubt that would do anything.
If you went any higher I think you'd lose the effect of the boot animation. Running cyanogenmod from the beginning of the cyanogenmod animation to phone ready is about 6-7 seconds lol...

bumping a super old thread looking for support.
i saw the video for this bootanimation and thought it looked really good.
it is a rather large and lengthy bootanimation and i tried for a couple of hours trying to get it to at least show up on my g2 all night, but, got nothing.
i dont know what the problem could be though. i managed to get a bootanimation from over at the evo forums to work but cant get this one up and running.
is there anyway of going without a splash screen, and just having bootanimation run from the time you turn on phone till desktop pops up??
i have search forums cant find anything, or overlooked it.
As for no splash screen, I don't believe so. If you wanted, you could make a blank one of sort if it bothers you that much.
it doesnt bother me, hell got a custom one installed, i just have one bootanimation that gets cut off cause my phone loads fast, and i dont see whole bootanimation. so a blank one would do the same. but ty

Well if you needed it to be longer, you could try getting a different one, or decreasing the frames per second.
no you can't. the splash is a very basic image, that is executed by the boot.img alone, while the boot.img is loading the system. once the system is (at least partially) loaded, it can start the boot animation. correct me if i'm wrong (probably am) but i think that's how it works. either way, you need a splash.

teh metaldude strikes again. haven't seen him lately.
cool guys thanx for all the responding, i will stick with bootanimation i have. and to get full animation that i wanted i would to increase frames per sec. to see more of the animation instead of decreasing making it slower and seeing less of the animation. but again thanx for your help. glad i joined this forum it has been a big help since rooting my evo

Yea, increase...typo on my part. >> Though glad you got it resolved. And you're welcome, there are a few helpful people here.
Hello, all. I am a bit stuck on something and hope someone can help me. A while back I modified one of those BIOS boot animations to match the info on my Evo, and today I modified it to reflect my ROM change.
After editing, I got all the separate pictures back together and put them into an uncompressed ZIP file like I did before and put it back in place of the old boot animation, the only trouble is now when the animation runs, it seems like it is going about 2x as fast as it should.
I didn't decrease the number of pictures/frames and when you watch it, the actual animation is going crazy fast. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Hi there I was just wondering if there was anybody who could make a boot animation/logo.
It would just be to match the white Google logo that you see on start-up before the boot animation kicks in.
Would anybody be able to do this for me? I'm running AOKP Milestone 2 GSM. If you want anymore info just say, many thanks.
It's not quite seamless, but I've been very pleased with the righ-res version of the Google gears boot animation found HERE.
It doesn't line up perfectly, but it's clean, and the gears are a good indicator that the phone is doing something, rather than having just hung on the bootloader. Also, the original version may line up better, didn't try it.

Oh yeah I'm a big fan of the Google gears, that's where this idea sprouted from. I'd just love it to be seamless Google throughout though, also I find that when the phone vibrates during boot that its a good indicator.
Okay, so I am porting over the new Virgin Mobile boot animation from the HTC Evo V 4G. I have been able to resize all the images to our phones screen size, and I have also been able to put them in a bootanimation.zip. The bootanimation works just fine, except it doesn't play the boot sound. I have read this guide, and It does not work for me. How do I make it so the sound will play? Any help will be greatly appriciated as I really want this boot animation, and I would love to port over boot animations from other devices with the sounds also!

I don't understand. Haha. Okay, so I suppose I will speel out my little plan here.
I'm planning that if the HTC Golf port gets completed, and then ported to CDMA, (One can hope right?}, that with the approval of the developers I could re-do some things to make it different. I was thinking of like making it look like it was really released as an update from Virgin Mobile. Like by adding the new VM boot animation and sound. I already have the boot animation, the sound file, and all the applications and images that Virgin Mobile has released. I have been trying to get the boot animation all situated on CM9. I have been looking all over the internet for things on how to make the boot sound play with the animation, but nothing seems to work. Do you have any idea on how to have it work? Oh, by the way, the CM9 I'm using doesn't have a boot sound with the ROM, or I would have just named the ogg file the same and called it a done deal. Sorry if that really doesn't make much sense.
