[Guide] 492 error fix - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Hello everyone
Common problem in many cm7 roms is the "492 error".
The popular method involves clearing data of google framework, play store and clear cache& dalvik cache....
For ppl (like me) who were unsuccessful in solving the error, here's an alternative method.
What i observed was - when i encountered a 492 error in Google play store, in recovery too i found this - "E: can't open/cache/recovery/last_log
So here's what you should do -
1. Backup data in recovery
2. Wipe everything
3. Advanced /Reboot recovery
4. Restore everything
5. Reboot
Now u can install apps without any errors (also u won't find - E:Can't open/..... Error in recovery too). Worked for me in New experience rom. Plz report

Installation aborted.
The internal of the zip is different than another roms , idk
Does it boot into cwm over and over or does it fail to flash. Need more info.
You might have one of those rare DZs with the G2 hboot.
Nevermind. Not the problem.
if you already backup current rom, proceed to ROM Manager > Install ROM from SD Card > select ROM's zip file > and just tick Wipe Data & Cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache.
if that method doesn't work, try using tool recommended by RCMixed's dev - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050283

Sounds like a corrupt download to me. Redownload the ROM, and provide more detail on the exact error you're receiving (i.e. Install Aborted (Error 6), or something to that effect)

[Q] my HOX gone crazy

Hey guys,
I'm getting really frustrated with my HOX. I'm desperate for help.
I kept getting these gapps, android.acore and htc.bgp errors which caused all the apps to crash also suffered from random restarts with JB and I rollback to ICS 4.0.3. Still no good. Same stuff happening.
I did so many cache wiping, factory resets resotring my system but nothing seems to get my device to work properly for more than two days.
Sometimes i got these errors right aftor a recovery, so its not because of a specific app.
Today my phone just shut down and refused to start (HTC white screen stuck).
I tried restoring my old system image but clockworkmod gave me "Error while restoring /system!" with I/O errors.
I don't think there is anything wrong with OS but something more native not ruling out hardware\battery issues.
Any assistance would be more than helpful, i'm really struggling here ..
I don't get any replies so i'll try to explain myself better :
My HOX gets a lot of gapps/htc/android errors. Factory reset and recovery doesn't solve it.
Every two days my device is shutting itself down and won't start until I do a full recovery of the system (which sometimes fail).
Happened with JB and now with ICS stock rom.
I just downloaded a 3.14.709 backup, flashed it using clockworkmod and the first thing to appear was an android.acore error and the phone shut down.
I think there is something wrong with the hardware or serious software issue I don't understand.
Is there away to completely wipe the whole device and install everything from scratch ?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated ..
Do a Factory Reset in recovery and go to "mounts and storage" and format system too.
Then Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache to be sure
Now flash the rom you want + kernel from fastboot (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
If tyou still have such problems then its most likely the hardware...

Thanks a lot for the advice,
I did the following :
1. Factory reset - wipe cache \ data \ sd-card
2. Format system
3. dalvik cache and cache erase
4. download a recovery for my cid from the forum here
5. flashed boot.img
6. restored the recovery using clockworkmod
7. flashed gapps.
The device went up ok but I hope it lasts more than a day or two before it start rebooting \ crashing.
The last time I did it it gave me errors before it even showed the home screen.
Once again thanks a lot .. I will post further updates soon.
Good luck,buddy.
Tough luck,
After less than 24 hours I started getting Talk\Facebook\Play\Whatsapp has stopped.
Than the phone got into a boot loop and wouldn't start (Stuck on HTC white logo screen).
When I went into boot recovery and try to wipe the phone to load a recovery I got these errors :
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
and
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p13
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p15
Error formatting /data!
Error formatting /sdcard!
Error formatting /system!
etc .. etc ..
And it wouldn't let me choose a backup to restore.
I'm getting more and more convinced it's not a rom\boot\kernel issue but rather a hardware issue ..
Any thoughts on my assumption or fresh ideas ?

did u wipe data/factory reset? did u wipe cache and dalvic cache? If u have, u should also go to advanced and format system...i had the same issue...when i did this the installation proceeded as it should...but first of all, backup ur system just in case...also, keep the original zip folder, do not erase the text from the 'update-script'...just keep it original and do as i say above...

Thanks mate for the reply.
I had followed all the steps mentioned in your reply except ''format system'' option as I dont see this ''format system'' option inside ''Advanced''.
Original zip folder is kept as it is. Nothing has been erased from the 'update-script'. But still while installing zip (rom) I am getting this on my display:
_ _ Installing: /sdcard/omni-4.4.4-220140922-n7000-NIGHTLY.zip
Finding update package. . .
Opening update package. . .
Installing update. . .
Warning: No file_contextsset_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/omni-4.4.4-220140922-n7000-NIGHTLY.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I am really tired of seeing this message again and again. Whenever I start my phone PhilZ Touch 4 page appears with all thoes install zip, wipe data..etc etc options. :crying:
Please help me out.

GApps on CM12.1

Hi, can someone tell me which GApps install on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195 with CM12.1. I have tried a lot of GApps and none of them seem to work, everytime I reboot I get a message saying "Google Play Services has stopped working".
If I do a fresh install formatting /system and only install CM12.1 everything works just fine. But always GApps crash my phone. I don't know what to do. Please help me.
Hi,
I have almost (unfortunately google partner setup has stopped) the same error today after flashed clean snapshot but i resolved with this method:
Empty the Cache of the system app Google Play services
Navigate in the following submenu:
Menu --> Settings --> Applications --> Application Manager --> tab "All"
Search here for the entry "Google Play services". Tap it once to display detailed information about this app on the screen of your smartphone. In this window, you will now find a button with "Clear Cache". Tap on the button, so that the cache is flushed. Then restart your Android smartphone.

I've always used GApps recommended by the developer, in this case i used this:
Open GApps CyanogenMod - use Mini, Micro, Nano or Pico it your choice what app you want installed directly.
Good luck
Hi,
I've got just this problem, following on from upgrading from CM11 (long-time user of this) to CM12.1. I've found huge numbers of posts, both here and elsewhere, with people experiencing GApps crashing constantly on start-up with CM12.1. Most of the responses recommend different sources of GApps, or different orders in which things should be wiped/formatted and then installed, etc. I have tried cm-12.1-20151007-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO336-serranoltexx.zip and cm-12.1-20151008-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO34N-serranoltexx.zip. I've tried gapps-L-5-1-15, gapps-5.1-arm-2015-07-17-13-29, open_gapps-arm-5.1-mini-20151018, Slim_mini_gapps.BETA.5.1.build.0.x-20151016, tk_gapps-modular-mini-5.1.1-20151004-signed. I've done a full format of /system on each re-install, plus formats of /data, /cache, Dalvik cache (both before and after installs of CM12.1 and various GApps). No matter what, I always have the problem of all GApps crashing continuously as soon as the phone boots.
I'm absolutely stuck. I'm all googled-out. If anyone can offer any more things for me to try in order to get GApps installed and working under CM12.1 on my i9195, I'd be really grateful.
UPDATE
________________________________________
Problem fixed! The issue was CWM Recovery. I had v6.0.3.something (I think) installed from quite some time ago. I found a post where someone stated this was the cause of the GApps installation problem. I replaced it with twrp-2.8.6.0-serranoltexx-f2fs (not easy, since my Linux laptop didn't want to see the phone in fastboot mode - eventually had to boot up a Win7 machine and install Odin v3.09). From there I was able to wipe everything, install cm-12.1-20151008-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO34N-serranoltexx and gapps-L-5-1-15, and then everything worked!
I have no idea why one recovery image would work and the other wouldn't. I'd have thought installing a zip was not something that could go wrong. Clearly not!
Hope someone finds this info helpful.

Tab 3 8.0 - Can't install this package on top of incompatible data

EDIT: Resolved! For anybody else having the issue, ensure you wipe data in TWRP by going to wipe > Format Data AS WELL AS using the normal wipe. I had, in my frustration completely forgotten about this option and assumed formatting /data/ in advanced wipe was the same thing... well, I've learned my mistake after it's cost me the best part of a day trying to solve... derp
I've ran into an incredibly annoying issue that's preventing me from installing any CyanogenMod roms on my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (lt01wifi).
The issue is, no matter how many times I attempt it, no matter what I seem to do I cannot install roms via TWRP or Phillz, I always run into the error -
Code:
Installing update... detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name/SYSTEM detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name/USERDATA Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset E: Error in /storage/sdcard1/Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5. (Status 7) E: Installation Aborted
I've tried the suggestions I've found online and on XDA. Most of which seem to be as simple as factory resetting, wiping cache and dalvik cache etc and from what I've seen that's worked for everybody else - yet not on my tablet >.<
Quick rundown of what I've done so far
1) Install TWRP or Phillz via odin 307
2) Update TWRP or Phillz to the latest version (however I have tried custom and older versions of the recovery with the same result)
3) Wipe Cache and factory reset (tried before AND after attempting to install the rom, including wiping the dalvik cache)
4) Still run into the error, repeat the process in a different order / trying different things / reinstalling stock roms / rooting / trying different unofficial versions of CyanogenMod
I've tried both CyanogenMod 13 and Resurrection Remix, ensuring that I've got the lt01wifi version each time.
I've tried pretty much everything I can think of myself and everything suggested online - I'm flat out of options. Factory resetting SHOULD work, it's worked for everyone else I've seen...
