T mobile network with ATT phone - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi guys, I just came from ATT to tmobile. I have hotspot service with T mobile, However it doesnt work on my unlocked rooted ATT samsung S4 with MK2 on stock 4.3 rom. Is there anyway I can get this work? any helps will be really appreciated!

Flash Wicked v10 followed by loki-doki.zip ... Other Tmobile based roms will work with hotspot also.

Is there anyway I can stay on stock rom? or maybe with t mobile stock rom?

Wicked v10 has stock ROM options. I'm sure there is a very close to stock ROM out there that will serve your needs. Wicked v10 installer allows you to flash all the Tmobile stuff you want. If you want to solve your problem, flash it. Otherwise, search the forums for yourself. Go to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295557 and look for the Tmobile 4.3 or 4.4 ROM that suits you. Just don't forget to flash loki-doki.zip after you flash the ROM. Happy hunting...

Question about using ATT Rom

I have read that I can use a ATT ROM on my T-Mobile S4 and was wondering if I did so and then of course flashed a t-mobile kernel, if I would have wifi calling or not. I am not sure if that is part of the rom or not so wanted to just check.

You can flash an AT&T ROM, but flashing a T-Mobile kernel will not enable WiFi Calling, because it is part of the ROM. Sorry.
The way u wanna do it by flashing an att rom on a tmobile s4 more than likely
wont work cause the wifi call feature is built deep into the tmobile roms... AND ALSO WORKS OF THE SIM CARD.
On the other hand You should be able to flash any tmobile rom.... on a att branded s4 and get wifi calling just keep the att kernel..
And keep att baseband.
This should be no diff for s4 because
On the att s3 you can flash tmobile 4.1.2 roms and get wifi calling
If it uses aroma installer and opts to keep kernel...then keep the kernel but continue flashing tmobile rom...
Ive used many tmobile roms in my att s3 with wifi calling.
Havent tried it with a tmo s4 on a att rom.... just make sure u backup stock att rom if all else fails.

There are three prerequisites for getting wifi calling to work using an AT&T phone.
#1: Unlocked Phone
#2: Tmobile Sim card
#3: Flash a Tmobile 4.2 or 4.3 Jellybean M919 Touchwiz based custom or stock rom.
Once you have met those three requirements your AT&T phone will have wifi calling.
Good luck!

Just wanted to add, use the kernel and modems that are meant for AT&T even though you are running a TMobile rom.

No need to change modems, none of the cwm/twrp flashable zip file roms contains modems and
he needs to use whatever modem he already has, flashing a tmobile modem will most likely cause
signal loss since it's related to hardware and the AWS frequencies on the AT&T phone.
Get it to work?

I have an AT&T S4 myself on T-mobile now and I cannot find a combo that works. I cannot install a recovery on mine without Safestrap and while I can flash rom's with this method, I have yet to find a combo of roms and kernels where everything works. I either get a rom that will not boot at all or a I get one that will boot but no wifi whatsoever (cannot turn on Wifi). I've tried Safestrap 3.65 and 3.71 and a dozen or so roms and kernels and still no combo that works. What I can say is that 4.2 based roms at least boot.

TW ROM Recommendation

Hey, I'm using a N900T, and was wondering if there are any TW ROMs that are compatible with mines with a clean international base. I don't use WiFi calling or anything, so I don't need it. I can do without the T-Mobile customizations.

For quite a while, the t-mobile update was the most current update period and ran just as stabile as any international rom. I recommend trying the recent nf1 room from t-mobile and using Titanium backup to freeze unwanted bloat. Can't go wrong with either effortless or vision.

Ironically I'm using a T-Mobile ROM with almost every T-Mobile app ripped out with TB. I don't care much for the tmo boot animations etc. I have to see if this is that nf1 you said. I'll check into your other mentions.

So you got a N900T Tmobile phone and want the best and most compatible international
custom rom, well there is only one to choose from in that catagory and it's the X-NOTE.
Unlike other N9005 roms this one does not need any wifi/nfc/bluetooth fix file for it to work.
But best of all it's truly a work of art and it will even work properly on the Tmoble network
without the need to flash any Tmobile kernels.
It comes bundled in the Aroma installer which has ton's of options as to what exactly
you want to install and what you would call junk/bloat and so forth.
But if your really into a stripped down rom and only want more or less the very
basics, why not simply flash a AOSP/CM CyanogenMOD rom?
Those have so much ripped out that the twrp/cwm flashable zip file including the
gapps is way under 3-4 hundred megs in size compared to the 1.4 to 1.8GB
full featured custom roms.
Here is the link to the X-NOTE International thread where you can read all about
it before downloading: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472301
Good luck!

I use AOSP(I have a backup of CM11) and Touchwiz, but when I use Touchwiz, I would rather have it the way Samsung would probably want it, without carrier junk. I'll check into X-Note too. I think it's safe to say that I'm still new to the Note 3 scene.

I've been looking for a new ROM. X-Note looks good, but i'm wondering how well it works on the N900T. I know you can install it with a patch and kernel, but does it run the way it's supposed to if it really was made for the international version of the Note 3?

I am running X-Note now and I have a Tmobile branded N900T Unlocked Note 3 and
the x-note rom works great with it.
One of the niceties about it is the fact that you don't need to apply or flash any patches
for the wifi/nfc/bluetooth to work properly and you don't even need to flash a kernel.
The X-note rom is so compatible to the Note 3 N900T that all it really needs is a full
and complete wipe including factory reset in twrp/cwm recovery before flashing.
Good luck!

Kit Kat Touchwiz ROM ?

Hello,
Is there any kit kat touchwiz ROM available which is somewhat stable? I would like to be able to use tap n pay. I have a Verizon NOte 2 with such a ROM and it works great. I am upset that it is so hard to find a ROM for the tmobile phone.
I guess Tmobile never released kitkat for this phone?
Lol .. :sly:
Use S.W.A.R.M (Stock) or Test Rom 1.2 (it has some S5 apps - does not have wifi calling) follow all instructions for installing.
Sorry SWARM isnt KitKat. Rom of Thrones is - which is the base for my Test Rom 1.2 - Good Luck.

Thanks,
I did try test ROm and my wifi wasn't working. I now know that its because I needed to update my baseband .. Which I have now done. SO ill give one of those a try.
I also understand that we can load AT&T roms on this phone as long as we are using the T889 Radio,,, so I am looking at those roms as well

Yes. You can also try AGNi Kernel if Wifi still isnt working. From my experience 4.3.0 is the best so far.

I had to flash the wifi fix. Im not sure if flashing a kernel would have fixed my wifi problem. As I understand; the issue is that my phone has the original bootloader that it was shipped with. it doesnt have the 4.3 OTA bootloader therfore I had to install this wifi fix.
SO now I have a Tmobile T889 running an ATT touchwiz rom... I have working LTE(LTE worked with Tmobile roms too). To get the LTE to work I had t flash the latest tmobile radio. My Google wallet tap n pay works again. I am extremely happy about this setup!
Oh... and I am using AT&T go as the service... not Tmobile

Yes flashing a kernel would have fixed the wifi. Flashing the patch wouldve probably made things worse to be honest..now the only way to revert the patch is to odin back to the original firmware...
Im on 4.1.2 Bootloader myself. Havent upgraded to anything above that..i only flash kernels and the modems. Works fine for me. Only issue is the charging while phone is off doesnt work.
Which Rom did you use?

The ROMs will work with T-Mobile, but you will probably have to manually load the T-Mo APN settings.
Which bootloader and modem are you on? If you want TW you will not have LP roms as an option, not a problem for me but others always want the latest and greatest. TW KitKat ROMs require at least the NE4 bootloader, unless you are using one of two custom kernels with the MJB bootloader.
