[Q] Headphone Double-/Triple-Click in HTC music - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys,
I recently bought myself a set of new headphones with a 3-button remote control.
I knew, that the volume up/down buttons don't work within android but I would like to get the double-/triple-click function working within the HTC music app.
Double-/Triple-click works fine when I use Poweramp. But it does not work within the HTC Music App. Here I can only Pause/Unpause the music with a single click.
Is there any fix/app/workaround which lets me use the Double-/Triple Click funktion in HTC music?

Need something like Headset Button Controller

The double /triple click in Poweramp is just part of that app. To get something similar you need to use an app like "Headset Button Controller" in the market.
You also might have to disable the Poweramp ones as they might conflict.

Thanks! With the app double and triple click are working within HTC Music

Well, it is mostly working.
Double or triple-clicking while listing to a song does not work.
If i pause the song with one click, perform a double click and then another single click to unpause the player then the next song is played.
strange...

This! Tried it with different headset button apps and the normal double-click while music is playing does not skip the current track. Has to be paused first.
Weird and a hassle but hey it works. Better than taking out your phone, unlocking it just to press that next button.

[Q] Supplied Headphones - Track skip?

Hi, i've searching for this for a while, but to no avail.
I love my new Galaxy S2, but there is one issue that bothers me, and that is that I have to take it out of my pocket to skip tracks.
I heard from one person stating you could skip the track by long pressing the button on the supplied head phones, however I cannot get this to work. Does this work for any body else?
If the headphones can't skip track, does anyone know of any that do (volume control is not important)? Or an app/trick to skip track without needing to take the phone out of my pocket? (such as long press volume rocker)
I have an old bluetooth stereo headset, and even this won't allow track skipping, only play/pause, despite working fine with my nexus one. All help would be greatly appreciated.
You skip tracks by double pressing the mic button. It's a pain to get the timing right, but it does work with the stock music player.
You can download PowerAMP Music Player from the android market.
It's a better music player and you can longpress the button to change the track
Trail version is 15 days, you gotta buy the full app after that

So If my headphones can't even play/pause the stock music app , I might have an some other underlying issue?
Strangely I play/pause with the headset if I install Fedes music app alpha v4, and possibly others. Will try uninstalling all music apps again and see if they were interferring somehow.
Confused!
To follow up, the double click to skip works in Fedes Music app (you're right about the timing) but still won't work in either the stock music app or the music hub.
Really fustrating.
The double clicking works on stock but you have to get the timing right, which is near impossible. The whole Samsung s2 stock music app is a load of crap compared to the original S, the sound, the music contol, the whole thing is much worse! I don't know what they have done, but they have definitely gone backwards with the music app!
You can use a remote from an HTC headphone for skipping tracks.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the button does not work at all when using the stock app. No play/pause, no track skip, nothing.
All other music apps seem to work as intended. So surely this must be an issue with my stock music app? As if there is a hidden setting I turned off, but can't find to turn back on.

About 2.5 years too late but I think I've nailed it. I can get a consistently successful double click skip by holding the first click a little longer. Using a pair of cheap Sony earphones on the S2.

[Q] Music pausing in all music apps

Hello all,
My (stock) HTC One X has the following very annoying bug: All music apps randomly pause audio (at any time, screen on/off).
I've tried with Winamp, the stock music app, the plain google music app and Deezer. It happens least frequently with Deezer and most frequently with the stock music app. (Drawback with Deezer is that it doesn't allow you to play music stored on the phone).
Does anyone have a fix for issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm posting a new thread since the existing topics about audio playback seem to centre around distortion or ticking sounds. I don't have any of that, perfect audio until it is randomly paused. Moreover, once it is paused it can't be "unpaused" from the lock-screen for some reason (so this becomes more annoying when driving/jogging/walking).
Rooting and installing a custom rom could be a solution, i just wanted to explore other options first.
Thanks for any help!
Does your headset have button(s)? Maybe you press them without noticing.

You are not alone, I've been having this problem as well. I've tried, winamp, stock, google play and it happens with them all. I just have plain headphone's plugged in.
I can only assume it's another app that conflicting somehow.
I have however enabled the player on my lock screen, so I can re-start from there, but agree it's painful when hands free is required.

Lock screen media controls

It seems lock screen media controls only appear if there is just one music/podcast app launched (foreground or background)
Does anyone know how to fix that?

So you basically want permanent music controls even if you don't listen to anything?
I've searched for that myself in different forums but can't find anything.. best solution is to use a headset that has a play/stop button so even if there's nothing on the screenlock and I push the "play" button the last audio app starts again (either podcast or spotify).
Anyhow, if you find a permanent solution please let us know here

not really, but I guess that would be nice too
What I want is to have media controls when I'm listening to something.
Currently if I'm listening to music and listened to podcasts earlier (beyondpod is in background) media controls are not visible on the lock screen
I have to kill beyondpod to get them back.

Any App To Skip Tracks With Volume Keys With Screen Off?

I've tried a couple random ones from the play store none of which worked. If anyone knows an app that will allow me to do this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I've been using Pocket Skip Track and it seems to work fine. The only issue I have is that it will only work with a single music player at a time and you can only skip ahead (not back).

I tried this app but it doesn't seem to work with Spotify. I disabled LG's shortcut keys and played around with the apps settings. When I hit volume up to skip the track the volume just goes up and down.
Looks like we'll have to wait until root. I couldn't find anything either. Only think I can suggest is using bluetooth headphones that have buttons for changing the track built in.

Also if you have wired earphones/headphones that have physical button, most players support skipping to next track by double clicking the main button. Single click pauses the track.
On a side note, I use the power amp media player which is really good, and it also has equalizer built in, (custom configurable) which is not present in either the LG music or Google music apps. You need to use an app called "Equalizer" from the play store if you need custom equalizer for other music apps.
Another option might be the little "button-thingy" that sticks into your headphone jack. I just bought one off of Amazon for $6 to give it a try.

I'll report back once I receive it.
Music Folder Player
Try Music Folder Player. I've used that for awhile. Pretty much hold down the volume button up or down and it will skip to the next song or the previous song.
poweramp has this ability built in

I need to be able to skip songs in Pandora and Spotify. Can this app do that or only for songs played with the app itself? Thanks.

Oh OK. Didn't know you were trying to do that. No that app is just for songs you have in your storage. Sorry.
Just got my pressy (knockoff) button and am happy to report that it DOES work with Spotify. I'm using the app Key Cut and a double press input to skip tracks. It also works with all of the other media players I have tried thus far (Poweramp, Google Music, LG Music). Since I stream most of my music through bluetooth it is a good solution for my needs but not sure if this will help solve your problem.
i really want to know ,thank you !

I figured either gravity box or wanam for lollipop would work. I just wasn't sure what the UI the G4 would fall under, AOSP (gravity box) or more like TW (wanam); as I don't have the phone yet. I know wanam is for Samsung stock roms but I've used it on other custom roms too. There's also a standalone module called Physical Button Music Control by XspeedPL.
GravityBox works for the most part. Sometimes it won't skip tracks but a reboot fixes it.
The xposed module "Physical Button Music Control" is by far the best option. It works every time without fail whereas gravity box is hit or miss. Plus you can program the volume keys and power button to do more than gravity box can.
Hi, check this app in this thread, it has volume buttons skip tracks with single or double click:

I second this one here, I have tried quite a few, and this one works by far the best, albeit still not perfect.
