As far as we have tested, after flashing complete firmware ND3 it is possible to run 4.3 custom roms (not tested older ones).
Regarding wifi and similar issues it is advantageous to have newest firmware including bootloader.

Which 4.3 firmware have you successfully flashed? Are all 4.3 firmwares working on ND3 bootloaders? I don't plan on going back to 4.3 but want to know for my knowledge Thank you

We only tested 4.3 custom roms, no firmware and depending on Knox status, in my opinion it could be possible to downgrade firmware to any 4.3 with knox enabled BL, as long as Knox isn't triggered. That's only theory and for me too late to test it. Never cared about warranty.
I have a silly doubt.. How can the Knox counter trip if we use Custom ROM without knox?
Above is valid if someone want to upgrade from MJ5 Bootloader to newer one with any new custom rom.

There is a difference between Knox app and Knox counter in the download menu of the phone. Once you go up/changing bootloader from mj5 then you get a present Knox counter for free.
Any custom room using higher bootloader will set up the Knox.
It's not about it is custom or not it's about flashing the bootloader.

Hey guys what is the safest way to downgrade from the mj5 bootloader .? I am currently running ditto note 3 v3 with mj5 bootloader and want to go back to stock mg1 for some reason... Which method do you recommend?
1. Directly flashing stock mg1 (which includes previous bootloader)
2. Flashing dr ketans bootloader patch first and then downgrade to stock dmg1..
Any help is appreciated

Go for 2nd method i.e first flash dr. ketans bootloader patch then downgrade to DMG firmware. This way mj5 bootloader wouldn't be any nuisance for downgrading to previous firmwares.

I know 2nd method is safe, but what happens if go for 1st method i.e Directly flashing stock mg1 (which includes previous bootloader)?
Because I am using MJ5 bootloader and I want to know that can MJ5 bootloader trigger knox security flag when flashing non-knox firmware or rooting... etc
Ok this is not what you asked but , might help some people ...
You said for some reasons ? Like what ? Cuz now I'm on MIUI and willing to try some new roms , most of the require mj5 but i wasn't sure about this move
So ?

I have flashed mj5 bootloader to run dn3 rom. When I flash my stock 4.1.2 n7100xxdmg1 rom, will it restore the xxdmg1 bootloader or will I still be having mj5 bootloader? Or will 4.1.2 rom be able to run on mj5 bootloader?
Is bootloader nothing to do with roms? Help get this concept right please.
Thanks in advance.

4.1.2 should work with the MJ5 bootloader, but you can restore it. The old one is available in tools portion of Dr. Ketan's all in one thread.

Yes it will replace the BL
Does using it require an unlocked bootloader, and will it unlock the bootloader in the process?
Trying to help my friend root so he can back everything up, then unlock his bootloader.

For T999, if its on 4.2.1 or prior version of Android, then the bootloader is unlocked. If its on 4.3, the bootloader is locked and there is absolutely no known way to unlock it.

And that would mean there's no way to root on 4.3 if my friend is already there, correct?

Hmmm.............. Well, not quiet. But the problem is, you may trip that dreaded warranty bit. Visit the Root66 Thread and flash that image UVUEMJC.

Would flashing the 4.3 from that thread lock the bootloader? I don't think it will, but just want to be safe.

Since the phone is already locked, that Rom won't re-lock it. It won't unlock either. That's why I recommended that Rom (UVUEMJC). If you tried prior Root66 roms, you will brick the phone.

His phone is on 4.1.2 so the bootloader should be unlocked. If he were to flash the Root66 4.3 would it lock the bootloader?

Do not flash the root66.. instead flash a custom recovery with Odin and then flash a stock rom and update modem if you're gonna flash 4.3.. that is the safest to do it if your friend cares about warranty.. you can still flash the root66 and it will be rooted but it may trip the warranty bit, I'm not too sure

I'm fairly sure his warranty is up unless it's lifetime, because he's had it for 2 years. Either way, I was just checking in case he decided to, I think he just wants to root 4.1.2 and stick with that for now.
OK then just use cf auto root.. It even works with 4.3 so no need to worry about bootloaders or anything

hello people
its possible downgrade from UCDMG2 4.1.2 to UCDLK3, no brick the phone?
thanks
Which phone do you have? Try and find the 4.1.1 firmware on samfirmware and should be able to downgrade using Odin.
Downgrading always had its risks.

I have the i747, but had heard that has the locked bootloader and why I have not ariesgado.
The locked bootloader and knox came with stock 4.3 ROMs.
If you have never had stock 4.3 ROM on your phone, you can downgrade to 4.1.1 to unlock your phone, but there may be no stock 4.1.1 ROM for your phone, depending on your carrier.

hello, is to try to unlock the free.
Thanks for answering
You should be able to downgrade as long as you have never has your bootloader upgraded to 4.3 and you find the right 4.1.1 file.
I want to Downgrade 4.3 to Stock 4.1.2
Is there any way to do thtat
because now Knox bootloader wont allow Downgrade

The first thing is DO NOT TRY TO DWONGRADE THE 4.3 BOOTLOADER. You can Brick your Device. If you want to root the device. Check out the thread HERE.
Thanks bro

In a word, no. Stick to the MK3, or MK5 modems.
