Minor firmware update (6.1.A.2.50) hits the Xperia S

New firmware update. No changelog yet, anyone wanna test it out?

Bug fix??? Lets wait for some hours and see if theirs any review & changelog

i installed it a few minutes ago (the donwload took 3 hours) :S, havent seen any kind of changes, maybe a little big faster but that´s all

I read in this page http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/09/27...-the-xperia-s/ that anyone found anything new or improved yet, so it was really a minor update, waiting for JB ,

No update showing in Sri Lanka....

hmm, lets see if the bug with wlan got sorted out ..

They probably fixed the root loophole but left every other bug and annoyance intact.

Xperia T is the their flagship and annoyingly it is cheaper in the UK than what the S was.
No .50 for Generic UK

Stock UK here and 6.1.A.2.50 just showed up. I had previously put the latest Italian ICS rom on though - later than the 453 one so that might have been why.

Still no UK Generic

Is there anyone who can upgrade via PC Companion and post the fw? Or just the files PC Companion downloads? Then I can decrypt them myself

Currently that is by design. I'm guessing it's to make sure that everything is working properly before people start flashing stuff like crazy.

That's awesome work! As for me, I will wait until the final version comes out though.

I probably won't wait for the FINAL version, but I'll probably wait until flashing ROMs is an option or at least a couple days to see how it works.

That's a problem. If you don't have a dev version of the M, you can't even root. What's the point then?

There is an exploit for the retail version (link to the thread here). Everything installed correctly from what I can see.

I am honestly not sure, I would bet there is one out for it if this doesn't work.

You don't need this on the RAZR I... Its bootloader is unlockable.

Yeah, the RAZR i is bootloader unlockable. There's not a recovery for it yet (unless it was released today), but it's being worked on.

Just did. I hit the M forum first before I hit the i forum on my daily forum crawl, which is why I didn't know about the events of today. Nothing major has happened, though...no recovery yet.

Until Sony announce it I won't be believing it. That claim is very easy to make and could be a hoax.

Sony replied to my email. Sorry guys it's bad news. They say that the xperia m could get the 4.4 update, just not any time soon. Looks like we will be waiting a while. They also stressed the word "could", so they are still unsure if they should do it or not.

Just take a look at xm2 and xm on Sony mobile update site... There is an info about kitkat for xm2 but no news about update for xm so they didn't even plan this for now

In SGS4 many apps are incompatible with 4.4 even downloaded from store !!!!

ART, Immersive Mode, better RAM managment(atleast that's what they say). Anyway, it's ok, but it isn't anything special. Also, Immersive mode is sometimes pain in the ass, since pulling down will show status bar and nav bar, so it was quite annyoing for me when i acidentally pulled them down in certain apps and games.
