not bricked
Just hold the power button down for 60 seconds
That should boot it
Also if that fails try holding volume down and power for 60 seconds. Let me know if that fixes it

So to begin with i am a noob sorry. Now on to what i came here for. I just bought a HTC wildfire and i want to root it seems simple enough so i try to go into hboot by holding down the volume and power and the green LED appears and my phone vibrates a couple times. Other than that i just have a black screen and nothing is happening have i missed something like i need to update something to get into the hboot menu or something because its just sat here on my lap not doing anything except displaying a pretty green light.
Hmm, that's odd, the LED shouldn't be on when in HBOOT
Hm so something has most definitely gone wrong or i've missed something but everyone just says hold down volume and power button which i did
Are you sure you're doing vol- and power?
When I did vol+ the phone vibrated and the green LED came up, but when did vol- and power it got to the HBOOT normaly.
See told you im a noob thanks for that working now

Dude...
I think this is something that can be accessible from PC. Because, when i first connected the wildfire to PC and rebooted phone holding the volume up, I got driver installation for Qualcomm MSM.. Something strange

That is interesting, because I Google-d it and found that msm is a 3g chip.

Can you get it into fastboot mode? If so then you should be able to flash the stock ROM again.
No, it can't be turned on.

Just to verify, if you hold volume up and down and power at the same time it doesn't boot into the bootloader??
That's where the CPU is I think, where you have highlighted.
If it did fry then you can get a replacement but try the bootloader first.
Also the phone will switch off if it gets tell hot too so maybe that's it.
Thanks, I tried to boot into bootloader with or without usb, but it doesn't work

Pull the battery for a minute or two and try again.
Is it still hot?
It'll cool down after i removed the battery, and won't fry if a put the battery again.
But if i press the power button it will get hot.(not very hot, a little warm)
Is there any way that i can start the phone with only usb cable?
Hi,
I dropped my phone last week and it dented my volume down button. I thought it wouldn't be a huge problem besides volume down being constantly pressed however today my phone battery died for the first time since I dropped it and when I tried to turn it on it went into recovery. While on the recovery screen I don't know what I pressed but somehow I got into this screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
While on this screen and reading my options to figure out what to press to get out of it, my phone screen just randomly turned off?! I figured maybe the battery died? So I've but it on charge (been on charge for over an hour now) but it doesn't seem to be booting up now :/ not even into recovery. In fact I'm not sure if it is even charging, the LED light that usually indicates it is charging isn't blinking. Is that normal? I can't remember if it ever blinks when the phone is off and charging.
Any ideas on what's happening? Or what I should do?
Thanks,
Dilz
Don't panic. It's just the fastboot screen. Press a volume button to navigate to "START" and press power button. Your phone will boot up if everything is fine
Maybe you didn't read the full thread but my phone randomly turned off on this screen and isn't booting now
First you need to release that button. While it's pressed, you won't be able to do anything.

But shouldn't my phone still charge/power on into recovery with the volume down button pressed in?
Ola!
I'm playing with a LG G4-H815.
When using `adb reboot bootloader`, the phone just boot on normal mode.
When doing the Volume Up + Power button thing, I manage to land on Download Mode but nothing happens, `fastboot` does not detect the phone. And I get this popup:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

Reset Factory doesn't work either. Does nothing but reboot the phone as if nothing happened.

Yes, that's the Volume Up + Power buttons thing. I manage to land on this mode as described in the OP.

Press and hold volume up + volume down + power button all at the same time until the phone turns off and powers back on. Once the phone starts to reboot, let all 3 buttons go at the same time. That should do it.
Thank you, I tried this but didn't get any results.

After all these devices that Ive owned, the very same thing occurred when I was updating the S22U firmware using official SmartSwitch software from same PC for many years.
