This is a recovery flashable tool I made to remove all Knox Apps (sorry it WON'T remove Knox from the bootloader) and all the BloatWare that comes with stock. 1. Flash In Recovery
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing.

They do? I own Tapatalk and use it when I'm not in front of my PC, especially at work but I thought that although it shows the thanks button I've seen it toast "Deny action" at the bottom when I'm over the limit. Maybe that was only when I've already thanked a post before refreshing?

I don't request things often, but any way you can make one that only removes knox apps, I use quite a few apps that you've listed as removed in this package... If not its cool, I can do it all myself, just easier to flash something to do it for me... [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] either way thanks

Yep. I'll make one later. I know you're pretty knowledgeable so I'll just say, if you you want to make your own custom one all you have to do is edit the updater script with Notepad++, once you look at it it's pretty easy.

I believe all of the Knox Apps are grouped at the beginning, all that should need to be done is delete the app part... I just gotta get to my PC and it will take a minute, literally.

Delete. I found my answer it did do it.
This does not deodex anything. It removes Knox apps.

2 Questions
1. I have removed most of this stuff on my own through titanium pro
Can I remove
-KNOXAgent.apk
-KnoxAttestationAgent.apk
-KNOXStore.apk
-KnoxVpnServices.apk
With titanium ? I really dont want to do the extra steps if I dont need to lol
2. I only use facebook and couple games that are connected through facebook ( check ins , dice with buddies and so on )
Will removing -SNS.apk interfere with those apps ?
Thank you for any help and tips

Here is a ROM based off the newest OTA update for the HTC Incredible 2 5.10.605.9
This is completely BONE STOCK. Nothing has been taken out, this is exactly how it came with the exception of superuser/busy box, and being deodexed. Full credit goes to dsixda for his Android Kitchen, this would not be possible (by me at least) without his amazing application.
You must be rooted to flash this ROM!
Please refer to the ADD-ON'S after installing the ROM, please boot up once, you will notice super user won't update binary, please download the super user add on and install after the ROM, after booting up once!
Please do a FULL wipe before installing!! Or else it will for you!

Edited META-INF folder - to remove the full wipe when installing ROM.
Directions:
download .zip here
extract the META-INF folder.
take the .zip for the ROM, and delete the META-INF folder and REPLACE it with the once you just downloaded. (I use winrar/jzip)
now install the ROM as you would any other, and it will NOT do full wipe.
enjoy
Nice job Andy!
So not even debloated?? Interesting. Although, it gives a chance for people to decide what they consider bloat.

I didn't want to de-bloat it cos then I'd have to add another .zip with all the things I deleted. This is just a nice stock de-odexed, rooted version of the new OTA update. Figured most would enjoy it..

Please READ the OP. It has mods that are not available in the stock versions.
Your best bet would be to get the latest RUU and then update it.

if you know what you are removing and dont delete the wrong stuff it would be fine
but it would be advisable to have a known booting rom on your sdcard just in case
What would the danger be in just flashing this OVER the previous version of rooted stock?

I think the point is to make it Not unique, but a flashable rooted stock.
Hi, this is a fairly advanced topic, I'm not providing a nice little cwm file for you to "apply" or "revert" so you gotta know what you're doing. Namely, you'll need to know how to type some commands via adb and be rooted.
I'm providing two CWM files that you can flash over odexed or deodexed LG Optimus G Pro ROMs. Simply put these in your sdcard, use the 2nd init recovery to reboot into recovery, then apply and reboot.
Props to mateo1111 and lv4n35. I used their contribution for "pointers"
Enjoy your reclaimed notification slide down real estate.
worked great, thanks!
i think i already asked but could you look into removing the at&t text from the statusbar? also making all the text color holo blue? i believe all of this is in the systemUI.
Worked on mine as well. Thanks for putting this together!

once and if we get the bootloader unlocked, then it would make sense to provide cwm files that you can apply and revert easily. if someone packages this file in a cwm file in the meantime that you can flash via 2nd init, then I'll post it in the OP.
Edit: found the time to push two cwm files in the OP

The demand for this mod is more than I initially anticipated. You guys made me feel bad :silly: so I'm providing two little nice CWM flashable files in the OP. This should now work on odexed or deodexed ROMs. Guys with international PRO variants, you can try these files too. Worse case is that you'll have to flash back to stock using LGFlashTools given that we have no recovery to fix stuff from a soft brick yet.

Thanks so much for all of your hard work! I figured pushing via file explorer was easier than ADB push (especially for people like me with little command line experience) so I decided to make myself a guinea pig and test that method.

It works in most cases but sometimes when the status bar UI restarts before you reboot, it might cause some corruption in the dalvik-cache and give you all kind of weird sh*t when you reboot. That's why I like to either do things in recovery, clean dalvik and reboot, or "stop" the OS, do my stuff in adb, and reboot. In any case, I just tested the cwm "hide" file in the OP and it works indeed It should be be pretty easy to flash this mod now.

Here is a flashable script that will remove all bloatware from your HTC One. You must be HTC Dev unlocked and have a custom recovery installed.
Flash the zip in recovery, wipe cache and davlik-cache, and then reboot!
Remember that you can download any of these apps later if you want them.

Yup, I bet that is what it is. Do you think I would be able to uninstall the updates from the settings menu and then flash again?
EDIT: I uninstalled the updates and it automatically removed the app. Perfect! You can just put a note in the OP to have users uninstall any updates to those apps if they are still available after flashing.
Thanks again for this!
EDIT 2: You do NOT have to run the script again after uninstalling the updates. The app will automatically be removed without flashing. Pretty neat!

I don't know what the new APK name is though. Could you do me a favor?
Download a file explorer, and navigate to /system/app/. Look for something called "com.mobitv.client.nfl2010.apk" it may have different numbers in the title. Could you tell me what they are?
Edit:
Well, never mind then. I will put that in the OP.

Does this mean for example that I will not be able to install any of the listed apps in the OP ever again?
You make it sounds like a persistent script which will remove any of the OP's listed apps upon restart. Please clarify.
Thanks!

I just re-downloaded my Verizon and it works. Let's see if it stays after a reboot....
Edit:
Yup, still there.
For people with Verizon on the unlimited plan, are you able to create a hotspot for free without having to add it to your plan with this root method? Or do you have to wait for a custom ROM with the AOSP hotspot embedded?
TY! This worked great...

You can use any hotspot app to do it. VZW no longer has control over that. The built-in one will charge you though.

Im sorry I didn't have that, did you have any other issues before this? Are you having any other problems or is it just the play store?
Always a first try at fixing. Clear cache an fix permission. If not, I'll upload the original files.

ok, i guess we need to go back a bit. is your phone rooted? if not, you need to start there.
go to the main section for the tmobile n3 and it should have some good guides on how that is done. the next thing you would want to do is learn how to install a custom recovery and work with it. YES, if you don not fully understand what you are doing then you can turn your phone into a pretty paper weight.
do those few things, then if you need help send me a pm and i'll see if i can give you some more detailed instructions.

Is anyone else having trouble selecting the apps? When I pick, for example, "Play Music" from the edit screen and drag it over to the sidebar as a multi-window option, it might show up as "Focal" or something. Every app is doing this. Any ideas?

When I drag items from the bar to the screen it just opens them.

This happens when you have a bunch of apps in the edit window area... it was a pita to fix on 4.1.2, and 4.3 did things a little different to sort of force a "redo" of the process. I also noticed when you have a lot of apps on that window and you are scrolling up/down, if a row has a mix of apps that have 1 line labels and 2 line labels the spacing gets a little wonky. Both of these reflect the idea that multiwindow and touchwiz wasn't made with tons-o-apps in mind (at least to the extent that it goes beyond a visible page in the edit window area). Both can be fixed but take a bit of smali hacking to make happy.
thank you for sharing

Where is it? This didn't work for me and kind of destroyed everything...I need to go back.
Someone asked me to share this for the Note 3 Peeps...
I compiled the AOSP browser for 4.3.
I added Adobe Flash.
I put it in a flashable zip.
I made it for you...
Note 1: There are a couple string errors that are not a huge deal. The most notable is the "Search this page" says something like "Company info." Strange but it doesnt impact the functionality of the browser. I'll try to recompile it for the Nexus 4 and see if that makes a difference. This was compiled as a Nexus 10 base.
Note 2: Always make back up before you flash!!!
Eitherway...
Enjoy!

Didn't work for me Scott. Wiped cache and dalvik, flashed in recovery. Got a gapps process force close on restart and when clicking on the icon it just wouldn't open. Permissions seemed to have been correct too. Just letting you know. Love that browser.

Try deleting "/system/app/BrowserProviderproxy.apk"

Exact same thing happened to me.
Is this the version with Chromsync (Bookmark sync)?
A Plan B:
D/L AOSP Root Browser from the market, unselect Install CyanogenMOD-Browser - Chrowsync OR Not, then Restart.
Far more reliable then and full featured then TW, and Chrome in my opinion. FLASH is something I still use so i am not ready to give that up or Goolgle Bookmark sync.

It looks like you are Beans ROM.
I tried it only on my ROM. It works, as you can see in the screenshots, just fine.
Dont know
Scott it seemed to work on your ROM but I did not extensively test it. To have it sync bookmarks what do I need to do?

Edit: I will ask Beans, later on tonight, if he made any mods that might interfere with the AOSP Browser.
Also check to see if BrowserProviderProxy.apk is present and try deleting it. Sometimes that can stop the browser from loading. However its present on my ROM and hasnt caused an issue for me but I have seen that cause issues in the past.
Renamed BrowserProviderProxy to .bak fixed it for me!
Thanks Scott!

Is this browser supposed to work on any MJE rom? I flashed it on Beans build 6 and no go. I looked for the browserproviderproxy.apk and it was gone (only found browser.apk)... Went to several flash test sites and no go.
Did I miss something? Any help is appreciated!
I thought beans ROM had Flash in it?
Not sure why it doesnt work on his. I was hoping the ProviderProxy was the issue but people are not reporting hits or misses so I dont know.
I will just have to get with beans when I have some time and ask him his thoughts.
(EDIT: I dont think frank was trying to come off as Snarky, I didint read it that way)
I'm running Baja, I just renamed the BrowserProxy and it works great!

I apologize too, it's just the way I write; and I usually read faster than I should be so I mis-read a lot.
